Welcome![edit]

Hello, The.Lost.Soul, Welcome to Wikipedia!
I hope you like working here and want to continue. If you need help on how to name new articles, look at the Guide to Layout, and for help on formatting the pages visit the Manual of Style. If you need general help, look at Help and the FAQ, and if you can't find your answer there, check the Village Pump (for Wikipedia related questions) or the Reference Desk (for general questions). There's still more help at the Tutorial and the Policy Library. Also, don't forget to visit the Community Portal — and if you have any more questions after that, feel free to post them on my New-Users' Talk Page.

Here are some extra tips to help you get around Wikipedia:
  • If you want to play around with your new Wiki skills, try the Sandbox.
  • Click on the Edit button on a page, and look at how other editors did what they did.
  • You can sign your name using three tildes, like this: ~~~. If you use four, you can add a datestamp too. Always sign comments on Talk pages, never sign Articles.
  • You might want to add yourself to the New User Log
  • If your first language isn't English, try Wikipedia:Contributing to articles outside your native language
  • Full details on Wikipedia style can be found in the Manual of Style.
There's also a regular group introduction to Wikipedia for new users on IRC.

Happy editing!

Wikipedia isn't a dictionary; Wiktionary is. This is a dictionary entry, not an encyclopædia article. It only manages to be so long because of very tangential stuff about a particular road having a midpoint — irrelevant to the phrase. My first thought was to put it up for deletion (as no-one's going to look this up), but I left it as a Wiktionary link. Please don't revert again; iff you persist, I shall have to take steps to have it protected (or deleted).

Also:

Hello. Please don't forget to provide an edit summary. Thanks, and happy editing.

Thanks for your reply; no problem. And thanks for the alert — I've deleted the page. When you come across something like that, you can add {{db|reason}} to the top of the article, replacing "reason" with your reason for thinking that it should be speedily deleted (check Wikipedia:Criteria for speedy deletion for the acceptable reasons).
Oh, and always remember to give an edit summary, and to sign your messages on Talk pages with --~~~~ (you can just click on the signature icon along the top of the edit box).
Happy editing! --Mel Etitis (Μελ Ετητης) 23:16, 2 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Spam in TrekStor[edit]

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on TrekStor, by Ariovistus (talk · contribs), another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because TrekStor is blatant advertising for a company, product, group, service or person that would require a substantial rewrite in order to become an encyclopedia article.

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting TrekStor, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Please note that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it did not nominate TrekStor itself. Feel free to leave a message on the bot operator's talk page if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot. --Android Mouse Bot 2 20:05, 1 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

AfD nomination of Polytechnic Institute of Cávado and Ave[edit]

An editor has nominated Polytechnic Institute of Cávado and Ave, an article on which you have worked or that you created, for deletion. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also "What Wikipedia is not").

Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Polytechnic Institute of Cávado and Ave and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 19:59, 29 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
