Do not redirect[edit]

Your edits deleting redirects with the edit summary "do not redirect" are wrong. Per policy, you should not modify links simply because they are redirects when there's nothing wrong with them. See MOS:NOPIPE and WP:DONOTFIXIT. ~Swarm~ {sting} 06:33, 3 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

April 2020[edit]

Stop icon This is your only warning; if you add defamatory content to Wikipedia again, as you did at List of most-subscribed YouTube channels, you may be blocked from editing without further notice. ~Swarm~ {sting} 19:05, 21 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

  • It is unacceptable to make unsubstantiated allegations of wrongdoing or illegal conduct in edit summaries. This was a defamatory allegation you made. It's also an unsourced claim, original research, and POV-pushing. This may not seem like a big deal to you, but it directly damages the credibility of Wikipedia. If I see you making any similar edits going forward, you will be blocked without further notice. Your edit has been reverted as invalid, do not edit war over this and discuss any legitimate disagreements you have. Your personal views on T-Series is irrelevant. ~Swarm~ {sting} 19:11, 21 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Black MIDI[edit]

"There are so many subgenres of MIDI, and black MIDI is only 1% of them"

I don't understand what you mean by this. What do you mean by "subgenres of midi" and what other ones do we have Wikipedia pages on? Popcornfud (talk) 14:43, 27 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

by subgenres of MIDI I mean genres of music that use MIDI. There are a lot of them, and black MIDI is only one of them. TheDiaperPinez37 (talk) 15:42, 27 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
What do you mean by "genres of music that use midi"? Midi is a tool that is used in the production of composition of pretty much every kind of genre to some extent, these days.
Black midi is different in that it is a genre of music defined by the use of midi. It's pretty unusual, as far as I know. It's not a "subgenre of midi". We don't have articles for midi jazz or midi rock so... what are these other "subgenres of midi" that we could also link to but choose not to? Popcornfud (talk) 16:02, 27 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I cannot understand your edit summary here. Can you explain? Popcornfud (talk) 18:56, 8 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
It simply means that the amount of people who know or have heard about MIDI itself is much bigger than the amount of people who know or have heard about specifically black MIDI. Let's assume about 50 million people know about black MIDI. The amount of people who know about MIDI itself is much bigger than that. It may include people from areas which black MIDI isn't even popular in. I've never heard of black MIDI in my entire life until I've seen it on that dab page. TheDiaperPinez37 (talk) 19:16, 8 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
OK, but so what? Disambiguation pages are there to help users find what they're looking for. How famous that particular thing is doesn't come into it. Popcornfud (talk) 19:21, 8 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
It's unlikely, though, that anyone would simply search for MIDI if they want black MIDI. TheDiaperPinez37 (talk) 20:04, 8 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
OK, that is actually a reason why we might not want to include it in the page, and that's what I was getting at when I said, initially, that there might be reasons to exclude it. I'm on the fence there and it requires me to know more about exactly what disambig pages are for. But if we don't include Black MIDI, then we shouldn't include Black Midi either. Popcornfud (talk) 20:44, 8 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I also initially wanted to exclude black midi the band because in turn, black MIDI the genre is 10 times as known as black midi the band. TheDiaperPinez37 (talk) 22:03, 8 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
