Hi there! Just letting you know that I've moved your page into a sort of "private-holding-area" for you to work on; it can be found at this link. Let me know when you're done, and I can move it back into the main article area! Theopolisme 11:06, 4 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Base 24 to Quadrovigesimal

[edit]

This move should really not have been made without discussion, since the form "quadrovigesimal" is almost certainly bogus incorrect Latin, and gets relatively few Google hits outside Wikipedia... AnonMoos (talk) 22:13, 12 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

However, my Latin dictionary does not list any forms beginning with quadro except for a verb meaning "I make square", and the most common way of saying "twenty-fourth" in Latin was actually vicesimus quartus. The problems with Quadrovigesimal are 1) It's a bogus pseudo-Latin form invented by people who don't actually know any Latin; and 2) There's not any real evidence that it's in reasonably widespread use. Further discussions should probably be at Talk:Base 24. -- AnonMoos (talk) 15:36, 13 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I don't know why you don't discuss matters in the designated location, which is Talk:Base 24, where there's previous discussion about potential problems with "tetravigesimal". It may be that there's not any reasonably widely-accepted or established term for this in the English language other than "Base 24", in which case why change what isn't broken?
