A tag has been placed on ♥;Unchained Memories requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for web content.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. ttonyb1 (talk) 06:28, 27 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

June 2009[edit]

Please do not remove speedy deletion notices from pages you have created yourself, as you did with ♥;Unchained Memories. Please use the {{hangon}} template on the page instead if you disagree with the deletion, and make your case on the page's talk page. Thank you. ttonyb1 (talk) 06:39, 27 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Moderation of articles[edit]

On Wikipedia, every article can be edited by everyone, and will only be protected from editing if there is a good reason to do so, like persistent vandalism or content disputes. No single editor owns a Wikipedia article. decltype (talk) 12:55, 27 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, TheMemories. You have new messages at Ttonyb1's talk page.

Speedy deletion nomination of BY2[edit]

A tag has been placed on BY2 requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article, which appears to be about a real person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable. If this is the first page that you have created, then you should read the guide to writing your first article.

If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the article (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. NtheP (talk) 14:32, 27 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

BY2[edit]

Please do not remove speedy deletion notices from pages you have created yourself, as you did with BY2. Please use the {{hangon}} template on the page instead if you disagree with the deletion, and make your case on the page's talk page. The article needs external references to support why you think it is notable. That and, in my opinion, to be written less like a press release from a record company NtheP (talk) 15:32, 27 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi ! I am the editor for BY2 page in wikipedia, may I know why is a speedy deletion tag placed after I had used hours to re-edit their page and make it more interesting ? Don't believe, go to the history page and see the past page with only a few infomation when no one even placed any removal note ? You can go to any website, or any pages to search for a simple "BY2" if you don't believe that they are certificated singers. Thanks and get back to me fast. I am tired of people visiting their wikipedia page and complaining that there is a speedy deletion placed there...

Hi. Let's start this over. Please read some of the wikipedia guidelines about what makes a band notable. This can be found at Wikipedia:Notability (music). It may be that BY2 are notable, but you're not putting in any information that supports your viewpoint that they are. If you want a good wikpedia article it's no good writing a few paragraphs or even pages and not referencing them and expecting readers e.g. me, to go away and do further investigation. You should put the references there for readers to see. Note these references need to be independent of BY2 themselves e.g. no press release by their record company or comments on a fan website. See Wikipedia:Verifiability
Also be aware that wikipedia has a stong neutral point of view policy, see Wikipedia:Neutral point of view. These means that any articles you write must not be biased. This article seems more written by and for fans of BY2 and therefore reads like an advert for them. As an example the article says in the introduction paragraph

BY2 stood out from other singers with their bubbly charm, dance moves and unique bond.

In whose opinion? If you're going to write things like that you have to have sources to support it. Another example is in the paragraph about their second album

The next wave of BY2 power can be experienced in this album.

Both of these examples sound like they were lifted from a record company press release. Wikipedia is about facts that can be verified. I know it's difficult but we all have to learn that on wikipedia none of us own any article we feel strongly about. Anyone else can come along and edit or criticise what we have written. That's why it's important to be able to justify what we have written.
Let me show you an example of where the article doesn't help anyone who isn't already familiar with BY2, I can't tell from the article whether they are Singaporean or Taiwanese? You say they are Singapore based but have them listed in the category Taiwanese singers.
Also look at the structure of other articles about bands and see how they are written. That might help you to understand how to really make the rest of the world learn about BY2.
I'll remove the CSD because yes they do appear to be notable in SE Asia but I've added the tags advert and unreferenced. This will remove any immediate threat of deletion.
If you want a hand on how to add references to the article please leave a message on my talk page. Oh and please remember to sign off any messages with your name by typing ~~~~ after the message. NtheP (talk) 09:47, 28 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I've added {{fact}} to those things you really do need to reference as a priority. NtheP (talk) 17:56, 28 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I have nominated BY2 (band), an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/BY2 (band). Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.

Please contact me if you're unsure why you received this message. NtheP (talk) 12:09, 1 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
