Hello, I'm BracketBot. I have automatically detected that your edit to Marilyn Michaels may have broken the syntax by modifying 1 "()"s. If you have, don't worry: just edit the page again to fix it. Marilyn Michaels edits[edit]

Please read the talk page before re-adding the television listings for Marilyn Michaels. The list you are adding is to detailed. An encyclopedia doesn't care about every time someone makes the rounds of the talk show circuit. If you want the listing in the article it needs to be shrunk down considerably. Just mentioning in the article itself that she has "appeared on talk shows like ..." is enough. Also just a preliminary warning due to similarities, if you happen to work for Marilyn Michaels or her talent agency or something similar you need to read the article on conflict of interest. Please refer to other comedian/impressionist articles to get an idea on the size of the appropriate sections. The level of detail you are trying to add for Marilyn Michaels is starting to have notability issues. Even Bob Hope's page has less detail then you are trying to add to this article. This is an encyclopedia, not a press junket. The last time someone added this much detail to the page, other editors totally gutted it because it became an "autohagiography".Marauder40 (talk) 12:28, 5 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

You continue to revert the changes. As I said before the level of detail is to much for Marilyn Michaels. WP doesn't care about the fact that someone makes the rounds of talk shows. Do you think that every time a popular star makes the rounds of the talk shows it is listed on Wikipedia? No. If you want a listing of television episodes it needs to be cut down considerably. Even Bob Hope's listing (a much more prolific comedian) is less detailed then the one you are trying to add. As I said before, just listing some of the show in the body of the article is fine (i.e. she has appeared on talk shows like the Tonight Show, ...) This is an encyclopedia, not a fan magazine, fan website, etc.Marauder40 (talk) 19:14, 13 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
This is the last time I am going to give advice since you don't seem to be trying to discuss your edits on the talk page. Your additions need to have third party reliable sources. Please read the article on reliable sources. Biographies of living people are held to much higher standards of using reliable sources then other articles. Album covers, play bills, press releases, etc. do not generally hold up as reliable sources. Official artist web pages sometimes hold up under CERTAIN circumstances. An example of this is, her page can be used to establish the fact that she played a Disney hotel. BUT it doesn't establish whether it is notable that she played that Disney hotel. Your best bet is to find third party articles (newspapers, books, etc.) to establish what you are adding to the article. Cut back on the flowery praise and things like that if you want you edits to remain.Marauder40 (talk) 12:30, 16 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Edit warring[edit]

Stop icon

Your recent editing history at Marilyn Michaels shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war. Being involved in an edit war can result in your being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you don't violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly.

To avoid being blocked, instead of reverting please consider using the article's talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. See BRD for how this is done. You can post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.
