This comment is a bit self-serving, don't you think? ThePerseid SCD (talk) 21:05, 19 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Not at all, really it's nice to see your user page started before I get here (I would have started it anyway for you :) ) Sadads (talk) 21:27, 19 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

January 2011

[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia and thank you for your contributions. However, I noticed that your username (ThePerseid SCD) may not meet Wikipedia's username policy because it appears to be promotional. If you believe that your username does not violate our policy, please leave a note here explaining why. As an alternative, you may ask for a change of username, or you may simply create a new account and use that for editing. Thank you. Lord Porchcrop POWER 06:21, 20 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

My username is a reference to the Andromeda episode "Harper 2.0", in which a Perseid (one of the aliens in the Andromeda universe) infects the ship's engineer with the contents of the All-Systems University, the main recorder of knowledge and information in the known worlds. The Perseid was a member of the Special Collections Division (SCD), which was charged with the collection and preservation of the information stored in the All-Systems University. My username cannot be promotional, as the All-Systems University does not exist. ThePerseid SCD (talk) 07:10, 20 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I'll vouch for him, it is in fact not promotional, he is participating in a Wikipedia assignment with the WP:United States Public Policy Initiative.
Perseid, don't worry about this, it doesn't reflect on you, it's just we occasionally get individual who wish to promote their companies on Wikipedia, and we have a team of people that keep an eye out for it, Sadads (talk) 12:46, 20 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Mentor request

[edit]

I'd be happy to be your mentor! I'll keep an eye on your Sandbox page and try to provide feedback whenever I can. Feel free to ask questions on my talk page. --Cryptic C62 · Talk 01:43, 25 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Sandbox Feedback

[edit]

Hey mate, it looks like you're getting some good work done in your sandbox. Before you go any further with the bulleted summary of the entire bill, I think you should be aware that prose (paragraphs with full sentences) is greatly preferred over bulleted lists. Perhaps you could dedicate a paragraph to each of the bill, or group together similar themes from the entire Act. It may be helpful to look at the article on the Alaska Mental Health Enabling Act, which is featured, meaning that it has been judged to be of the highest possible quality. Cheers! --Cryptic C62 · Talk 17:44, 28 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks, I'll take a look. Paragraphs will look nicer than bullets anyway. ThePerseid SCD (talk) 19:03, 28 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Invitation from the Guild of Copy Editors

The Guild of Copy Editors invites you to participate in their September 2011 Backlog elimination drive, a month-long effort to reduce the size of the copy editing backlog. The drive will begin on September 1 at 00:00 (UTC) and will end on September 30 at 23:59 (UTC). We will be tracking the number of 2010 articles in the backlog, as we want to copy edit as many of those as possible. Please consider copy editing an article that was tagged in 2010. Barnstars will be given to anyone who edits more than 4,000 words, with special awards for the top 5 in the categories "Number of articles", "Number of words", and "Number of articles of over 5,000 words". See you at the drive! – Your drive coordinators: Diannaa, Chaosdruid, The Utahraptor, Slon02, and SMasters.
