Request reason:

I believe that for Gilo to send me a batch of templates was arrogant, as was taking the case to AIV instead of ANI where I would have had my chance to explain myself and more time would have been taken over any decision, even if I did turn out to be wrong. Bottom line: I did not set out to vandalize the article and my worst crime was edit-warring coming close to 3RR. My latest action on the article in question was a self-revert and I added this to the AIV section (on which I was not informed, I had to find it myself). It is patently obvious looking at the rest of my edits that while the occasional issue may seem problematic, I have not proven to be above conversation and consensus and I am not what you would call a vandal of the conventional sense if judging the other reported cases on AIV at any time. If my addition of "fat guts" caused a BLP issue or required more support then that was all any editor needed to explain that to me rather than bombard me with robotic templates which were concocted to communicate with actual vandals. Moreover, I'm 99% sure I would have removed the segment myself as I did when this became critical. I genuinely believe this action is harsh in light of my evident good faith.

Decline reason:

It's not. "Assume good faith" lapses when bad faith is shown; your obvious and deliberate BLP violations, even after being warned, are unacceptable. When your block expires, I hope you can go back to constructive editing. --jpgordon::==( o ) 05:32, 21 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Please see the exchange I had with User:Rsrikanth05 here. Please comment there if needed. Wtmitchell (talk) (earlier Boracay Bill) 02:52, 21 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

You're right about the subject not having been gone into thoroughly and that there is more information out there than what was on the section. At the time I edited, the only two citations were both pointing to Arabic and because etymology ultimately looks at a language of origin, I thought the only listed language should receive an early mention. No big deal, it looks WP:LAME in any case so I will not be returning to that matter. --The 5th Doctor (talk) 04:49, 21 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
