Loughinisland massacre[edit]

Hi Clyde Valley, I just wanted to let you know that I have reverted your move of Loughinisland massacre. This is a controversial area and I really think it would be better if you got consensus from other editors on the article talk page before moving it. From the reliable sources, it seems to be more commonly referred to as Loughinisland massacre than Loughinisland killings so in my opinion it should stay as Loughinisland massacre. Just a wee note to thank you for your support on this article. Pearse's likely paedophilia is a difficult issue for some editors, but it's been out there for discussion for some time and it's in the sources. Miles Creagh (talk) 22:02, 18 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Restrictions on articles containing information of relevance to "The Troubles"[edit]

This message contains important information about an administrative situation on Wikipedia. It does not imply any misconduct regarding your own contributions to date. I am sending you this to help you stop yourself from breaking any restrictions imposed by the Arbitration committee for matters concerned with "The Troubles"

Please carefully read this information:

The Arbitration Committee has authorised discretionary sanctions to be used for pages regarding The Troubles, a topic which you have edited. The Committee's decision is here.

Discretionary sanctions is a system of conduct regulation designed to minimize disruption to controversial topics. This means uninvolved administrators can impose sanctions for edits relating to the topic that do not adhere to the purpose of Wikipedia, our standards of behavior, or relevant policies. Administrators may impose sanctions such as editing restrictions, bans, or blocks. This message is to notify you sanctions are authorised for the topic you are editing. Before continuing to edit this topic, please familiarise yourself with the discretionary sanctions system. Don't hesitate to contact me or another editor if you have any questions.

Please be reminded that any articles containing information about the Northern Ireland flag come under WP:1RR. Also realise that more behaviour than 1rr restrictions are covered by the sanctions. Try to work within the restrictions placed upon us all, and it is far better to work with others than work against them. I am trying to inform everyone who has contributed to the discussions or edited about the Northern Ireland flag.  DDStretch  (talk) 18:51, 31 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]
