Speedy deletion of Actionist[edit]

A tag has been placed on Actionist requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. I understand that you want to save the article. The way to do that is to use the talk page to discuss why you believe the article meets Wikipedia's guidelines for articles. Please do not delete the speedy deletion template from the top of the page. Doing so is considered vandalism and if you continue to do it you might end up getting blocked from editing altogether. Sorry I did not realize I deleted the speedy deletion template. I am sorry. If the article is not formatted correctly or relevant I am ok with it being deleted.

The reasons I would like to see it included is that I have been hearing many people use it to discern between reactive activism and proactive actions...thus actionism. it seems to have an entire ethos of non-violence and systemic change.

Not a problem. I'd suggest following the advice of the user who posted the section below this. If you can find some news articles talking about it, or some other type of verifiable reference to illustrate the significance of the concept, the article might be able to go back up at some point in the future. Actionism[edit]

What you need to do in order to save the article, is make clear how the subject belongs on Wikipedia, how it is notable enough to warrant a Wikipedia entry. As it stands, it comes across as a non-notable neologism. For instance, have reliable sources that are independent of the subject used the term with the definition or meaning that you have given in the now deleted article? context of actionism[edit]

OK, so i am quickly learning that to presence the idea, usage and context of actionism i am going to need to make wikipedi entrys on some of the core organizations, individuals, and ideas that precede it.
