Please do not add commentary, your own point of view, or your own personal analysis to Wikipedia articles, as you did to Sexual surrogate. Doing so violates Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy and breaches the formal tone expected in an encyclopedia. Thank you. Panian513 17:34, 3 January 2024 (UTC)

- This only says that it's the preferred term, and it's written by an individual, not an organization. That doesn't mean that you can add descriptions like "misleading, erroneous, and offensive term" or "highly educated and skilled practitioner trained to masterfully address..." - I reiterate this is NOT MY OPINION. It is the consensus view of the ENTIRE field, and you are changing this to OFFENSIVE language. Please change the title of the article to SURROGATE PARTNER THERAPY OR THERAPIST or change the language in the first paragraph. I will also submit YOUR OPINION to AASECT, the Surrogate Partner Collective, and IPSA for review. These are the THREE authorities in the field, and they ALL disagree with this language. Thank you. being bossy?[edit]
Hi. You are making argument from authority which we will not honor. As our essay on "experts" describes, we welcome editors with education but we do not grant them any additional authority which is how we chased most academics off this website. Our articles are written by dilettantes, summarizing what reliable sources say. We do not write from our own authority, if only because we do not verify the real-life identities of authors. For all you know, I could be a life-sentenced prisoner in a minimum security prison using an internet connection, though I could easily claim to be Anne of Cleves. Your username, itself, would be offensive if not so laughable. I recommend humility, going forward or you will be blocked from editing. - While I appreciate your time and opinion your threats and insults are not so kind. I am a member of the Surrogate Partner Collective and as a member of a large peer group of professionals in the field have most humbly requested on multiple occasions in numerous ways to kindly honor the updated and currently accepted terminology for the profession. It has changed greatly since the original research of Masters and Johnson and this request is neither made lightly nor without basis in fact. It has been over fifty years since the research was done and a lot changes in that time. In this time the professional terms Secretary, receptionist, stewardess, and even physician assistant have changed as well as many others. Wikipedia as a living breathing organism should keep up with these changes in terms and treat them as respectfully as changes for new gender terms or changes in terms for ethnicity or race, as it is still the act of labeling someone from outside of their group. It is commonly accepted, as time moves forward, to utilize the nomenclature the group identifies with and not hold onto archaic and disrespectful ones.
- As far as my name it is irrelevant to this discussion and insulting to make such a petty point believing it is pertinent to the matter at hand. It is not meant to be taken literally and is entirely tongue in cheek. You are the only person who has ever chosen to sling insults in this way.
