Now redirects to Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn. Most of the info was duplicated/summarized from the latter article, except for the individual sections about each modern order. However, almost all the info came from said order's websites. WP only allows such website references in an article about the group the website is about. Thus several pages were created, one for each order, Golden Dawn tradition is now gone, and the individual pages are linked from a new, short section of Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn. This ends an edit war on Golden Dawn tradition and ensures it won't simply be moved back to the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn article. It can only move to the individual articles - but since web references can't be used except autobiographically, no material from any other websites can be added to the independent articles - edit war over. :-) -999 22:29, 7 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, I can see how you would think so... But right now the real precipitators of the edit war are scratching their heads trying to figure out what happened (look at the last few changes and self-reverts on Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn to see what I mean). It seems that WP has a rule against members of an organization writing an article about their own group, so.... they have to find someone else to do it. But somehow, they've insulted or offended anyone who might be interested in doing so... funny, that. -999 23:57, 7 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Notification: changes to "Mark my edits as minor by default" preference

Hello there. This is an automated message to tell you about the gradual phasing out of the preference entitled "Mark all edits minor by default", which you currently have (or very recently had) enabled.

On 13 March 2011, this preference was hidden from the user preferences screen as part of efforts to prevent its accidental misuse (consensus discussion). This had the effect of locking users in to their existing preference, which, in your case, was true. To complete the process, your preference will automatically be changed to false in the next few days. This does not require any intervention on your part and you will still be able to manually mark your edits as being 'minor'. The only thing that's changed is that you will no longer have them marked as minor by default.

For established users such as yourself there is a workaround available involving custom JavaScript. If you are familiar with the contents of WP:MINOR, and believe that it is still beneficial to the encyclopedia to have all your edits marked as such by default, then this discussion will give you the details you need to continue with this functionality indefinitely. If you have any problems, feel free to drop me a note.

Voting in the 2016 Arbitration Committee elections is open from Monday, 00:00, 21 November through Sunday, 23:59, 4 December to all unblocked users who have registered an account before Wednesday, 00:00, 28 October 2016 and have made at least 150 mainspace edits before Sunday, 00:00, 1 November 2016.
