Wow, this is bizarre. I'd been thinking about making a template like this for a few weeks, and just yesterday I decided to recommend the creation of some templates like this and wrote up the following paragraph (along with a few other paragraphs for other, unrelated userbox suggestions):

  • Userboxes based on other personal preferences would probably be popular, e.g. "this user prefers colder temperatures" and "this user prefers warmer temperatures". Much more practical for the purposes of the encyclopedia itself would be templates which tell what time the user tends to be most active (of course, some sort of elaborate script could possibly deducate that from a user's edit history somehow, but in lieu of that we could just make a userbox with two input fields for the span of time the user believes that he is most active, in general), and would add to the time zone templates very nicely (since many Wikipedians are active at strange times relative to their time zone).

Weird how that worked out. Great job implementing a template like this! Hope you don't mind my changes. I also added the obvious counter-template, "{{User:The Raven's Apprentice/Userboxes/User Warm}}", even though I vastly prefer cold weather myself. -Silence 02:26, 4 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

That is weird. I just made the template because I saw that it was not there and thought it should be. It is even wierder that you saw it only 5 minutes later. Marcushan 23:53, 1 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I'm just weird like that. :) -Silence 01:11, 2 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I have made a new version of this that follows the german userbox decision, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Ulairix/Box/User_Cold Ulairix 20:24, 13 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
