Marvel vs. Capcom 2 Edit
[edit]I wanted to edit some of the text because in December of 2013, Marvel vs. Capcom 2 got removed from XBLA and PSN. If Capcom ever puts the game back on XBLA and PSN, then it would be a good reason to put the XBLA and PSN back on the Wikipedia page. If you still want to keep the XBLA and PSN, that's just fine. I'm just letting you know this because since the game got removed, it would pretty confusing to say that it's still on those systems. I hoped this helped you! -rockster572
- MvC2 being removed doesn't change the fact that they were released on XBLA and PSN. It would be better to mention its removal in-article. TheStickMan[✆Talk] 01:09, 15 February 2014 (UTC)
Persona 4 Ultimax confirmed additionally with Xbox 360 version on North Fall 2014
[edit]Please do not undo. It's already confirmed from trailer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d3EFoT-yvss
- Then actually provide a source next time instead of linking a NeoGAF post in the edit summary. TheStickMan[✆Talk] 14:01, 27 February 2014 (UTC)
Hi...
[edit]I noticed you are following behind me. The commonality is that each article I edited, you were there as well, altering what I've done. In some cases, undoing what I've done. Should we talk? Best, 400 Lux. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 400 Lux (talk • contribs) 09:26, 9 March 2014 (UTC)
- I don't really see a need to talk. You caught my attention with an edit I disagreed with on an article I was watching (in this case, quiz bowl), and I checked your contribution history and also reverted/changed up edits that I disagreed with. I do this with a lot of people. It's nothing personal, if you were worried about that. TheStickMan[✆Talk] 15:55, 9 March 2014 (UTC)
Ok. It would really be less work to talk and let me know if I am not doing something correct then to come behind me and undo what I've done. If you could do that next time you are undoing more than... 70% or so of my edits, then I would thank you. I am not as experienced as most here. 400 Lux (talk) 16:11, 9 March 2014 (UTC)
- I'm not going behind anyone, Wikipedia informs you when I've undone something. When that happens, I usually provide edit summaries that you can read. Please assume good faith, I mean well. TheStickMan[✆Talk] 16:26, 9 March 2014 (UTC)
I don't think you are bad, I just need to know if I'm doing something wrong. Imagine if your work was undone, your thought might be "Gosh, what am I doing wrong". :) I'm not as experienced as you. 400 Lux (talk) 16:28, 9 March 2014 (UTC)
- Well, like I've said, I usually provide explanations in edit summaries. I edit fairly often, and I just don't want to go through the hassle of going to each user talk page to explain why I've reverted them. If you ever have questions about what I'm doing, you can just come to my talk page. TheStickMan[✆Talk] 16:32, 9 March 2014 (UTC)
Dream
[edit][1] Please join. Also, it would be better if we used the pages to talk other than the history. I don't go back and check histories sometimes and there is not enough space to argue in the edit history. I actually ran out of space and I don't know if changing the page back and forth like that is against the rules or not. Thank you, 400 Lux (talk) 16:17, 9 March 2014 (UTC)
- I've responded. I don't understand why this is such a major issue, though. TheStickMan[✆Talk] 16:24, 9 March 2014 (UTC)
- Thank you so very much for your patience. 400 Lux (talk) 00:48, 10 March 2014 (UTC)
List of academic knowledge competitions
[edit]I created List of academic knowledge competitions, figured it might work as a kind of way to organize Quizbowl-esq competitions. Just wondering what your opinion is on whether this should be be deleted or ways to make this page useful.--Prisencolinensinainciusol (talk) 05:30, 17 March 2014 (UTC)
Street Fighter
[edit](Copy/pasted from you user page - from an IP, I didn't write this. Sergecross73 msg me 12:35, 17 March 2014 (UTC))
About making edits on Street Fighter page: It's true that Street Fighter is on Complex's list of best videogame franchises, but the reason why that shouldn't be said is because not all other games on that list have been mentioned in their respective wikipedia pages, even number 1 franchise, Super Mario, so why mention only some games? Secondly, the only reason why it's even mentioned is because complex is mainstream website. Just stick to strictly gaming websites in video game pages, because no one who knows anything about games cares that a mainstream website regarded some game as good.
I didn't consider my edit vandalism. In fact, I have now checked previous edits and saw that you removed information that "There are 4 animated trailers for Street Fighter IV that are meant to be prequels for the game's storyline." under "Animation". If anything you're the one doing more harm to this page than good. It took a long time to research how many trailers were made for SF4 for you to just undo it. You may delete this text when you see it.
- (Thanks, Serge.)
- You make it sound like there was a conscious decision to only include it on some pages. A user just saw a favorite franchise mentioned it and just added the source to the right article. Just because it isn't mentioned on other pages doesn't mean it should be removed from the articles it is present in.
- Also, Complex is a notable website. Why just stick to strictly video game ones? If you still have an issue with Complex you can head over to somewhere like WP:VG/RS and take it up with users there to get some sort of community consensus. If the NY Times called SF the best franchise of all time for whatever reason, that would be good enough to include it because it's a notable news source. No need to be so picky.
- I classified your edits as vandalism because you continually made the same edits with no edit summaries. That's no good, you don't get things done by just being stubborn and never saying anything. Granted, you finally did, and now here's my response. If you had done something like that a long time ago then we could have started sorting this out much sooner. Sorry for calling it vandalism, but I need communication from you, man.
- Also, I don't remember removing that passage from the animation section. Maybe I removed it by mistake in the past when I was mass reverting some other stuff. In any case, I've left it in there, with some edits to it and a CN tag because I'm too lazy to look up a source for that myself. You say I'm harming this page. I don't think so, and from looking at what you've said about me I still don't think so. But if you have any more concerns about my edits on the SF page (or anywhere else) then you can bring it up here.
- TL;DR Complex is fine, I'm not harming the article. Thanks, TheStickMan[✆Talk] 16:03, 17 March 2014 (UTC)
- I didn't think much about edit summary because I just wanted to edit stuff quickly and leave, which is why I don't have an account. I understand that Complex is mainstream website, and if you want to just state the facts, that's fine. But top X lists are generally dumb, and it was made by just 3 people who represented Complex at the time. It wasn't conscious decision to include some games on that list, but that way it's just incomplete. I've listed youtube links to animated trailers which are probably gonna get deleted but it's just for you to see that they exist. Hadouken.net did some coverage on it before it got shut down.
Ryu's Denjin charge - It's more important to note that charge increases number of hits than just damage. Number of hits = more damage, obviously, but the key thing is number of hits in that super because it leads to stun. Technically, you sound like it increases health damage of fireball, which it doesn't. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 109.92.245.27 (talk) 06:09, 18 March 2014 (UTC)
- [Shrug] Again, I don't see a need to be so picky. Yeah, you could argue about Complex not being "important" enough to video gaming, but I've gotten into arguments over that and eventually decided that it wasn't a big deal. It's fine.
- It does more damage and more stun. It's pretty straightforward, no need to be so technical about it. I don't know what you mean by "health damage of fireball", but if you mean direct damage, well, it doesn't? TheStickMan[✆Talk] 16:17, 18 March 2014 (UTC)
- Does that mean you won't undo my edit about Complex anymore?
Ryu's Denjin charge - Look, that super is designed for stunning opponents. Number of hits is more important thing to mention than damage. Number of hits is the reason why damage is increased, obviously. That image is meant to show how many fireballs it would take to stun opponent with undamaged stun bar. Number of hits and stun are the main thing to notice in that image, not health (stamina) damage. If anything, damage (for both health and stun) is technically reduced because of combo damage reduction system (each hit in a combo slightly decreases damage of the next hit).
- For the first thing: No, unless I get a better reason than "It's only there because it's mainstream". I don't see an issue with leaving it there. It's not hurting anyone, and it's especially not hurting you.
- Denjin: I know how it works. I still don't see the issue. Yes, it is a super designed to stun. It also happens to do more damage as well when you charge it up. Damage scaling post super is irrelevant here; we're just talking about the super itself, and it would be better to not go into technical stuff because this is Wikipedia, not SRK Wiki or Mizuumi or the DL Wiki.
- Mention "hits" just seems redundant and unnecessay. The increased amount of stun that it deals (AKA pretty much the entire point of that super) as a result of being charged up was already mentioned, and I never saw a problem with mentioning that, oh yeah, it does some more damage, too. Long story short, I can't fathom why you're so caught up with mentioning the increased number of hits. You can just cut right to the chase and say that more charging = more stun (+ some more damage), which is what I had in mind. TheStickMan[✆Talk] 05:38, 19 March 2014 (UTC)
- Well, I'm glad you finally decided to include the info I wrote, because just saying "damage" is technically incorrect. Damage from Denjin is lame so I didn't see the point of saying that it strictly dealt "damage". It's all about that stun. I wasn't gonna get into technical (damage scaling) stuff, I was just mentioning it. Finally, I wrote "stun and damage" rather than "damage and stun" because it sounds better. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 109.92.245.27 (talk) 20:20, 20 March 2014 (UTC)
- That's fine. TheStickMan[✆Talk] 20:33, 20 March 2014 (UTC)

Street Fighter III Edits
[edit]Stick Man if it bothers you so much, why don't you change Ibuki's profile on Street Fighter III that says the same actress plays her in all 3 games? In fact why don't I do that for you since you have an issue with redundancy when it comes to facts. — Preceding unsigned comment added by David31584 (talk • contribs) 01:36, 15 April 2014 (UTC)
- That's fine. TheStickMan[✆Talk] 01:49, 15 April 2014 (UTC)
About your reversions
[edit]Ok, so will you stop reverting my edits, or must I ask for a third party intervention? I don't want to start a 3RR
http://i60.tinypic.com/2qnyyj5.jpg
Check this screenshot, and please be a little less rude, sourcing does not always come from gaming sites, but from ingame facts as well. Thanks in advance Eduemoni↑talk↓ 18:43, 1 June 2014 (UTC)
- First of all, it's called WP:BRD. You made an edit and I reverted, so it's up to you to start a discussion instead of reverting me. Second of all, I wasn't being rude at all. I called things like I saw them and asked you for further input. If you have a problem with that, sorry, but that's how Wikipedia works. TheStickMan[✆Talk] 18:47, 1 June 2014 (UTC)
- No, wikipedia does not work that way, just because you didn't find something, doesn't mean you researched properly for it, there are offline sources and this is a clear example of one, and you stated that the section does not deserve its own section, why 2012 deserve its own? 2014 is a mark for SF4 because of its core system was changed, if you play it you clearly notices, the voice intro startover changed, the gui changed, the fonts changed, I'm going to ask for a admin intervention if you don't stop now. Thanks in advance once again. And before you cite bold, you clearly reverted my edition and didn't start a discussing, bold is an essay, and it is not a guideline, but it suggests a new way to approach what they call VIPs. Eduemoni↑talk↓ 18:55, 1 June 2014 (UTC)
- OK what? I searched all over for that, and I didn't find a single thing. If you don't believe me you can try yourself.
- And I don't think 2014 deserves its own section because the only changes were 1. Switching from GFWL to Steam and 2. Aesthetic changes. Nothing "core" was changed, that stuff will come with Ultra on the 3rd. And it was only a single paragraph, I just didn't feel like it was enough content. That's all.
- I don't know why you are threatening admin intervention as if I'm preventing you from editing. You made an edit. I reverted asking for a source. You reverted asking if I wanted to see a screenshot. I said no, reverting back. You make it again and show me the picture anyway. I look at the picture, decide that it's OK, but then make an unrelated edit while still essentially preserving yours. Sorry that you have a problem with that. TheStickMan[✆Talk] 19:06, 1 June 2014 (UTC)
- You felt, that, it wasn't enough content, really? Ain't it POV edit? or POV revert? You know it is against the rules, right? I'm working on that section to make it withstand, I'm not even the one who found out that it was 2014 ver, I saw in a forum, but I couldn't cite it, because it wouldn't be a proper source, but per WP:OFFLINE I could state it. Thanks once again. Eduemoni↑talk↓ 19:13, 1 June 2014 (UTC)
- And switching from one service to the other, even losing some stuff away in its process, is called what? For christ sake, compatibility issues rise whenever something in the core of an application is changed. Eduemoni↑talk↓ 19:15, 1 June 2014 (UTC)
- And if you revert my edit once again you engaged into a WP:3RR issue. Eduemoni↑talk↓ 19:21, 1 June 2014 (UTC)
- OK, what the hell? No, that's a POV edit. Yes, I made that edit because I felt that it didn't deserve its own section. Now you've reverted it, so now I'll go over and start a discussion over there. You are taking this way too personally. I don't want to start something but for whatever reason you sound like you want to. TheStickMan[✆Talk] 19:45, 1 June 2014 (UTC)
Christopher Gonzalez
[edit]I added information about Gonzalez' new YouTube channel. I said that he showcases combos. So what I did to avoid confusion with readers, I linked the word "Combos" to the Combo (video gaming) page for more detail.
UltraDark[✆Talk] 15:26, 2 June 2014 (EST)
- I think it would be best if you avoided talking about every little thing that he does/that happens to him. It's a Wikipedia article, not a page that's supposed to update readers on whatever he does. TheStickMan[✆Talk] 20:05, 2 June 2014 (UTC)
I did ask ChrisG on his Facebook fan page. I also saw the results from Ultimate Fighting Game Tournament 10 (Sakura, Yang, Evil Ryu) and he has two videos on his YouTube channel that demonstrate Elena's combo potential. Knowing that he mained Reptile and sub-mained Noob in MK9, thanks to his combo demonstrations on his channel, this could be evidence. ChrisG is currently exploring characters. As tournaments keep coming, I will find out who he mains. Players explore characters before figuring out who is the best. That is the norm of fighting games. Don't they own your soul? UltraDark[✆Talk]
- Could you link me? And saying he's going to main Elena because he has Elena on his YT channel is WP:OR. I know how fighting games work, but I question if you know how Wikipedia works. Also, EG player notability: I'd like it if you replied on that, because you haven't yet.
- On an unrelated note: Did you copy my sig? (EDIT: Yeah, it looks like you did. You don't need to do that, make things easier for yourself and just type for tildes: ~~~~) TheStickMan[✆Talk] 20:01, 4 June 2014 (UTC)
Better Now? UltraDark[✆Talk] 16:36, 4 June 2014 (EST)
I checked his channel, and apparently he is showing off some amazing Elena tech, which involve footsies, BnBs, j. Roundhouse Juggle Possibilities, a j. Back Corner Punish, Combo Potential and even a combo that was able to be done in Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike. Keep it classy. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCm3lijoPud2HHpgOhx7MqPw/videos UltraDark[✆Talk] 16:52, 4 June 2014 (EST)
- Haha, I didn't really mind that much, I just thought you were getting it done by copy-pasting instead of using the signature options.
- And again, that's original research. Just because ChrisG makes Elena videos doesn't mean he's maining Elena. It's no good. You didn't even answer my original question. I want to see exactly where you got the info on what his mains will be, since you apparently asked him. In other words, I'd like you to link me. TheStickMan[✆Talk] 12:30, 5 June 2014 (UTC)
I got Sakura (v2012 main), Yang (3rd Strike main), and Evil Ryu from the UFGT10 USF4 results from Shoryuken. UltraDark[✆Talk] 13:57, 5 June 2014 (EST)
- So did he tell you or did he not? TheStickMan[✆Talk] 18:01, 5 June 2014 (UTC)
Yes he did, on his Facebook fan page which is called "NYChrisG", I asked him if he was going to stick with Sakura, and he responded with Sakura, Evil Ryu, Yang, and Elena. However I haven't seen his Elena in action yet besides the YouTube Elena tech. However, I do know that Justin Wong is dropping Rufus for Elena. That could be why he is looking forward to using Elena. He may have used her at the recent Wednesday Night Fights tournament. I may have to wait for the results. UltraDark[✆Talk] 14:18, 5 June 2014 (EST)
I don't know when ChrisG was sponsored by Local Battles, but I looked at the Local Battles fan page on Facebook and the page said in the 2011 section that ChrisG would be sponsored for CEO 2011. He would then be on the team until FingerCramp picked him up. Think the GamesterGear deal where he was initially sponsored for Final Round 17 and then he would permantly join. I do not want to post the Facebook link because of Original Research. UltraDark[✆Talk] 14:17, 5 June 2014 (EST)
- For the third time now: Can I get a link to that Facebook post? Not really interested in wading through all the posts just to find one little thing.
- Also, yes, ChrisG was sponsored by them, but you don't know if they STARTED sponsoring him at that time and you don't have anything that explicitly says that, so saying that LB started sponsoring him at that time is original research. Dunno why posting a link would be a violation of original research, the fact that you came to your own conclusions is bad enough. TheStickMan[✆Talk] 18:47, 5 June 2014 (UTC)
- Also, the times in your signature don't add up. Are you using the following for sigs: ~~~~? If not, you should start. It's not hard, and easier than copy-and-pasting a new signature every time and estimating the time yourself (which to me looks like what you are doing). See WP:SIGHOW. TheStickMan[✆Talk] 18:50, 5 June 2014 (UTC)
I have the link for the Local Battles sponsorship right here. The date and reference are below the photo. https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10150623403475038&set=a.10150316848895038.577386.350643015037&type=1 Over here, here's the conversation between myself and ChrisG about his possible mains. https://www.facebook.com/NYChrisG/posts/648407868561950?comment_id=649001555169248&offset=0&total_comments=1 --UltraDark (talk) 19:50, 5 June 2014 (UTC)
- The LB sponsorship is too vague to get any info. Same goes for the ChrisG FB fan page. Neither are any good.
Evil Ryu, Sakura and Yang are fine because that's actual results. He may drop one after one. It's like Sabin dropping Rose in order to strengthen Dhalsim. I couldn't gather any information on Local Battles and the sponsorship. It's probably that he wasn't well known before CEO 2011, and that's probably true because he mainly went to weekly tourneys before that. Everything else is fine. It's just that the LB sponsorship wasn't as well known. The only thing I know about ChrisG's sponsorship about Local Battles is his theme song. ChrisG got his fame during UMvC3 where he created order. Pretty much that. UltraDark[♠Talk] 19:56, 5 June 2014 (EST)
- The SRK rank source is fine, I guess. Not the best, but works IMO. (And uh, Art hasn't dropped Rose. He still plays her. Why wouldn't he?)
- And yeah, everything else about the LB stuff is fine. Please don't re-add the theme song, though. TheStickMan[✆Talk] 00:24, 6 June 2014 (UTC)
- And again, you don't have to copy-and-paste your sig. Just use the four tildes like it says in the link I gave you. If you want to customize it, go to your user preferences. TheStickMan[✆Talk] 00:27, 6 June 2014 (UTC)
So are we going to keep the Local Battles sponsorship data on there? BTW, I am not a pro with Wikipedia so, it is difficult for me. LB sponsorship is not as well known as the FC, AGE, or GG sponsorships. I can't find the actual article on the Local Battles website so, all I know is he was sponsored for CEO (he was not well known at that time), and then was on the team until the FC acquisition. :( UltraDark[♠Talk] 10:20, 6 June 2014 (EST)
- The LB info that's in the article is fine. We know he was sponsored by them. It's too bad we don't know when, but that's fine.
- About sigs: To customize your signature, see WP:CUSTOMSIG. You don't need to be an expert at all. The basic gist of it is that you need to scroll to the top, click "Preferences", which will take you to the "User profile" tab. Scroll down to the signature section and copy-and-paste the kind of signature you want in the text box. (You can use this page to preview/test signatures, too.) Then click save, and then all you need to do get your custom sig out is "~~~~", like you did a few posts ago. TheStickMan[✆Talk] 15:47, 6 June 2014 (UTC)
Evil Geniuses
[edit]Martin "Marn" Phan and Ari "fLoE" Weintraub?
What I know is that Marn was the EVO 2010 Tatsunoko vs. Capcom champion. At that time he was sponsored with Evil Geniuses. He was also the first person to sign with Evil Geniuses for the Fighting Games Division. Marn also got his own character in Divekick named Mr. N, obviously based on his former sponsor MRN (aka Team Marn), as well as the fact Mr. N's air move was called Marneto, based on the image of Marn flying while cosplaying as Magneto in the costume IFC Yipes popularized for Marvel vs. Capcom 2 (which was later used in Marvel vs. Capcom 3). Marn got more popularity during his time with League of Legends team, Team Marn. He later went back to Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 and won a First-to-10 against Cole "Flux" Tocci. Ever since his victory against Flux, he has been attending tournaments around the globe making a return to the UMvC3 scene. People nowadays say that Marn has a better Zero than Flux. True Fact, he has played Zero in every Vs. Capcom game that had him in it (kind of like how Clockw0rk always played Doctor Doom in the Marvel vs. Capcom games). Marn left EG in early 2011 right before when fLoE, Momochi, and Choco Blanka joined
fLoE on the other hand, joined after Marn's departure. He started playing Soul Calibur II in 2003, later adopting Capcom Fighting Games as his norm. fLoE mained Rufus in Vanilla Street Fighter IV (yes, Rufus, the character who started the EG Factor). He would later play Guy in Super, as well as Arcade Edition. fLoE also used Team Evil Geniuses (She-Hulk, Wolverine, Akuma) in Vanilla MvC3, just like Justin Wong and Ricky Ortiz. fLoE picked up Yang in Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition v2012. Yang has a dive kick; EG members in the US have usually used characters with a dive kick
Marn's Zero had Sentzuizan/Alex had j. Down Heavy; JWong's Wolverine had Diving Kick/Akuma had Demon Flip/Rufus had Falcon Kick/Hwoarang had Air Raid; Ricky's used everything JWong had except Hwoarang; PR Balrog's used Wolverine, his Vanilla Dante had Killer Bee, his Doom had Foot Dive, his Vergil had j. S; K-Brad's Cammy had Cannon Strike, and he uses Dante, and Vergil in UMvC3
StickMan, I have a theory in which EG members are really prolific when they are signed with the team. JWong, Ricky Ortiz, PR Balrog, K-Brad, even Momochi, they are all really good players in v2012 (which is now USF4).
UltraDark[✆Talk] 17:18, 4 June 2014 (EST)
- I've been following the scene for years now and I know who they are, so the long explanations are unnecessary. I'm asking you to prove their notability outside of the FGC, not to tell me about their history. And your theory is, honestly, not important. Wikipedia is not about user theories. TheStickMan[✆Talk] 14:11, 5 June 2014 (UTC)
I do know that fLoE has played I Wanna Be The Guy in front of almost everybody at EVO 2012, before that he was doing playthroughs of it. Marn has got into League of Legends for a few years which helped him get more fame. What I'm trying to say is. These two are not just Street Fighter IV, but they have gotten much more attention through other games besides fighters. fLoE left in February 2014, Marn left early 2011. They have gotten some attention, but now they parted ways with their friends. They may have a Twitch channel based on their games. They are also the only two players to actually leave the team on the Fighting Game division. The more communities these players are in, they will be more well known, by players and stream monsters alike. I have never attended a tournament, but these two are both legends. fLoE has been in the scene since 2003 and he's been immigrating into all sorts of games after Soul Calibur II died, either to have success or failure. Marn started out in 2003 as well, originating with Guilty Gear (anime) and he also immigrated to other fighters, first being Street Fighter IV, then to the Vs. Capcom series, then crossing dimensions to League of Legends, and then returning to the FGC in a FT10 against Flux.
If you didn't know, Justin Wong and Ricky Ortiz are also legends and they are still on the team, playing multiple fighting games. K-Brad and PR Balrog were not legends but '09ers. If Marn and fLoE can learn something from JWong and Ricky, it's that the legends have got to be respected.
UltraDark[✆Talk] 13:50, 5 June 2014 (EST)
- Again, I don't need histories, I know who these people are and what they have done, possibly better than you do. Lots of people have come and gone in EG. Nothing you have said about Floe tells me he is a "notable alumni"; all I see is that "he's well-known in the FGC and plays lots of games". Like I said before, you have a better case for Marn, but even then, all he's had is a middling LoL team.
- I understand you are a fan of the scene, the games, the players, etc. I am too! But you are forgetting that Wiki is not written for fans, but for a "general audience". It's extremely important to keep that in mind. TheStickMan[✆Talk] 18:18, 5 June 2014 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification for June 21
[edit]Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Electronic sports titles by genre, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Smite (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

EVO
[edit]What exactly are the flags meant to represent? Is it the player's birth place or the team's base? If it's the birth place, I have a Metro International reference for both Job and PR_Balrog here. 208.54.64.132 (talk) 00:21, 2 July 2014 (UTC)
- There is no difference between Job's case and Joe Higashi, who is listed as French. Is there? 208.54.64.132 (talk) 00:38, 2 July 2014 (UTC)
- I mean the EVO talk page, but this is fine, too.
- I've always thought that the flags were for "country represented", which, obviously, is really a vague description, so I just decided to run with the flags used in the Evo brackets or Kuroppi's site (with a few exceptions that you can find discussed in the Evo talk page). I haven't been in the scene long enough to know about where Joe Higashi comes from, so can't comment on that. TheStickMan[✆Talk] 02:56, 2 July 2014 (UTC)
Didn't mean to revert your Doom edits - I saw your edit in the article history after I added Ultra results, and managed to both misread your changes and mistakenly thought I reverted those imagined changes with my Ultra edit. I'll chalk that up to not thinking straight in the elation of Luffy's win. NeoChaosX (talk, edits) 00:54, 15 July 2014 (UTC)
- Haha, I don't blame you, I was hype, too. I've had the "darn I accidentally reverted this guy's edits let me revert now oh wait I actually reverted him this time" stuff happen to me before, so it's all good. TheStickMan[✆Talk] 01:53, 15 July 2014 (UTC)
Bram Stoker Festival
[edit]Hi there, on the 1st October 2013 you undid a submission I made to the Bram Stoker Article regarding the Bram Stoker Festival. I have re-added the Bram Stoker Festival to the page as I disagree with your summation that it is of questionable notability. The Bram Stoker Festival is endorsed by the family of Bram Stoker the Bram Stoker Estate. The festival takes place in home city of Bram Stoker and it is funded by Dublin City Council and Ireland's National Tourism Development Authority, Failte Ireland. Last year over 20,000 people attended the festival. I hope this dispels any questions regarding notability? Kind regards. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Dublin60 (talk • contribs) 11:06, 18 July 2014 (UTC)
- Find more sources than the official site that cover it. If you can, it should be OK. TheStickMan[✆Talk] 14:18, 18 July 2014 (UTC)
I've added additional sources so it is hopefully now substantially supported.
Ryu fan film
[edit]I reposted my edit to the Ryu live action section with no external link. It should be fine now. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Naamonaki (talk • contribs) 18:01, 31 July 2014 (UTC)
- It's still a non-notable fan film. It's not a linkspam problem anymore, but it's a notability problem. TheStickMan[✆Talk] 18:22, 31 July 2014 (UTC)

Fighting game
[edit]It is a mass noun (probably); it's not singular. It's about a genre. "A fighting game is a genre..." does not make sense. If there must be a determiner - which I don't believe there must - then it is "The fighting game is a genre..." (and in fact this expression is used in the article body). bridies (talk) 15:31, 17 August 2014 (UTC)
- Disagree. I've never seen the expression "fighting" used to refer to a genre; always "fighting game". Per the sources, cited in the article: the Eurogamer source, for example, refers to both the beat 'em up and the fighting game in reference to the genre. It shouldn't begin "A fighting game is a video game which..." because the article is a history and discussion of a genre, and the first sentence should state this (and whoever it was that changed it to such still felt the need to link "type of video game" to "video game genre", which again tells us the sentence should just say "video game genre". bridies (talk) 15:50, 17 August 2014 (UTC)
National History Bee and Bowl / US Geography Olympiad
[edit]Hi there, I noticed that the NHBB page on wikipedia was tagged with a few issues, and I added my $.02 to the talk page. If you could have a look at edit as needed, that would be great. Also, the US Geography Olympiad page is still officially title "US Geography Challenge" although the name was officially changed to "US Geography Olympiad" over a year ago. Can you help fix that? Thanks for your help. ~~herrmadden, 26 August, 2014~~
Nintendo wiki
[edit]Was wondering if you would change the picture of the live testers on Nintendo's wiki page to the ultra hand. I would like for the Ultra Hand to be in it's place since it was the first Nintendo like device to sell over 1 million units. — Preceding unsigned comment added by SuperChillin98 (talk • contribs) 08:32, 6 October 2014 (UTC)
- I don't really think it makes much of a difference to have the Ultra Hand instead of the Love Tester. The picture is pretty small, too. Make an edit request on the talk page and see if anyone else wants to do it. TheStickMan[✆Talk] 15:39, 6 October 2014 (UTC)
Ed Ma leaving America
[edit]Last year Ed Ma left America, and he continues to live in Canada. He is working at Ubisoft Montreal. Have you ever read this page. http://www.eventhubs.com/news/2013/oct/23/ed-ma-leaving-country-and-gootecks-giving-him-proper-send-starting-ssf4-ae-v2012-set-gouken-vs-oni/ Ed Ma hasn't attended any majors recently except for Toryuken 3, Montreal Annual Tournament, and possibly weeklies in Montreal. What do you think of this article. --UltraDark:) 2 CHAT 19:08, 25 November 2014 (UTC)
I also commonly look on the Smash Wiki and a Brawl player named Leon moved from France to Canada this year.--UltraDark:) 2 CHAT 19:08, 25 November 2014 (UTC)
- Why exactly am I being shown this? Ed Ma being in Canada is old news. I've never heard of a Smasher named Leon. TheStickMan[✆Talk] 23:00, 25 November 2014 (UTC)
About the Hindi name of Dhalsim
[edit]Hi, I'm a new user in English Wiki. I want to ask you about how do you know that the Hindi name of Dhalsim is "धल्सिम"? Can you give me some source? The reason why I'm ask you is I edited "धल्सिम" in Japanese Wiki for Dhalsim, but someone undid my edit ([2]). That's why I need a source to prove my viewpoint is right. I Hope you can help me and thank you very much. Nächsten erbe (talk) 23:11, 10 January 2015 (UTC)
- I have no such source, sorry. Is "Dhalsim" even an actually Hindi name? TheStickMan[✆Talk] 01:41, 11 January 2015 (UTC)
- Probably... I guess. He is Indian. Nächsten erbe (talk) 01:54, 11 January 2015 (UTC)
- Yes, but that doesn't mean the name is real. TheStickMan[✆Talk] 02:23, 11 January 2015 (UTC)
- I have no idea either. But still appreciate it. Nächsten erbe (talk) 03:59, 11 January 2015 (UTC)

A Streetcar Named Desire, plot summary changes
[edit]Could you please take a look at the talk page for A Streetcar Named Desire? (the play.) I put my comments there. Do you really like the current plot summary? I think it is terrible. I am attempting to make a better plot summary. I think that what I had done was pretty good, although maybe a little too long. I would just like to erase the clichés about the "brutish" Stanley versus the "the faded Southern Belle" Blanche. There is a lot more to it than that. And Stella is not self-effacing; she is just not crazy, so she doesn't stand out; in fact she is a nice normal person. And Mitch isn't Blanche's manipulated victim that she toys with; they are a well-made match who have stumbled into each other. He is living at home with "Mom." Blanche is his last chance at happiness, as much as he is hers. Blah-blah-blah. Just watch and or read the play a few times. It is beautifully lyrical, and not that hard to understand. I know the dialogue so well that I can even speak "Streetcar Named Desire." meaning I can express any idea using the dialogue of that play. For example, I can tell the passenger in my car, "... buckle your seatbelts; if you hit the windshield, you won't come up until tomorrow ... Grinbriar (talk) 07:07, 23 January 2015 (UTC)
- How well you know the play is meaningless if the best plot summary you can write is one that does not read well at all/violates Manual of Style guidelines/etc. I'll look over your comments tomorrow. TheStickMan[✆Talk] 07:12, 23 January 2015 (UTC)
You have actually never made a concrete criticism. I do not know, for example, why you think I wrote in the second person. Doesn't that involve the word "you"? By your non-specific comments, I can only assume that you did not read my plot summary. Grinbriar (talk) 20:45, 23 January 2015 (UTC)
- Whoops, meant first-person (Use of "we" in the passage). TheStickMan[✆Talk] 03:00, 24 January 2015 (UTC)

Request for help with Draft:Guilty Gear Xrd Revelator
[edit]Hello! A while ago I started putting together this draft article but fell behind with it unfortunately. I've left this message on your talk page since you have recently participated in the Guilty Gear Xrd article. Hope you can give me a hand. Thanks in advance. :) Jotamide (talk) 17:06, 20 April 2017 (UTC)
