Thanks for uploading Image:Peacetowersmall.png. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).

The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: {{TemplateName}}.

Please signify the copyright information on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator.

Electoral calendar 2005 (templates)

[edit]

Hi. I was curious what was going on with Electoral calendar 2005. I found it on the short pages list and saw it was just only a template and a category. Is there some advantage to doing things like that? Just wondering!  :) —Wknight94 (talk) 21:02, 26 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Lennart Meri

[edit]

Why did you remove Lennart Meri's death from Template:In the news? Did I format it badly? Or is Meri's death a too minor news item (which I seriously doubt)? There's a mention of it in Current Events, with not one, but two links to news stories. JIP | Talk 16:04, 14 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Rollback

[edit]

Hello. I have seen you, several times, use the rollback tool in an innapropriate manner. This is especially troubling, with the relevant portion copied below:

This is rather troubling to me, personally. The rollback tool is intended for vandalism, with a few exceptions (reverting the edits by a banned user, spam, etc.). It is especially hostile and rude to revert the edits of another user in good standing, and that is especially true of a fellow administrator. The edit summary produced by the rollback too, with a link to the user's contributions page, gives the impression that the user being reverted is one who's edits should be checked carefully for vandalism, which is rude and hostile to the one being reverted. Additionally, the edit summary is inheiritly uniformative- It doesn't say why the edits are being reverted, which is the most important function of an edit summary. Thank you, and I hope that you will consider your use of this tool more carefully in the future. Best regards, Sean Black (talk) 23:09, 14 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Interim leader of the opposition

[edit]

I took the "interim" designation as informal. In any case, if we're going to be consistent, List of Canadian Leaders of the Opposition needs to be reworked as several of those listed are marked as "interim". Homey 16:47, 19 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Leadership convention infobox

[edit]

Great work! I was thinking that you might want to add a field for the "Winner" as I assume the infobox will be added to historical convetions and remain on the current Liberal one after there is a winner. - Jord 00:00, 21 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Template talk:Infobox Canada Political Party

[edit]

Hi, I added some functionality based on our discussion last year to the Infobox Canada Political Party template, I added support for territorial parties, made the seats function work and made the Presidents HQ and Leader go away for defunct parties --Cloveious 14:54, 8 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Re your CfD proposal

[edit]

Hi The Tom,
Just wanted to say that though I'm all but voting to oppose your proposal, I haven't voted because I think you're onto something in your brief essay there, but am not sure your concluding that renames to "...by nationality" will work. I have the feeling that consensus over some general system of "X of Y", "Yish X", "X by Y", etc usage is possible, I'm just not sure what it might be, where to begin or even whether I'd be able or happy to take the deep breath required before beginning... Thanks, though, for your essay; it expresses something of what has been skulking around in the back of my mind. Regards, David Kernow 18:48, 23 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Updated DYK query Did you know? has been updated. A fact from the article Rex (dog), which you recently created, has been featured in that section on the Main Page. If you know of another interesting fact from a recently created article, then please suggest it on the "Did you know?" talk page.

Canadian Town Template

[edit]

I noticed you just added a template to Lytton, British Columbia. I've been using the {{British_Columbia_municipality_infobox}} template for B.C. cities and towns. Is one more appropriate than the other, or does it not really matter at this point? — Usgnus 02:57, 14 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Trade unions of ***

[edit]

Hey there. Well, I'm glad to meet someone else who thinks "in" would be a more suitable wording in many of these categories. I'm certainly willing to go with "of", as it does seem to be the standard usage, but I'm not convinced that it is as accurate. :)--Bookandcoffee 03:07, 14 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi The Tom. You commented on the cat change proposal at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Organized Labour#Category:Trade unions by country and as you seem to be quite active in naming conventions, I'm looking for a little procedural advice. I started the discussion at the project page, rather than the CfD page, to try and engage the project editors. However, now I have a small dilemma because, of course, outside the standard CfD arena I think people are hesitant to close the discussion. Would it be appropriate if I now moved the content into the CfD cycle and let things continue? Or would it be better to put a note on the CfD talk page looking for someone to close it where it sits right now? Or is there another solution? Thanks. Chris.--Bookandcoffee 20:18, 19 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Law cats

[edit]

Hey, thanks for showing me that Law CFRU. I agree with your points and have opposed. To pass a CFRU to use "in" I think in addition to your nationality adjectives/state-centric topics point we'll have to distinguish clearly the difference in scopes between "Law in x" categories and "Laws of x" categories. Commons images on the mainpage

[edit]

Please remember to use the procedure on Template:C-uploaded when putting a Commons image on the mainpage. If an image has not been uploaded locally, then it is not protected from vandalism at all.--Pharos 23:01, 21 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Media by country

[edit]

Hey, regarding Category:Media by country and others - If the naming convention is by nationality, are they technically meritted for speedy renaming? For example, if Category:Media of Canada could be speedy renamed to Category:Canadian media, why can't Category:Media by country be renamed on the same grounds to Category:Media by nationality? I see them as violating the same naming convention, which is always grounds for speedy renaming. If this is objected to by other Wikipedians, then I think there's enough reason to move the Media-related cats into the Undecided naming convention section. Kurieeto 02:38, 22 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Please refrain from undoing other people's edits repeatedly. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia under the three-revert rule, which states that nobody may revert an article to a previous version more than three times in 24 hours. Albanian Influence in Montenegro's Referendum

[edit]

Do you care to explain why you are removing the fact that Albanian’s played a crucial role in the Referendum?Ferick 01:50, 24 May 2006 (UTC) Ok, my bad.Ferick 06:26, 24 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Kosovo

[edit]
  • 1 This has nothing to do with happy or somthing like this. The UN officel status of Kosovo is War burnied province in Yugoslavia. Beacose of that, we have three versions UN see up in this text, Serbians: Kosovo ist a district in Serbia and the Albanians Repubik of Kosovo. The UN version is the offical version. Only beacose the albanians dont wount to put there propaganda that is not meaning that the UN version is the albanian propaganda. Kosovo-Metohia and Republik of Kosovo dont exist for the UN or better to say they are history.--Hipi Zhdripi 13:36, 25 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

ITN

[edit]

Can you consider reverting your picture change, considering that the picture on reservations was added hardly an hour back? Pls. check the history in future. Also, it is preferable to have a non-flag image. It is not necessary that the image corresponds to the first entry in either ITN or "on this day." --Gurubrahma 14:36, 25 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Also, when you change pics, pls. ensure that the images are uploaded to WP and are protected. The flag of East Timor has not been {{C-uploaded}} and protected. --Gurubrahma 14:40, 25 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry, I realised that these messages should go to User talk:Cyberjunkie as he was the one who changed the picture. I've already informed him. --Gurubrahma 16:10, 25 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

What the hell is this crap?

[edit]

You removed facts from the site:
This is not right at all. -- GZLFB

The facts I added were not spam, if they were I would have only bothered with my own self serving referencing. Double check what I did first, you did it so quickly you had no time to have even seen what I have done; I linked to all candidates I could added some relevant resources and in fact even links relating to candidate(s) or party(s) I do not like or support, such as the Nude Garden Party. PS What do you know? I was a Candidate, I was involved. I was a voter, I get e-mails and so on from resources I have yet to have the time to add.

Bull! re: what is this crap?

Writing about myself....

[edit]

Had no choice, I could't ignore myself, I was one of them; am one of them. I picked out articles, links, and so on that were relevant to all of them, and at the time I had only the time for Mayoral. Did you notice anyone but me? Normally I'd be flattered by this is like cyber stalking.

The research aslo sucked come to think of it, my first hand knowlledge and resourse should have been deemed helpfull. Why remove Howell's amuzing article or even Only Mag? You could have even edited to the main directory of Only Mag.
