Howdy to all.

I have posted this to the Australian project noticeboard - I would appreciate a response there as to why such a process has a protocol of shoot first. Thanks: -

Australian film categories

[edit]

It appears the Australian project film categories have been re-arranged without prior talk or discussion or any form of warning - it would be interesting to see why and how such a process occurred - this note will be sent to the re-arrangers to request a civil and full explanation as to how such a process is done without actually going through a noticeboard first - specially when the creator of the categories is unavailable for comment: - SatuSuro 14:00, 7 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Gutting categories and then putting up for delete is not normal wikipedia procedure - anyways the correct place for all of this is at -http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Australian_Wikipedians%27_notice_board - please answer there - cheers SatuSuro 14:07, 7 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Please take any further comments to Wikipedia:Australian Wikipedians' notice board - individual talk pages are not relevant to a project wide issue like this SatuSuro 14:15, 7 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
OK I think we have gone far enough - Longhair is not around to speak for himself - I think we have made our points - trust we dont have to meet like this again - and thanks for your explanations - and as they say - have a nice day - or as that photo makes me think of it - trust we never have to meetup with anyone who tells us ' make my day ' - cheers SatuSuro 14:45, 7 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah - i really like your user page photo - it makes me think of his more recent movies - the great and weird stuff we find on wikipedia - hey - at least its all out there on the noticeboard - if someone else wants to take it up its there - as for me being 8+ hour location its over and out - cheers SatuSuro
As for him down below - hey thats off wiki - cheers SatuSuro 14:53, 7 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I for one would like to see the film subcategories repopulated at least until there has been a discussion and consensus for change. Please revert your changes. —Moondyne 15:18, 7 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Australian films

[edit]

Can you explain me, why you are moving all Australian films from subcategories in to the Category:Australian films without giving the reason you do it? Magioladitis 14:02, 7 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

--The notice in the category says to include films in BOTH subcategories AND the main category? (Note: for convenience ALL Australian films are included in this category. This includes all Australian films that can also be found in the subcategories.) Am I wrong? -- Magioladitis 14:07, 7 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Please show good faith

[edit]

Please assume good faith in your dealings with other editors, which you did not on Wikipedia:Australian Wikipedians' noticeboard. Please stop being uncivil to your fellow editors; instead, assume that they are here to improve Wikipedia. Orderinchaos 14:52, 7 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

You have as much right as anyone to edit. You however have no right to assume bad faith, walk around throwing accusations at established editors, and edit war to get your way. Such conduct is generally considered disruptive and in violation of core policy. There is more to Wikipedia than a few edits, this place is a community. reiser

[edit]

Jean-Marc Reiser rolls in his grave: not notable?? :) he is one of the most important cartonists of France, although he's been dead for quite a while. no, i'm not really offended, but wanted to tell you that other people could be (especially the French ;). there are articles about him in German and French, and i'll see what i can include in the english version, but i have a really small amount of time for this right now. i would suggest to use more neutral templates for short articles, like {{expand}}. cheers! --Sarefo 15:51, 9 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

It's good to be back...

[edit]

... and great to receive your welcome too. I'm sorry for disappearing. I got a little fed up with WP and one of my kids was quite sick - the combination kept me away for a while :) I'm glad you're still around and not letting the bastards get you down. Remember, Nil Carborundum! Cheers, Paxse 14:22, 11 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Warnings

[edit]

I wish I could be sure from the context which party you're referring to in your last comment, but I can't. If it is the subject mentioned in the headline, that really doesn't sound like him, and I think he's been freaked by the recent activity regarding his contributions. If it is the other party involved, I regret to say that recent activity of that party is such that it doesn't actually surprise me. I wish I knew which you were referring to, and maybe knew where the message you referred to could be found. John Carter 16:18, 14 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Images related to just one line in an article are discouraged. Vikrant Phadkay (talk) 15:31, 22 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Bullying

[edit]

I am concerned that you are being bullied by the fairly odious Vikrant Phadkay concerning his messages above. To see what people think of him, look here User talk:Vikrant Phadkay#Lists. He has been blocked twice before, look here [1].

The way he has dealt with you, he has definitely broken WP:NPA and WP:CIVIL. Don't let him get away with talking to you like that.

Take a look at the disgrace that is his Talk Page, note how many warnings he has received about his edits and his behavior.

He is not a Wikipedia Admin, thanks God !, just a bullying nobody.

You can complain about him at WP:ANI and definitely get him blocked.

renomination of Category:Charismatic religious leaders

[edit]

Category:Charismatic religious leaders was previously nominated for deletion by User:The Wild West guy who said "Isn't this POV?". However that CFD was incomplete because the nominator didn't tag the category itself. You participated in the previous discussion so I'm notifying you that I've renominated (and tagged) the category; discussion is here. --Lquilter (talk) 19:18, 10 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Appointment with Venus.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Appointment with Venus.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 05:06, 2 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Re:

[edit]

Well leave me alone then and stop ganging up on me. The way you treat editors who appear to be "beginners" is appalling also. Its not surprising wikipedia has built up a reputation for bullying and driving potential editors away The Wild West guy (talk) 14:54, 27 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The accusations of "ganging up" and "Its [sic] not surprising wikipedia has built a reputation for bullying..." are patently untrue. If you tell someone to "shut their mouth" you are going to be warned for incivility. Please read WP:CIVIL and no personal attacks. If you require any help at all on how to use Wikipedia, please do not hesitate to contact me. If you are a new user I highly recommend that you read Wikipedia:Introduction. Take care, buddy. ScarianCall me Pat 14:58, 27 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for the kind words, friend. But... You still told me to "shut my mouth". You wouldn't find that rude? You don't WP:OWN your talk page or user page or whatever, if you're uncivil to me on your talk page (in an edit summary in this particular instance) then it's still rude and the warning was deserved. If you feel that my behaviour has been out of order, please feel free to leave a message at WP:ANI. By the way, even though I am an admin I still would've picked up on your rude edit summary regardless of my new found "status". Of course you are free to edit in peace but please make sure your edit summaries are focused on what you're doing rather than how you're feeling. And please don't remove comments that you didn't write (which is what I originally warned you for). If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me. Orphaned non-free media (Image:LiveandKicking2.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:LiveandKicking2.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Demographics of Uzbekistan

[edit]

Hi! On February 28, 2008 (15:04) you inserted in Demographics of Uzbekistan a reference to D. Carlson, "Uzbekistan: Ethnic Composition and Discriminations", Harvard University, August 2003. The only place where I can find any reference to this document on the web outside Wikipedia-dependent sites is http://tajikam.com/forum/index.php?topic=445.msg1696, which is not necessarily neutral. Could you please tell me where to find a proper independent source that will identify David Carlson and show a full bibliographic reference to this document? A tag has been placed on File:BadInfluence.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section I7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a non-free image with a clearly invalid licensing tag; or it otherwise fails some part of the non-free content criteria.

If you can find a valid tag that expresses why the image can be used under the fair use guidelines, please replace the current tag with that tag. If no such tag exists, please add the {{non-free fair use in|article name that the image is used in}} tag, along with a brief explanation of why this constitutes fair use of the image. If the image has been deleted, you can re-upload it, but please ensure you place the correct tag on it.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. magnius (talk) 10:56, 14 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
