You might be wondering why the article on your band keeps getting deleted

Hi there, you may be wondering why your article about your band keeps being deleted from Wikipedia. I see you have submitted an AfC request to have someone take a look at it, that's a good step forward. However, it's likely it wont pass AfC as it currently stands and I thought I'd offer some advice on why. If you head over to WP:MUSICBIO and have a read (go on, I'll wait) you'll see the criteria for what is considered notable when it comes to musical artists.

As you read through the list, think "Does my band meet this requirement?". If it does, great! In that case, make sure you show this in the article an assert notability. If you get to the end of the list and you haven't discovered a requirement then, unfortunately, your band probably doesn't meet the requirement just yet. Wikipedia is not the place for up and coming artists.

In the future, you may find that you meet one of those requirements but it's still best if you don't create the article yourself as you will have a conflict of interest and it will be hard for you to maintain a neutral point of view. If the band is notable enough then someone will eventually come along and create the article for you.

I hope you stay on Wikipedia despite your page being deleted as there is plenty you can contribute to. On wikipedia we have many WikiProjects which consist of editors who share an interest in a specific subject. You could head over to WikiProject Music to find out how to contribute to other music related articles.
