Have tried to place some of info previously located here into format you've set up, and given some ideas about history, leads, areas of reserach, examples of how culture manifest itself, etc. Do you have direction of how you would like this to go? Is the focus on the Cuban community? How much would you like to indclude that it is changing to become more Ecuadorian, Andean, Guatemalean, Mexican-the evolution of the Latino/Hispanic population? It would be good to dig into the census stuff, not in too much detail, but just to show the trend and back it up with references to establish a basis or the article, before spinning off on the social/politcal/cultural aspects... The map is fantastic: North Hudson, New Jersey is a colective name for the towns in this case inclusion of Fairview (JC Heights, too is quite representative of the mix, too. Maybe a bit more PR, like downtown, but also very Central American). Let me know what you consider to be the scope as this can go many ways. I've just added some stuff to your sandbox HOTH. Maybe you could work on those things a bit. I have been avoiding work on backgound as I got myself twisted in writing and not keeping track of refereneces, but am attempting to sort out. Think I've got the politcs under control, and am trying to find a way to write the cultural imapct and streetscape stuf that it doesn't seem like original research or POV, though that's hard referening. Unfortunately had another scuffle with NIghtscream, who lives in UC and he will be checking this very closely when floated, so that's an addtional motivation to be really precies and avoid edit wars, or long debates....Djflem (talk) 21:16, 2 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Launch[edit]

Wonder if you had any time to have a look at this this article. I am cleaning up some stuff and hope to have it in a day or two. Suppose we could go with what we have and always expand latter date. Do you want to start it? The map and intro are your work and the basis, and your initiative to save it from the trash bin were my inspiration. I could could then add the other sections, and then we could play with fotos, most of which are streescape. Need to just include the bust on the Boulevard in story, plus Duarte Arch in UC. ~let me know.

Good to hear your settled. Meeting would be great, but not sure when I'll be in town. Spend much of the school year in Europe, and my travel plans are not yet settled (longer private story) and I may just be in and out (deal w/ lot's of stuff) and head to beach.
