Wow[edit]

Hello, TheresNoTime,

This is an amazing declaration. You are so brave as the Internet isn't always kind to people who make personal disclosures. I myself have suffered from periods of depression and anxiety since I was young. Like you, I manage my conditions. I think one problem that exists is that once you make an identification, people think of you as a label, as if you are that one thing, 100% of the time. I actually haven't had a depressive episode in years but it's still part of who I am, part of my history. It's just one part of my entire life. Thank you for your courage, TNT. Liz Read! @Liz: I'm so sorry I didn't see your message here until now! I'm glad you seem to be doing well at the moment, and I agree with what you're saying - I've always described my mental health as being an important but small part of "who I am", and I don't believe it defines me. It's one of the reasons why I don't want anyone to "cut me any slack" -- TNT (talk • she/they) 14:54, 20 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
TheresNoTime, I too have a history of severe mental health problems. I am considering writing my own story because I have had anxiety problems since I was 3, and Wikipedia saved me when I was close to giving up on life. Your writing only makes it more likely that the day that happens becomes a reality. Scorpions13256 (talk) 00:04, 28 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Scorpions13256: I'm glad to hear my essay has a positive impact on you I touch on some more detail in my blog post, but being open about this on Wikipedia has pros and cons -- TNT (talk • she/her) 00:41, 28 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
