Hello. Please refrain from copying and pasting things into Wikipedia, as you did with this page. Wikipedia cannot accept pages that violate the site's copyright policies. Chubbles (talk) 07:26, 26 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, adding content without citing a reliable source is not consistent with our policy of verifiability. This is especially important when dealing with biographies of living people, but applies to all Wikipedia articles. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. If you are already familiar with Wikipedia:Citing sources, please take this opportunity to add your reference to the article. Thank you. Yahel Guhan 04:42, 13 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

February 2008[edit]

Please remember to mark your edits, such as your recent edits to Barack Obama, as minor if (and only if) they genuinely are minor edits (see Help:Minor edit). Marking a major change as a minor one is considered poor etiquette. The rule of thumb is that only an edit that consists solely of spelling corrections, formatting changes, or rearranging of text without modifying content should be flagged as a 'minor edit.' Thank you. Jons63 (talk) 01:24, 22 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

March 2008[edit]

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on African American. Note that the three-revert rule prohibits making more than three reversions in a content dispute within a 24 hour period. Additionally, users who perform a large number of reversions in content disputes may be blocked for edit warring, even if they do not technically violate the three-revert rule. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing. Please do not repeatedly revert edits, but use the talk page to work towards wording and content that gains a consensus among editors. If necessary, pursue dispute resolution.

Your link is broken, so we can't see your source for "Black Americans are still the largest racial minority." Until/unless you can come up with a source that could somehow disprove the USA Today source provided, please keep this issue on the article's talk page.

Thanks for contributing.

AfD nomination of Obama family[edit]

I have nominated Obama family, an article you created, for deletion. I do not feel that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Obama family. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time. African immigrants AfD[edit]

I noticed you didn't format Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/African immigration to the United States properly or add it to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Log/2008 May 30. I've addressed this. In the future, you might want to see Wikipedia:Guide to deletion. Cheers. ~~ N (t/c) 03:42, 30 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Obama's mother's race[edit]

I explained at Talk:African American: Virtually all the editors who have written there agree that including Obama during the presidential campaign might be seen as a political endorsement.

Regarding this template, the long-running edit war between you and User:Malik Shabazz has come to my attention. As there has been no discussion of whatever the disagreement is, I have protected the template against all editors for 5 days. Although it is presently not on your preferred version, this is not an endorsement of either version. I would ask you to leave a note on the template's talk page explaining your position and inviting comment from the other party. If on the expiry of the protection the edit war resumes, I will block both of you without further warning since such a long-term edit war without any effort at resolution is not acceptable. I will also ask User:Malik Shabazz to leave a note on the template's talk page, so please keep an eye out for that and engage with the discussion when it appears. Social conservatism[edit]

Look at the title of the article, "Blacks as Conservative as Republicans on Some Moral Issues". The article says that, on some issues, the views of African Americans are closer to Republicans than they are to white Democrats (which is what the Wikipedia article says). It doesn't say anything about being more conservative than "the general American public". — Malik Shabazz (talk · contribs) 17:45, 20 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Aftrican American article internal links[edit]

Thanks for adding the great links Reconstruction era of the United States and Military history of African Americans. I'm not sure of the piped link to African American culture for African American community. The article on African Americans (see the section "$Cultural influence in the United States" ) already mentions and links to the link you gave in the lead paragraph. August 2010[edit]

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war. Note that the three-revert rule prohibits making more than three reversions on a single page within a 24-hour period. Additionally, users who perform several reversions in content disputes may be blocked for edit warring even if they do not technically violate the three-revert rule. When in dispute with another editor you should first try to discuss controversial changes to work towards wording and content that gains a consensus among editors.
