The Zen Site

[edit]

Hello, are you affiliated with thezensite.com? A Ramachandran 05:59, 7 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yes Thinman10 11:31, 8 January 2007 (UTC)thinman10Thinman10 11:31, 8 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Then Wikipedia rules prohibit you from adding links to the site due to the conflict of interest involved. It is considered spamming and will probably be reverted every time you do it. Please consider actually contributing content to Wikipedia. It is an encyclopedia, not a web directory.

Sorry. I was unaware of the rule. I had no intention of spamming , just wanted to make relevant articles available. I will desist. Thinman10 19:16, 8 January 2007 (UTC)thinman10Thinman10 19:16, 8 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks. One thing you can do is to suggest the inclusion of the link on the talk page of the article. If other editors think it is pertinent, they will then add it for you. We certainly welcome your suggestions and invite you to make other contributions. To this end, I've added a standard welcome message at the top of the page with helpful resources, etc. A Ramachandran 01:50, 9 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

login problems

[edit]

Ramachandran: When I try to login at work as apposed to logging in at home, I find that my user name is blocked. Why is that? I also notice that at work when I log in, my user name begins with a capital letter, i.e., Thinman 10 instead of lower case, i.e., thinman10. Why is that as I understand user names are case-sensitive, yes? I don't think I've done anything that warrants blocking so I'm perplexed. Any help would be appreciated.

Thinman10 22:58, 10 January 2007 (UTC)thinman10[reply]

How do you mean, blocked? Can you not log in? Or can you not edit once logged in? If the former, you may have different cookie settings at work. Logging in requires the use of cookies. If the latter, perhaps you have a shared IP address connection and someone else at your work has been blocked. Try editing without logging in. If you get a blocked message, follow the instructions on it to request to be unblocked. A Ramachandran 00:48, 11 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

License tagging for Image:Huangpo.GIF

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Huangpo.GIF. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 12:08, 31 March 2007 (UTC)

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
