Cuong Nhu[edit]

Hi, thanks for making changes to the Cuong Nhu page regarding Vovinam. There's another chap who kept changing it back to Vo Viet Dao. I'm not sure if you've had a chance to chat with him about the proper name usage. I'm glad to stick with Vovinam in the CN page, as that's what our site calls it. And the Vovinam page looks better now. But if it switches back & forth some more, I'll try to keep the CN page locked down. Thanks again for your help. Tony Jonick

Vo Vi Nam[edit]

Interesting redirect. You changed the redirect of Vo Vi Nam -> Vovinam to Vo Vi Nam -> Dao.
Why do you think this is correct ? In my oppinion this redirect is totally wrong. Dao is part of any martial art but this does not justify a redirection to Dao. Thomas 20:59, 16 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

The redirection was based on, what I presumed was, reliable data at Special:DoubleRedirects. Apparently, I was incorrect in that assumption. --AllyUnion (talk) 21:04, 16 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Re:Vovinam[edit]

Sorry for altering your work, but as a rule all Wikiproject templates belong on the talk page. The accepted wisdom is that it is generally best to keep information meant mainly for editors, such as these templates, out of the article namespace. This is standard practice, and there was also a poll on this issue a few months agothat found a fairly strong consensus for this policy. - SimonP 19:08, 17 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Allright. I missed that info. Now I know. Thanks for the hint. And BTW: No need to say sorry for editing. You were right :) Thomas 19:19, 17 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

You are listed as a participant in this Wikiproject, which appears to have ground to a halt - I'm contacting all participants to try to get things rolling again... hope you can help! -- Medains 08:57, 26 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

MA Userbox[edit]

Today, there was a merger of Category:Martial Artist Wikipedians into Category:Wikipedian martial artists. This resulted in a userbox {{User:TonyTheTiger/Userboxes/Martialartist}} being added to the category. This userbox is available to you. TonyTheTiger 21:28, 17 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Could you help me write this article?[edit]

Hello,

I was wondering if you would be willing to help me write either Seikichi_Iha or Shorin-ryu_Shido-kan. Tkjazzer 21:48, 22 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Willing: yes. Able:No. I have no knowledge on japenese martial arts. I also don't know any karatekas who are into this topic deep enugh. Sorry. Thomas 09:56, 20 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi![edit]

Hi! It was a while ago. My main reason was that the lead section included the dashes at the time... Regards. --Againme (talk) 18:56, 2 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I have nominated Vo Binh Dinh, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Vo Binh Dinh. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.

Please contact me if you're unsure why you received this message.   — Jeff G. ツ 15:02, 20 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for File:Logo_Vovinam.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Logo_Vovinam.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Do you want to opt out of receiving this notice? feydey (talk) 17:36, 18 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
