Intro[edit]

Hey there, as we have to introduce ourselves to another user on Wikipedia from our course I thought it'd be fun to say hi to another Thomas. Thomas Dalhuisen (talk) 06:23, 11 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome![edit]

Hello, Thomash1, and welcome to Wikipedia! My name is Ian and I work with the Wiki Education Foundation; I help support students who are editing as part of a class assignment.

I hope you enjoy editing here. If you haven't already done so, please check out the student training library, which introduces you to editing and Wikipedia's core principles. You may also want to check out the Teahouse, a community of Wikipedia editors dedicated to helping new users. Below are some resources to help you get started editing.

October 2017[edit]

Information icon Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you copied or moved text from Gut flora into another page. While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content, disclosing the copying and linking to the copied page, e.g., copied content from [[page name]]; see that page's history for attribution. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{copied}} template on the talk pages of the source and destination. The attribution has been provided for this situation, but if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, please provide attribution for that duplication. You can read more about the procedure and the reasons at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia.

I realize that following the rule on copying within Wikipedia may seem a bit tedious, but your mention of the title of the page you excerpted from in the sandbox does not quite meet the requirements of WP:COPYWITHIN.
