Your contributed article, Notable former players

Hello, I noticed that you recently created a new page, Notable former players. First, thank you for your contribution; Wikipedia relies solely on the efforts of volunteers such as you. Unfortunately, the page you created covers a topic on which we already have a page - Benfica#Notable_former_players. Because of the duplication, your article has been tagged for speedy deletion. Please note that this is not a comment on you personally and we hope you will continue helping to improve Wikipedia. If the topic of the article you created is one that interests you, then perhaps you would like to help out at Benfica#Notable_former_players - you might like to discuss new information at the article's talk page.

If you think that the article you created should remain separate, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Additionally if you would like to have someone review articles you create before they go live so they are not nominated for deletion shortly after you post them, allow me to suggest the article creation process and using our search feature to find related information we already have in the encyclopedia. Try not to be discouraged. Wikipedia looks forward to your future contributions. Valenciano (talk) 09:29, 7 August 2012 (UTC)

Hi, in this case I'd suggest that you think about creating a larger article to reduce the history section down, the notable former players section would logically form part of that. Valenciano (talk) 11:17, 7 August 2012 (UTC)

No, it's alright, it stays like this. The portuguese article is much more complete, it would be very tedious to translate them.--Threeohsix (talk) 11:20, 7 August 2012 (UTC)

SL Benfica archery section

I apologise for the delay — I just moved house, and my new residence has no Internet access, so I can only get online occasionally. What do you want me to do: remove the archery section from the main article, get rid of the specific article on archery, or do something else? Or do you simply want advice? Please be more specific, because I don't yet know how to help you, especially since I've never seen these articles before. Nyttend (talk) 23:40, 18 August 2012 (UTC)

Olá compatriota, tudo bem? como fizeste neste jogador, por favor atenção a três coisas: 1 - se o clube é demasiado modesto e não tem artigo na WP, for favor não pôr o "link" da vila ou da cidade como fizeste, não tem nada a ver, deixa-se a vermelho ou até sem "link", VELENSE é uma coisa, a povoação de VELAS é outra;

2 - não é preciso escrever outra vez o "link" Primeira Liga (ou outro qualquer artigo da WP) quando já se falou disso anteriormente, isso chama-se "overlinking";

S.C. Olhanense, S.C. Braga, etc), a compressão (Olhanense, Braga, Porto, etc) é na caixa somente.

Atentamente, bom trabalho e boa semana - --AL (talk) 14:04, 4 September 2012 (UTC)

Portuguese footballers

FYI... Portuguese names are different than Spanish names. Portuguese names are sorted on the last surname. Cesar Andre Costa Dias is sorted {{DEFAULTSORT:Dias, Cesar Andre Costa}}. Bgwhite (talk) 04:34, 21 September 2012 (UTC)

  • But both SPA and POR footballers (and sometimes BRAZILIANS) have a different approach than all the other nations. In some cases they are known by first name and not by any surname. So, for example, Jacobo Sanz Ovejero will be ordered in the letter "J", as he is known as JACOBO. Oceano da Cruz is known as OCEANO, goes in the letter "O", not "C" or "D". --AL (talk) 00:09, 19 October 2012 (UTC)

Rugby in Portugal

Hello, have you found sources for your edits of Portuguese Rugby Cup, Taça de Portugal de Rugby Feminino and Campeonato Nacional de Rugby Feminino on official website of Portuguese Rugby Federation? Miodzio3 (talk) 10:59, 25 September 2012 (UTC)

About the Rugby Cup it's copied from the portuguese version, but the rest is there in the website.

André Gomes - Referências

Ola THREE, AL por aqui,

Cumprimentos - --AL (talk) 13:58, 19 October 2012 (UTC)

Thank You I understand you are a fan and Benfica is a Great club, we have absolutely nothing but great things to say about the support from the fans as well as the Benfica family. I am just doing my job to protect my husband and family . We both are grateful that you are understanding enough to keep that story off of this page. We enjoyed being in Portugal and if the opportunity permits ,he would love to come back and play for Benfica someday. Thank you again and I do apologize if you were offended, as I said before I'm just defending my husband and the truth behind this story .

E agora "Toca a fazer isto e aquilo"?

Agora sim, calo-me.

Falava do Snowman. Cumprimentos, boa semana.--Threeohsix (talk) 21:13, 11 February 2013 (UTC)

re:Repeat vandalism

Hi. I would prefer that the administrators protect pages that have had bouts of vandalism more readily. When I submit a request for protection I make sure that the case is strong, as in multiple instances of clear vandalism over the last few days, because I've learned that if that's not the case the request will be dismissed. I think that's probably how it would go down if a request were submitted for the S.L. Benfica article. Other than today's ruckus, there isn't any obvious disruption visible in the first 50 edits. So, I don't think this one is ready yet, but I do share your concern. Thanks, Dawnseeker2000 18:51, 16 June 2013 (UTC)

Dicas, outros

Olá caro T.O.S, como vai isso? Espero que bem,

bom trabalho no Jorge Jesus.

Saudações desportivas.--Threeohsix (talk) 20:03, 30 May 2013 (UTC)

Obrigado pelas palavras. --AL (talk) 22:09, 30 May 2013 (UTC)

"Benfiquices" - Reply

Tibullus (talk) 22:36, 16 June 2013 (UTC)
Podes enviar-me o link?

Speedy deletion nomination of Jobey Thomas

Hello Threeohsix,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Jobey Thomas for deletion, because the article doesn't clearly say why the subject is important enough to be included in an encyclopedia.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Kyle(talk) 02:27, 7 July 2014 (UTC)

New articles

There is 3 players from Benfica B without article, they are Theirry Graça, Sérgio "Serginho" Neves and Jota. I don't know if they are notable. SLBedit (talk) 08:59, 3 September 2014 (UTC)

  • Hi there TOS, this is former user Always Learning. Please read this message i have sent to a fellow user (see here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:SLBedit#Luis_Filipe). I think you will agree with me that i never edited any Benfica-related article with wrong intentions, i always tried to improve the players/coaches articles (and NEVER edited in the club's page in eight years). Articles like Steven Vitória, Rúben Amorim, the late Mário Coluna or Ivan Cavaleiro were greatly improved by me without one negative word, but like you told the other user we must try to be as impartial as we can, i ALWAYS did that.

Last month, after a run-in regarding honours in players' articles being referenced or not (several WP:FOOTY discussions have said that we MUST reference all honours in the pertinent section, i'm not making this up), i was insulted and accused of being a Benfica hater even though i support no club at all (please see more details if you want here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:188.81.115.107). Thinking it was too much, i asked that my account be destroyed, and now do only one or two edits per week, and stopped editing in Benfica-related articles anymore because i don't want to be accused of anything anymore.

Like i told the other user, i apologize if my actions were misjudged and hurt him in any way, but now noone will have to deal with me anymore because i am 99,9999999999999999999% retired. Atenciosamente ("Attentively"), cumprimentos ("regards") --84.90.219.128 (talk) 21:48, 3 September 2014 (UTC)

Oops, did not keep my promise because i went to Mr. Coluna's article and the totals in box were wrong (some anon user added all competitions, the box is only for Primeira Liga as you know). --84.90.219.128 (talk) 22:14, 3 September 2014 (UTC)

You wrote "The SAD is a public limited company, so only stockholders (=shareholders) vote in their general assemblies." In the club's General Assemblies? "You would know because only the SAD publishes public Financial reports at CMVM, the club only publishes it to is "sócios", its where the futsal and other sports are located, and their accounts." Yes... "The club owns 40% of the SAD by the way, so its the majority shareholder (=stockholder)." Explain the other 60%. :) SLBedit (talk) 17:30, 8 September 2014 (UTC)

2013–14 S.L. Benfica season

I think you are wrong, for example, squad boxes in 2014–15 Real Madrid C.F. season and 2014–15 FC Barcelona season are updated. SLBedit (talk) 17:28, 11 September 2014 (UTC)

We can ask about it at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Football. I have time and patience to update both boxes of recent seasons. About older seasons, yes it's time consuming but also harder to add information about them. I would rather create stubs for the missing seasons, specially the 1960s, and from there expand one by one. Category

Hi there TOS,

The category you proposed to SLBEdit, "S.L. Benfica players", is 100% valid. However, when you (or another editor, whoever gets the job done first) insert it, please insert in the correct order, not at the bottom. I tried to arrange several Atlético CP players in the proper order, but did not get them all.

Example: if Benfica B is the eighth club a player has represented, please insert it as the eighth club in the category order. Categories should have this order of presentation: first personal categories (birth, "people from...", "people of...descent", etc), then "Portuguese (or another country) footballers", the player's position, "Primeira Liga players" (or another competition from another country, followed by the other divisions the player has competed in), the national clubs, the foreign clubs and competitions, the international categories (youth international footballers, under-21, A), the international competitions they appeared in (if any), the expatriate categories finally. If a player becomes a manager, then the manager categories to end it.

Attentively, happy editing --84.90.219.128 (talk) 23:06, 24 September 2014 (UTC)

  • And a big "salganhada" was what i found in Edgar Pacheco, duly cleaned it up. He NEVER played for Setúbal did he? I think NFT.com (which is very reliable) copied some info from ZEROZERO.PT (which is not reliable for WP because it is user-generated, anyone can contribute there) and now their info is also wrong.

I duly arranged/improved article to the best of my abilities, to a guy that hates Benfica (like i was accused of) i think i am helping in some articles related to the club. I left the CURRENT Benfica players and Mr. Jesus alone, but i will not be bullied around and leave all the articles alone just because someone thinks ill of me!

Again, happy editing is what i wish you, please notify me if i have incurred in some error in Edgar's page --84.90.219.128 (talk) 00:21, 25 September 2014 (UTC)

But what do you think of Edgar's current state, please? Did i miss anything? You take care there, cumprimentos! --84.90.219.128 (talk) 15:05, 25 September 2014 (UTC)

Doubt

I don't know whose idea was it, but can you and SLBEdit please stop removing the English version of the FORADEJOGO.net website and replacing it with the Portuguese one? This is the English WP, am i not correct?

In an unrelated matter (and thank you for the hundreds of infoboxes you have added in the last weeks): full name of the club is C.D. Aves, in box just "Aves" suffices, and never "Desportivo DE Aves" (if anything it would be "Desportivo DAS Aves").

Attentively (if you, however, still think i am the WP police after this, just say so and i'll leave you in peace). In your last message, you said this was a hobby for most of the people and i should relax. No, it's only a hobby for me too, sometimes i take it way too serious i admit it, but for whom it's not a hobby FOR SURE is for people like the one that attacked me because i would not allow him to write all that he wanted in several pages - that included changing the goalkeeper Beto's name to "Betoteiro"! Rivalry is THE WORST thing that has ever happened in sport, not the refereeing or the unpaid wages) --84.90.219.128 (talk) 23:31, 29 September 2014 (UTC)

  • Thanks for replying. I did just what you suggest in your message before you did so, and sent the same message to SLB at the same time i sent it to you (in fact, he was the first user that i saw altering the English version to the Portuguese one). --84.90.219.128 (talk) 16:04, 30 September 2014 (UTC)

Why is 84.90.219.128 always complaining? SLBedit (talk) 21:05, 1 October 2014 (UTC)

Atentamente --84.90.219.128 (talk) 23:55, 15 October 2014 (UTC)

@SLBedit: I become a bit worried that yours and this talkpage is being stalked by the above anonymous user. In case if you both don't know, if he will persist, you can always report him for harassing.--Mishae (talk) 05:27, 16 October 2014 (UTC)

After seeing the above comment, by Mr. Mishae, in which he advises you to treat me like a common vandal, don't worry TOS and SLB, i'll stop the communication between ourselves, don't want to be accused of anything anymore.

Thank you, goodbye --84.90.219.128 (talk) 08:26, 16 October 2014 (UTC)

Discussing only contents now, nothing else, just WP contents,

About this player, the following: 1 - why do you say he is of Portuguese descent? Not even Djalma Campos is, both were born in Angola in a "full" Angolan family. However, if you have a solid source to this claim, then by all means add it to article; 2 - you mention something in your summaries about caps varying per different sources. One thing is for sure, he does not have only six caps, from 1988-95 he also appeared for the national team, but NFT.com does not have those figures yet. This happens with many many African players, it's best to leave the field blank.

3 - i don't have any problem with the web Vedeta ou Marreta?, but one user once told me it's not reliable per WP standards, because it's only a blog. Just telling you this so you won't be surprised if someone removes this source in an article; 4 - categories, SEGUNDA DIVISÃO PLAYERS is for those who competed in our countries' third division, Campos never played there, for second level players the correct category is SEGUNDA LIGA PLAYERS.

I could have said nothing, just reverted what I wanted to revert and move on. But I came here to discuss the contents and offer valuable tips, this has nothing to do with "policing". Happy editing, cumprimentos (sorry I broke my promise of leaving you and the other user in peace, now I do) --84.90.219.128 (talk) 21:39, 20 October 2014 (UTC)

  • I don't have any problems with any users that are not vandals, but some just don't see it that way. A good source for some Portuguese footballers could also be ARQUIVOSDABOLA (here http://arquivista.wordpress.com/), for instance when you write "he scored five goals in 17 games in the 1980-81 season with Benfica to help to the X place in the table", you can add the season, which also contains all the squads with how many games and goals each player had, as a reference.

I had my entire hard work on Luís Norton de Matos' playing career removed, just because it was unref'd (see here http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Lu%C3%ADs_Norton_de_Matos&diff=613925051&oldid=611418484). Using the arquivos, I reinstated it. --84.90.219.128 (talk) 13:58, 21 October 2014 (UTC)

Good to see that you are contributing again but please use instead of - in dates and scores, stop adding your point of view, and stop making silly vocabulary and grammar mistakes. SLBedit (talk) 16:39, 31 March 2015 (UTC)

Please don't add blog sources because they are not reliable. SLBedit (talk) 16:41, 31 March 2015 (UTC)

I only "contribute" from time to time. Well, I can try but it's hard to pay attention to things that small, as you can see, my work takes a lot of time, and imagination, because you can't find what I wrote on the internet. The vocabulary is no silly than I read in UEFA.com or other season articles. My POV is as imparciable as I can, remember I am fan too, but I just can't write that its sunshine's and rainbow's when a season is shit. As hard as the truth, he have to try to pass a correct idea of what happen'. The grammer mistakes is normal when you write huge walls of text, with references in between, sometimes you just miss it. Regarding sources, it's really, really hard, you can try find better but the farther you go, the less info remains.

I hope you start improving articles in more meaningful way, not that what you do doesn't matter, but it's much easier, and less error prone. Be well, and keep working, I know you give a lot of your time for this, so you're really dedicated.--Threeohsix (talk) 16:56, 31 March 2015 (UTC)

Rui Vitória

Do you have a link for the statistics at Benfica juniors? SLBedit (talk) 14:16, 11 June 2015 (UTC)

@SLBedit: For the 2005-06 I used Zerozero; for the 2004-05, the only source I could find about that season was this, the stats are at the bottom. --Threeohsix (talk) 14:21, 11 June 2015 (UTC)

Benfica Juniors

Are players aged 18 still part of Benfica juniors team? See Yuri Ribeiro. Do they leave juniors squad when they turn 19? SLBedit (talk) 21:02, 13 June 2015 (UTC)

@SLBedit: Juniors, or Under 19 as they are normally called, are 17 and 18 olds. Juvenis are 15 and 16. It's defined by year of birth, so this years is to players from 1997 and above. Benfica posts a squad at the beginning of every season, check it in early September.--Threeohsix (talk) 10:49, 14 June 2015 (UTC)

Benfica captains

I need to know if Simão Sabrosa played a minimum 50 matches as Benfica captain (I think he did) so he can be added to the captains list. Then, I need to know when he started captaining. SLBedit (talk) 01:15, 15 June 2015 (UTC)

@SLBedit: I'm pretty sure he did, he assumed captaincy in 2003, there is even a video of him arguing with Hélder. The second captain was Nuno Gomes, who captained for a season or so, because he only became first in 2007, and then, maybe from 2008 onwards, when Nuno didn't play, it was Luisão. --Threeohsix (talk) 10:14, 15 June 2015 (UTC)

Benfica Basket

Why is Benfica basketball team referred to as "Benfica Basket"? Is that even official? SLBedit (talk) 22:18, 15 June 2015 (UTC)

No, Spanish teams use the "Baloncesto" and that's not official either; it's not to conflict with the main articles. --Threeohsix (talk) 22:29, 15 June 2015 (UTC)

S.L. Benfica (basketball) is sufficient. SLBedit (talk) 22:58, 16 June 2015 (UTC)

--84.90.219.128 (talk) 00:41, 16 June 2015 (UTC)

  • Agora, o Jorge Soares e o Edmundo.

Cumprimentos, agora "vou-me" ao Pepa. --84.90.219.128 (talk) 02:52, 17 June 2015 (UTC)

Futebol Campus

I updated some things in Futebol Campus that were outdated like "under construction", "currently being expanded". Please take a look at the article. SLBedit (talk) 22:58, 16 June 2015 (UTC)

  • Could you take a picture of Museu Cosme Damião and upload it to Wikimedia Commons? I think the current image (Museu Cosme Damião.jpg) is copyrighted not free and is not the best picture. SLBedit (talk) 23:01, 16 June 2015 (UTC)
@SLBedit: My opinion, ideally an article about a training center would look similar to Arsenal Training Centre, but that is not easy to accomplish, it depends on what sources exist. I think pictures, then text, then pictures is not very good way to display the article, I haven't seen elsewhere, maybe joining all the pictures would be better, deleting campo 1 that is duplicated.

Besides that, I have serious questions about the copyright of the pictures added, they are almost certainly taken by Benfica to be published to the press, and the copyright that it's a basic geometric form is not helping, let's hope it remains unnoticed. Regarding the picture of Museu Cosme Damião, I don't have one, but I hope to visit it soon and take pictures but using google image search, there are not a lot of results about that pictures, it could actually be taken by Novaconta himself.--Threeohsix (talk) 10:45, 17 June 2015 (UTC)

If you look at the metadata you can see it belongs to "Miguel Nunes/ASF", and "C:\Users\rvieira\Desktop\mus0001.JPG" is suspicious. SLBedit (talk) 21:56, 17 June 2015 (UTC)

Colours in tables

I'd say you're right. People would want to use the sort option, and if it's made invisible by the colours, what's the point? '''tAD''' (talk) 22:51, 18 June 2015 (UTC)

@The Almightey Drill: Okay, then we may use colours when there is no sort option. SLBedit (talk) 18:44, 19 June 2015 (UTC)

Attention please

Per this (please see here https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Football#Doubts, I was not even notified of the fact I was mentioned there), please read my reply. Thank you. --84.90.219.128 (talk) 18:25, 21 June 2015 (UTC)

  • All cool, I know your intentions were good ("Tudo bem, sei que as tuas intenções eram as melhores") --84.90.219.128 (talk) 18:40, 21 June 2015 (UTC)

Persondata

We only remove persondata when all data is migrated to Wikidata. SLBedit (talk) 19:44, 18 June 2015 (UTC)

@SLBedit:You're welcomed for the hard work...which article are you talking? I checked the wikidata of all of them and was consistent.--Threeohsix (talk) 19:48, 18 June 2015 (UTC)
Gustavo Teixeira and Jesus Munõz Crespo. SLBedit (talk) 19:49, 18 June 2015 (UTC)
@SLBedit: I see, ok, Thanks of the advice. I added a category because you didn't noticed that they're as important, if not more, than wikidata.--Threeohsix (talk) 19:56, 18 June 2015 (UTC)
And Guilherme Espírito Santo. SLBedit (talk) 19:58, 18 June 2015 (UTC)
@SLBedit: Not related to that, are those red and white colours allowed in wikitables, like for example in List of S.L. Benfica players which a sortable table and the colours totally hide it? Should I ask WP:Footy for opinion? --Threeohsix (talk) 20:26, 18 June 2015 (UTC)
I think club colours are allowed. SLBedit (talk) 20:50, 18 June 2015 (UTC)
@SLBedit: Yes, in templates, at the bottom, but I haven't seen it in wikitables, especially in such an agressive colour as red. Have you?--Threeohsix (talk) 20:54, 18 June 2015 (UTC)
I have, in Liverpool related articles. SLBedit (talk) 21:24, 18 June 2015 (UTC)
@SLBedit: I can't find what you mean, I've search almost all of their articles, and none uses colours on top of the wikitables. I've also done a big search trying to find List of players that use colours on top of wikitables and I've found none. I don't even think it's worth opening a thread in WP:Footy about this, I doubt anyone will oppose removing the colours, any thoughts?--Threeohsix (talk) 21:33, 18 June 2015 (UTC)
@SLBedit: I've managed to backtrack where this colour thing started; in September 2014, and you even said it was distractive. Couldn't understand then, why would spread them through all of the articles in 22 January. I've check MOS:COLOR and I've no doubt that it is not allowed, as it impedes readability. Any feedback or may I start removing them?--Threeohsix (talk) 10:04, 19 June 2015 (UTC)
It does not affect any table in S.L. Benfica but affects tables in other articles. SLBedit (talk) 18:39, 19 June 2015 (UTC)
@SLBedit: If you've read MOS:COLOR, you know that it's not just about affecting tables, but also readability. The explanation given in the third paragraph makes sense to me Even for readers with unimpaired color vision, excessive background shading of table entries impedes readability and recognition of Wikilinks. Background color should be used only as a supplementary visual cue, and should be subtle (consider using lighter, less-dominant pastel hues) rather than a glaring spotlight. The red and white are bright.--Threeohsix (talk) 18:48, 19 June 2015 (UTC)
@SLBedit: I think we haven't reach consensus about this. Did you understand what the manual of style says or is incovenient and you're going to ignore it? In what way, does adding colours to wikitables headers improves an article?--Threeohsix (talk) 20:08, 19 June 2015 (UTC)
Because it looks better. "impedes readability and recognition of Wikilinks" does not apply if there are no links. I have noticed sometimes you write better English, like there are two different people using the same account. SLBedit (talk) 20:17, 19 June 2015 (UTC)
I think it's not worth pursuing the subject anymore. "Because it looks better" is a baffling argument. You don't understand that i'm trying to bring those articles closer to what WP does best, and in those articles, colours in wikitables aren't even for consideration. Benfica will never have a good article if this is the way to go.--Threeohsix (talk) 20:40, 19 June 2015 (UTC)
It's not the colours in tables that is impeding the article from being considered a good article. SLBedit (talk) 23:13, 19 June 2015 (UTC)

2015–16 Liverpool F.C. season uses colours in sortable tables. SLBedit (talk) 02:40, 23 June 2015 (UTC)

Colours

As you may have noticed, I have removed (from tables) and changed (in templates) Benfica colours so it complies with "WCAG 2.0's AA level" per WP:CONTRAST. Now I need to know how to change infobox colours in Benfica basketball players. Do you know how to do it? SLBedit (talk) 16:42, 23 June 2015 (UTC)

No, I don't, the players boxes receive their colours from the infobox link to the team, so maybe there is a delay. If that bothers you much, ask at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Basketball, maybe they know why.--Threeohsix (talk) 16:55, 23 June 2015 (UTC)
It doesn't "bother" me as I am not color blind. SLBedit (talk) 17:21, 23 June 2015 (UTC)

Non-free rationale

Benfica's non-free logo can only be used in S.L. Benfica but Barcelona's can be used in different articles. How is it possible? TLSuda (an admin) didn't even bother to reply (I couldn't find an answer). Either Barça's logo rationale is incorrect or Benfica's logo can used in more articles. SLBedit (talk) 17:33, 23 June 2015 (UTC)

Deleting edit summaries

I don't think it would be best here. The normal WP:REVDEL criteria include "Grossly insulting, degrading, or offensive material", "Purely disruptive material", "Oversightable information", and "Non-contentious housekeeping". The first two are vandalism, which you definitely didn't do, the third isn't remotely close, and housekeeping is more for stuff like fixing administrative mistakes. You will note that we also have a criterion that permits "Valid deletion under deletion policy", i.e. it's okay to use RevDel to do something if it would be okay to use ordinary deletion to do the same thing. I think I could make a case for this being a G7 speedy deletion situation, author-requested, but seeing that your edits are mixed with Ajaleone's, deleting just yours would make things much more confusing, and deleting hers too wouldn't be "author-requested". So, overall, I don't think any kind of revdel would be both helpful and in accordance with policy. Any more opinions? Let me know and I'll consider them. Nyttend (talk) 21:21, 23 June 2015 (UTC)

"Changing the edits to something..." Are you asking that I change the edit summaries? That's not possible; only the developers are able to do anything of that sort, and then only by tweaking the database content to make it look like you originally said that. I'm only able to delete stuff outright. Nyttend (talk) 22:19, 23 June 2015 (UTC)
Deleting the content outright, unfortunately, would prevent proper attribution, which is required for legal purposes by the GFDL and CC-BY-SA-3.0 licenses under which Wikipedia is published. I don't think there's a way to do this, unless of course Ajaleone comes and asks that we remove it. Normally that wouldn't work, since we typically don't remove stuff just because someone asks us to, but removal requests by both editors would be enough for a G7 speedy deletion without question. Nyttend (talk) 22:38, 23 June 2015 (UTC)
