Article Cleanup[edit]

Since you were the original author of this page (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Great_American_Music_Hall) I wanted to let you know someone has marked it for "cleanup". I don't know enough about this specific subject to clean it properly, you might want to consider a partial rewrite on it. businessman332211 17:27, 27 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Lyrics and fair use[edit]

That use doesn't qualify as fair use so I removed it. Song lyrics may be used for commentary on the song itself or its lyrics (similar to the permitted uses of audio clips listed at Wikipedia:Fair use#Audio_clips). For an example of a usage of lyrics that are fair use, see Bob Dylan#Beginnings, in the paragraph that talks about "A Hard Rain's A-Gonna Fall". Bully article[edit]

Well, I've looked at the edit to the bully article, and it makes me worry that the contribution is original research. I'm leaning toward reverting and asking the anonymous contributor for a source, but I'm worried that this will cause him/her to leave Wikipedia. TomTheHand 15:00, 16 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome![edit]

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are a few good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! By the way, you can sign your name on Talk and vote pages using three tildes, like this: ~~~. Four tildes (~~~~) produces your name and the current date. If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the village pump or ask me on my Talk page. Again, welcome! Talk Pages[edit]

Basically talk pages are just places to contact a user if you need to ask them something or just say thanks (or criticise them if you need to). Check out here as well. Evil MonkeyHello 00:50, Feb 8, 2005 (UTC)

Pelican doodies[edit]

Heya, Thanks for bringing this to my attention. Apparently there was a user who added "covered in pelican sh*t" to the end of articles, and that's why this section was added. It could have a short note explaining what it means in that section! Very odd.

Incidently, welcome to Wikipedia! I'm glad to see a new and consientious contributor in our midst! I'm sure you'll one day be great at getting our articles to FA status because of that consientiousness. Would you like to help out on peer review? My goal for peer review is to make it an encouraging place for people to post articles to, in order to get feedback. We're less critical than featured article candidates and try to build up the authors more. On FAC they tend to be a bit more blunt because they need to make sure that articles that aren't up to scratch don't get to the featured article status, on PR it doesn't matter so much because the authors just need help in making their articles better. Are you interested in helping us out by reading the articles submitted and making comments on what needs improvement on the articles? - Ta bu shi da yu 00:54, 26 Feb 2005 (UTC)
