Replaceable fair use File:Karl Tilleman competing in the 1988 Olympic Games in Seoul, Korea.png[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Karl Tilleman competing in the 1988 Olympic Games in Seoul, Korea.png. I noticed that this file is being used under a claim of fair use. However, I think that the way it is being used fails the first non-free content criterion. This criterion states that files used under claims of fair use may have no free equivalent; in other words, if the file could be adequately covered by a freely-licensed file or by text alone, then it may not be used on Wikipedia. If you believe this file is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the file description page and add the text {{di-replaceable fair use disputed|<your reason>}} below the original replaceable fair use template, replacing <your reason> with a short explanation of why the file is not replaceable.
  2. On the file discussion page, write a full explanation of why you believe the file is not replaceable.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. January (talk) 12:03, 14 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Disambiguation link notification for March 5[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Pride & Prejudice: A Latter-Day Comedy, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page LDS. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

2023 Conflict of interest notice[edit]

Information icon Hello, Tilly wiki. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. GuardianH (talk) 18:16, 30 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Unfortunately, you have made unfounded accusations. I am just a Calgary native and a fan of Canada Basketball and its rich history. I have merely wanted to highlight one of the greatest scorers in history who has not received the attention his objectively verifiable accomplishments deserve.
Please note that you have no evidence of your allegations and have taken down objectively verifiable information about Karl Tilleman seemingly for no justifiable reason. It appears that you may have an inappropriate conflict of interest against him. I will be working with Wikipedia to resolve this and if necessary, report you for inappropriately flagging this page.
Because every fact cited to verifiable third parties, please inform me on how I can remove the false warnings that the article contains wording that promotes the subject in a subjective manner without imparting real information and that this article contains references to primary sources. These warnings are objectively false and I will be working with Wikipedia to hold you accountable for these misrepresentations. Tilly wiki (talk) 21:49, 2 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

September 2023[edit]

Please stop attacking other editors, as you did on Wikipedia:Conflict of interest/Noticeboard. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing. Comment on content, not on other contributors or people. Acroterion (talk) 22:22, 2 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

And here. Your accusation against GuardianH is frankly ludicrous. Acroterion (talk) 22:25, 2 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for your concern. Could you point to the language that attacks another editor? I do not believe I made any attacks on Wikipedia:Conflict of interest/Noticeboard. The closest thing I can see is that I mentioned that GuardianH's actions were inappropriate. This was referencing removing a large portion of objectively verifiable information on a Wikipedia page for allegedly being presented in a biased way when Wikipedia's dispute resolution instructs that the information needs to be improved, not removed. The fact that the user would remove so much verifiable information without following Wikipedia's dispute resolution suggests a potential conflict of interest (an objective individual would not remove vats amounts of objectively verifiable information, but remove what they perceive as biased). I also believe it was inappropriate to make this public accusation of COI without talking to me first.
I believe that you using language like "frankly ludicrous" currently inappropriately violates Wikipedia's requirements of civility and respect. I would request that you address any potential concerns you may have civilly and respectfully. Tilly wiki (talk) 22:49, 2 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I would suggest that you stop making tit for tat attacks on other editors. Accusing longstanding editors of a COI on the subject on which you are fixated is frankly absurd. And no, that's not an attack, it's an observation by an administrator who has warned you to stop behaving that way. Acroterion (talk) 23:42, 2 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for your explanation. However, the fact that a long-standing editor would delete almost an entire page of verifiable information (and thereby violate Wikipedia’s dispute resolution policy) is concerning. This should be unusual behavior for a long-standing editor.
And unfortunately, I find that your tone and choice of words continues to be inappropriately uncivil and hostile (i.e., “frankly absurd”). I would again respectfully request that you address any concerns in a civil manner. Tilly wiki (talk) 23:53, 2 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
The editor's reasons for removing the content were clearly stated. You appear to misunderstand how and when dispute resolution happens. Please address the issues that concern other editors, preferably without accusations or lecturing. I am solely concerned with your conduct. Acroterion (talk) 00:04, 3 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I appreciate that you used a more civil tone in this reply. Thank you.
While the reasons for removing the content were clearly stated, the removal still violated Wikipedia’s instruction to edit and not remove when possible. Given that the facts were supported by objective third party sources, the appropriate action would have been to edit instead of delete so much history, particularly from a long-standing user. This is especially concerning when it dealt with such important Canadian history like an Olympic world record which is not widely documented (although verifiably and reliably documented).
I was under the impression that Wikipedia administrators would be concerned with any user’s failure to comply with Wikipedia instruction, not just solely my perceived attacks on another user. Tilly wiki (talk) 00:37, 3 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
You have a content dispute. Administrators do not adjudicate content disputes. You are trying to force your version of content through without civilly discussing it, or responding to other editors. That is the problem I see here. Acroterion (talk) 13:20, 3 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for expressing your opinion. Respectfully, I believe that is an inaccurate representation on a couple of points. Someone raised an issue of perceived bias, the verifiable contents were rephrased objectively and it appears that everything has been resolved. There are other points I believe inaccurate, but I don't believe it's helpful to go through them at this point seeing that it appears that there is a consensus now that everything currently on the page is accurate, sourced and presented objectively Tilly wiki (talk) 00:44, 4 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there,
If I understand correctly, is the concern regarding "advertising" the links to videos of Olympic highlights?
Since that was video evidence of what occurred in the Olympics, I was under the understanding that that would be appropriate as a source. But I'm happy to learn more about what you're referring to Tilly wiki (talk) 08:24, 3 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
