February 2023[edit]

Information icon Please do not add or change content, as you did at Carolina Reaper, without citing a reliable source. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you. Magnolia677 (talk) 12:48, 13 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

No need to cite in this case as the linked Wikipedia page for the item in question contains the relevant information. Timaisey (talk) 12:50, 13 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Warning icon Please stop. If you continue to add unsourced or poorly sourced content, as you did at Carolina Reaper, you may be blocked from editing. Magnolia677 (talk) 14:10, 13 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

What is wrong with the citation used?
It was perfectly fine for the Wikipedia article it was taken from Timaisey (talk) 16:07, 13 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
The Naga Viper pepper was created in Cumbria and is not from Pakistan, please see here:

Yes, maybe, but the problem is that the LA Times talks about the Naga pepper (or Naga Morich) from Pakistan (and/or Bangladesh, see https://books.google.com/books?id=_a9EAAAAQBAJ&pg=PA205), not the newly cultivated Naga Viper. In other words, the article should say "The crossbreed is between a "really nastily hot" La Soufriere pepper from Saint Vincent and a Naga pepper from Pakistan", and that's the edit I just made. Yes I see, your edit is correct.
Do you want to change the info box in the top corner as it reads: "Hybrid parentage Naga Viper pepper x Habanero"
Thank you Timaisey (talk) 16:26, 13 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Timaisey, sure--but you could have done that as well! Take care, Drmies (talk) 15:54, 14 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Yea I know, but I figured you'd already had enough with me editing that page, so thought I best keep my hands off it. Timaisey (talk) 08:33, 15 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
