The chancers[edit]

The article The chancers has been or soon will be deleted from Wikipedia. This happened because the article seems to be about a subject but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable. If you can indicate why the subject is really notable, you are free to re-create the article, making sure to cite any verifiable sources. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. You might also want to read our criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 7 under Articles. -- ReyBrujo 01:44, 19 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Re: The Chancers page[edit]

Hello there, and welcome to Wikipedia. To answer your question, Wikipedia has a notability guideline, which tries to distinguish between "notable" content (from Wikipedia point of view, a notable topic is one that can be included as article) and "non notable" (content that may be in the future included, but as of now, not). According to our specific music notability guidelines, in order to justify an article, a band needs to fulfill any of these points. From what you wrote in that page, none of those points were fulfilled. If the band passes any of those points, you can include an article in Wikipedia. However, note that you will have to give references for such achievement, otherwise it will be speedy deleted (deleted within minutes of creation because of lack of notability). Even if it fulfills a point, note that Wikipedians can send the article to deletion (either because the notability reference is found to be fake or disputed, unverifiable or otherwise non notable), where wikipedians will discuss if the article is indeed notable by our guidelines, and decide whether it is deleted or not. I hope this answers your question. -- ReyBrujo 16:25, 19 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
