WikiProject Maps

Hello,

I gather you have a bot that can make wikiproject categories. Can you make it jump through the hoops and make them for WikiProject Maps please, (it was suggested I could do it myself using your bot, but I can't see where I might instigate such activity. EdwardLane (talk) 08:39, 8 October 2011 (UTC)

I've not tried this before - basically I've tagged a couple of articles with the {{WikiProject Maps}} banner - and the template currently has the assessment bit commented out (I think it will be ok once I've uncommented that). I'm looking to get something like this Wikipedia:WikiProject_Volcanoes/Assessment for WikiProject Maps - so people can see which 'top/high' importance articles need expanding/merging etc.

User:TinucherianBot/Category_tree_creation has a bunch of questions - but I'm not sure what the answers to the questions are.

I think the answer is that it's a root project, and that it probably only needs the class and importance categories. But you would probably have a better idea of what I need if I'm trying to get something like this Wikipedia:WikiProject_Volcanoes/Assessment.

I'd have thought that meant standard classes stub, start, c, b, a, ga, fa, and list, need to be created ? maybe also file, template and na?

and standard importance top, high, medium, low and NA ?

I was told on wikiproject templates that this was the place to go :) hope you can help (I've watchlisted this page short term so feel free to reply here) EdwardLane (talk) 03:27, 1 October 2011 (UTC)

Hmm just had a quick look at the bot page - and perhaps some of the manual tagging of pages with the banner that I've done in the last week could have been done by the bot (category map/cartography articles), there are probably quite a few I missed. I don't know if it can auto assess any of the articles with the banner for start/stub/whatever class, and I'm not sure if setting that in motion is much work for you or not ? If it's a hassle don't worry I think most of the bigger articles have got the banner. EdwardLane (talk) 09:55, 4 October 2011 (UTC)

WikiCup 2011 September newsletter

We are on this year's home straight, with less than a month to go until the winner of the 2011 WikiCup will be decided. The fight for first place is currently being contested by Principality of Sealand Miyagawa (submissions), Zanzibar Hurricanehink (submissions) and Australia Sp33dyphil (submissions), all of whom have over 200 points. This round has already seen multiple featured articles (1991 Atlantic hurricane season from Hurricanehink and Northrop YF-23 from Sp33dyphil) and a double-scoring featured list (Miyagawa's 1948 Summer Olympics medal table). The scores will likely increase far further before the end of the round on October 31 as everyone ups their pace. There is not much more to say- thoughts about next year's competition are welcome on the WikiCup talk page or the scoring talk page, and signups will open once a few things have been sorted out.

If you are concerned that your nomination, be it at good article candidates, a featured process or anywhere else, will not receive the necessary reviews, please list it on Wikipedia:WikiCup/Reviews. However, please remember to continue to offer reviews at GAC, FAC and all the other pages that require them to prevent any backlogs which could otherwise be caused by the Cup. As ever, questions are welcome on Wikipedia talk:WikiCup and the judges are reachable on their talk pages, or by email. Good luck! If you wish to start receiving or stop receiving this newsletter, please feel free to add or remove yourself from Wikipedia:WikiCup/Newsletter/Send. Roman Catholic moves

Tinu, about 100 pages have been moved from "Roman Catholic diocese" to "Latin Catholic diocese" by PalakkappillyAchayan (talk · contribs) without any discussion. Can you/WP:Indian Christianity talk page stalkers take care of the move backs? —SpacemanSpiff 15:48, 2 October 2011 (UTC)

Hi Tinu,

An article I created has been marked for deletion - and I agree with the rationale. Can I delete it myself? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Rudra s (talkcontribs) 12:48, 7 October 2011 (UTC)

Removal of global bot status

Hello Tinucherian. Your global bot (TinucherianBot II) is now inactive for a while. Do you need the global bot status anymore, or could it be removed ? Thanks. -- Quentinv57 (talk) 14:26, 15 October 2011 (UTC)

Singpost Global delivery

Hello Tinucherian. I notice your bot User:TinucherianBot is listed at the Signpost newsroom as being available for delivering the paper. We're having trouble with EdwardsBot's global delivery, do you think you could step in this week? The message is here and the targets are here. Thanks, Skomorokh 10:29, 18 October 2011 (UTC)

My bot has ability/approved to run on English Wikipedia only. -- Tinu Cherian - 10:59, 18 October 2011 (UTC)
Ah, you do not have a global bot? Skomorokh 11:04, 18 October 2011 (UTC)
User:TinucherianBot is not a global bot. User:TinucherianBot_II has a global bot flag but approved only for interwiki linking. You can consider putting a bot request here -- Tinu Cherian - 11:08, 18 October 2011 (UTC)
Ah okay, thanks for your help. Skomorokh 11:19, 18 October 2011 (UTC)

Full contents of WikiProject Film newsletter?

Hello, you are listed at Wikipedia:WikiProject Film/Outreach as preferring the full contents of the latest WikiProject Film newsletter. There has been a transition in newsletter writing and distribution, so I wanted to ask if you still prefer the full contents (which may have been delivered with some inconsistency in the past) or if you are okay with a link to the newsletter page. Thanks, Erik (talk | contribs) 19:49, 28 October 2011 (UTC)
