No, that is fine, you may keep them, just next time you should ask a user before you copy their userboxes, as some may not like it. You should check out Wikipedia:Userboxes and go to the gallery section, there are thousands of userboxes there to choose from, Cheers! User:Tiptoety 23:33, 3 October 2007 (UTC)

150.101.184.205

I see we both warned 150.101.184.205 about the same time. I've reported him to the Administrators against Vandalism page. Keep up the good work. --ZeWrestler Talk 23:07, 4 October 2007 (UTC)

No, we warned him for two different times. And thank you for reporting him, keep up the good work! Tiptoety 23:09, 4 October 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for the barnstar, I do find that welcoming does do a lot of good, there have even been studies done; [1] is one of them. Have a good day! Phgao 03:52, 5 October 2007 (UTC)

I add that you are doing a fine job yourself with the RC patrol and warnings! Hopefully my welcoming reduces the amount of new user testing/vandalism. Phgao 03:53, 5 October 2007 (UTC)

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Conan O'Brien. Note that the three-revert rule prohibits making more than three reversions in a content dispute within a 24 hour period. Additionally, users who perform a large number of reversions in content disputes may be blocked for edit warring, even if they do not technically violate the three-revert rule. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing. Please do not repeatedly revert edits, but use the talk page to work towards wording and content that gains a consensus among editors. Y4kk 14:29, 5 October 2007 (UTC)

  • Diff. It's not 3RR if you're reverting obvious blanking vandalism, as Ty was doing. The anon editor was reported at AIV and blocked. Thanks. Katr67 18:06, 5 October 2007 (UTC)
My reverts were reverting vandalism, and did not violate the 3RR rule as Katr67 stated above. Also it is not a good idea to Template the Regulars, and next time a simple personalized message may be a better idea, thank you for trying to stop vandalism, your contributions are greatly appreciated! Ideas for "Addicted"

I looked at both music articles and I pretty much know how the article will be structured once it is created. Still, I have not read the rules that you posted because you archived them, and yes I am a lazy person. (Sorry!) Also, I apologize again for the three weeks of not responding in your talk page. I had so much homework and other projects and I am already doing bad on only one of my classes. Sincerely, Bull Borgnine 19:16, 5 October 2007 (UTC).

Favor (Separate)

Thank you for understanding! I hope you do not mind if I ask you for a favor. See the warning a user posted on my page? Can you replace my fair use rationale with a fair use rationale box (which I do not how to create) and add iTunes Store as the source for the cover? I would really appreciate it and I hope it is not a big hassle! Bull Borgnine 19:24, 5 October 2007 (UTC)

Greetings WPOR world. Last week was great with the Barlow Road seeing lots of improvement, maybe even B class. Columbia River Plateau also saw some improvement, maybe enough to bump it to Start. On with the countdown, another two Stubs in the High category, both happen to be people: Don Schollander a multi-gold medalist; and then world-renowned bridge architect and all-around swell guy Conde McCullough. Schollander needs sources more than anything, and McCullough needs more of a bio, plus maybe a nice chart for the bridges with type/year/location/length. Vandal alert

Hi. I did leave a warning on that user's talk page, the one responsible for that "Bassgrabbing" nonsense. It's apparent he isn't here to do anything except get his yuks. - PMDrive1061 01:42, 10 October 2007 (UTC)

But that does not justify the user being blocked. Tiptoety 01:43, 10 October 2007 (UTC)

I never called for him to be blocked. I merely warned him about the consequences of adding nonsense. Looks like there was a legitimate article to redirect to, so we at least have a good redirect out of all this. Somehow though, I'm still certain that he isn't going to be making any groundbreaking edits to the quantum physics article.  :) - PMDrive1061 01:51, 10 October 2007 (UTC)

Okay, well WP:AIV is used to report users so they can be blocked. Not just users that have vandalized. Tiptoety 01:52, 10 October 2007 (UTC)

Gotcha. Didn't mean to imply something out of policy. Thanks for the help. NPP used to drive me nuts, but it's difficult to add new content during lulls here at work. So, off to slay the vandals! - PMDrive1061 01:55, 10 October 2007 (UTC)

  • Glad to do it.  :) You betcha I'll give a yell if I need anything. I no longer have admin status under my old username, but that's how I wanted it. My choice, I'm pleased to say. Thanks again. PMDrive1061 02:58, 10 October 2007 (UTC)
    • Yup. I was an admin. I had users threaten me with requests for comment all the time. One guy simply took it too far. He wrote some silly, Urban Dictionary-style dictionary definition, which I deleted and which has remained deleted, I might add. Guy flew off the freaking handle and tried running me up on charges. Vandals started smelling blood because of it. Every deletion I made was generally followed up with hassles from the vandals about how "abusive" I was. This just egged the original user on. I told the user in no uncertain terms what I thought of him and his request for comment and folded it in. I later asked a bureaucrat on the live Wikia help room to de-admin me, which he did. I swore I'd never come back. In fact, I've been gone for about thirteen of the last nineteen months. Nevertheless, here I am. I don't know what I'll do at this point. It's starting to suck up my free time during the day and interfere with my work at night. - PMDrive1061 07:47, 10 October 2007 (UTC)
  • I wasn't unaware of it at all. I'd merely forgotten about it. If memory serves, it was a fairly new procedure when I was playing "whack-a-vandal" and one I never took advantage of. Most of my reversions were taken directly from new page patrolling. Before I was an admin, I'd simply paste warnings on talk pages, much like now. Any chronic vandalism got reported to the administrator's noticeboard or to an administrator's talk page. In short, I don't recall having used it at all and I'd forgotten about it. I hope this satisfies your curiosity and I don't blame you for being skeptical in light of all the sockpuppetry and other nonsense that goes on. Tell you what: I can sign in under my old account, leave word with you here right now and you can feel free if you wish have a bureaucrat run a checkuser on me. - PMDrive1061 16:02, 10 October 2007 (UTC)
    • Here I am! Took me a moment to remember the password, but the account's still active. I hope this helps. --Lucky 6.9 16:04, 10 October 2007 (UTC)
  • And here I am again.  :) You can check the "Lucky 6.9" edit history to see that I really did edit your page. - PMDrive1061 16:06, 10 October 2007 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Ep1002oregonstatepolice.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:Ep1002oregonstatepolice.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 18:36, 10 October 2007 (UTC)

Fair use

Regarding this image, the only page it could justifiable be on under a fair use rationale is the article on OSP. It cannot simply be decorational on a list, if you wanted to re-add it to the Oregon law enforcement list. If you want to add it to the OSP page, just add it and then edit the picture page and write: this is a low resolution logo used only on the article that provides commentary about the logo owner's entity. If you want to decorate the list, try the police car picture or maybe try to find a "free" picture of a statepolice station/trooper/aircraft, etc. Hope that helps. WikiOregon COTW

Greetings once again WikiProject Oregon members. Thank you to those who help out with improving Conde McCullough and Don Schollander last week. This week is a Stub break, with a Ref improvement drive for Oregon and a request for work on Portland Police Bureau. Block rationale

He (or she?) added a half-dozen sockpuppet tags to userpages before being blocked. Blocks are preventative, not punitive, and the point was to prevent disruptive editing like that. I think that block is expired (or will be shortly) so I'm not sure what's left to say. Cheers, WilyD 00:16, 16 October 2007 (UTC)

Why do you keep trying to delete a legit article about a real person of importance. Ben doVale is person of value ,not some slocky who runs around throwing CFID or what ever ther called.

Because it does not meet policy. Take a look at WP:BIO]. Tiptoety 00:40, 16 October 2007 (UTC)

Benjamin doVale is a person worthy of notice, he has been featured in the Oregonian on several occasions, has been interviewed on the local news network several times.

Laugardagslögin 2008

why are you trying to delete the Laugardagslögin 2008 page, it is a page about the Iceandic TV show Laugardagslögin 2008, which is a song contest, and the winners will represent Iceland in eurovision. I had wrote 12 words and tried to make a table, but before i could do the first table you tried to delete it, why? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Zibjah (talkcontribs) 22:36, 16 October 2007 (UTC)

My RFA

Thanks for voting on my RFA! Although ultimately it was unsuccessful, I do appreciate the feedback. As to some of the issues you raised - for the rush thing- I want to quickly again apologize - I kind of ranted in that area because so many people had brought up what I thought was a fairly innocuous answer to a question. And as to the "backing out" - I completely agree in that an admin needs to stand their ground, and this was my own fault in that I did not phrase the answer to the question in the best way, however I was referring to the situations covered by WP:BITE and WP:IGNORE. As to the AIV thing - the lack of edits to AIV are primarily because I would typically not block users. In the same way that some users only edit articles and some users only add images - as an admin I probably wouldn't try to do everything - I would only use the tools that could best help me serve the encyclopedia (i.e. deletion and page protection). Again, thank you very much for your vote - and I will definitely strive to further my experience here at WP and gain your support next time - I might even try out AIV :). Thanks again!--danielfolsom 21:51, 18 October 2007 (UTC)

You are welcome, and no worries for "ranting" about the rush issue as i did not consider it a rant, but instead a user who was standing their ground and defending themselves and i think that is a good thing. I think that you have proven that you would as an admin stand your ground (as you proved it in your RfA). I hope that you do give WP:AIV a try as it can further your experience with admin tasks, and if you have any questions regarding it i would be glad to help. Gain some more experience, and try again in a few months and i would be happy to vote support! Thanks again! Keep up the good work! Tiptoety 22:20, 18 October 2007 (UTC)

I'm not a vandal. Vandals are half-wits. I have taken a good look at the article, and having reviewed all the discussion sincerely believe that the article in question falls WAY short of the standards expected, and the usual protocols have manifestly failed in this case. Call me a lazy editor if you like, or call me a bold one, but vandal is a bit strong! When are the moderators going to earn some respect from the rank and file on this one by deleting or pruning the article in question? Excalibur 00:12, 21 October 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for uploading Image:Sar123.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

CSD G1 for user pages

Yes, CSD G1 can apply to a user page. The general CSD criteria (G1 through G12) "apply to all namespaces", including (but not limited to) articles, talk pages, templates, images and user pages. Is there a specific deletion you wanted an opinion on? Cheers, Caknuck 06:49, 28 October 2007 (UTC)

In the case of User:Abraby‎, I'd say this probably does not qualify for a CSD G1 deletion. Not being an expert on Tamil (Tamil Nadu is a province in India) names, my best guess is that the text indicates the user's name and hometown, which would imply a specific meaning and thus would exclude it from being "patent nonsense". There appear to be no other violations of WP:USER or other relevant policies, so the page is fine by me.
If CSD G1 is cited when deleting user pages, it's usually cases of vandalism clean-up (fake user pages created by vandals are uncommon, but do show up from time to time, in which CSD G3 may also apply) or during the periodic clean up of the user and user talk pages for abandoned accounts (in which case, CSD G6 can also be used). Generally, if an editor is actively making positive contributions to the encyclopedia, harmless and/or nonsensical user pages are left alone.
Again, let me know if you have any further questions or concerns, Caknuck 08:45, 30 October 2007 (UTC)

RE:Barnstar

Thanks for the barnstar. A sigh of relief. Good work on your part as well. - Rjd0060 00:31, 31 October 2007 (UTC)

Thank You!

Hi, thanks for reverting the vandalism on my page, I had no idea that 24.226.XXX.X was on my user page. Maybe I should start one of those vandalism counters on my page! Ha. :) -BlueAmethyst .:*:. 01:34, 31 October 2007 (UTC)

ANI and thread archiving

Hi Tiptoety. This is why it is always suggested to archive/close discussions when people seem to calm down and went to bed ;) Now they woke up and came to argue about something that no admin would sort out. Thanks. -- FayssalF - Wiki me up® 09:05, 31 October 2007 (UTC)

My bad, thanks for the message! Tiptoety 14:01, 31 October 2007 (UTC)

Thank you

Thank you so much, Tiptoey, for the Barnstar you left for me. Of all the ones I ahve, I think this one has the most meaning attached to it. I will place it with pride at the top of my page! Thank you as well for all you did regarding Jeeny. Without your extraordinary initiative, we would all have just sat and worried. Thanks to you we know what's going on. Jeffpw 22:27, 31 October 2007 (UTC)

Welcome! Tiptoety 00:52, 1 November 2007 (UTC)

RE:Yes, another Barnstar!

..I'll take it! Thanks. What can I say, I'm having a good night. CYA! - Rjd0060 05:08, 1 November 2007 (UTC)

LOL. Well, I'm gonna call it a day here pretty soon. - Rjd0060 05:10, 1 November 2007 (UTC)
Most of my reverts tonight were from Special:Contributions/Straightway. Over 50 in about a half hour, which is why I got this barnstar shortly before you gave me the other one. - Rjd0060 05:15, 1 November 2007 (UTC)
Thanks again. - Rjd0060 05:20, 1 November 2007 (UTC)

Thanks

Thanks for dropping me a notice, it seems fine to me. (The coincidence that was found at the end of the tread somewhat interesting). Maybe it's a Halloween thing :) Best, --Bfigura (talk) 05:22, 1 November 2007 (UTC)

I am hoping it is just a Halloween thing. Tiptoety 05:33, 1 November 2007 (UTC)

Your note

I'm thinking you're right, especially with this guy. Probably someone who had beef with them before and doesn't realize they're gone, don't you think? delldot talk 06:36, 1 November 2007 (UTC)

JzG's not actually retired, for the record - he's still active (note the strikethrough on the 're' in the banner). But I do agree that there's a bunch of sleeper accounts that are surfacing right now. I requested full protection for a short time to see if they get bored - not sure if it'll be approved, though, as it is a talk page. Tony Fox (arf!) 06:39, 1 November 2007 (UTC)
True, but I'd almost rather leave it unprotected as bait for the sleepers. I mean, I'd rather have them vandalizing that one page so we can catch and block them than have to find out who they are and which pages they're going to. To me, they're not doing much harm if they're just going after that page, we know to watch it. Plus it's a user talk page, so that could be annoying to genuine users. But if someone else wants to protect it that's cool. delldot talk 06:47, 1 November 2007 (UTC)
I'm with you :) delldot talk 06:51, 1 November 2007 (UTC)
No prob, thanks for the heads up on it. Peace, delldot talk 07:00, 1 November 2007 (UTC)

Possible image deletion warning

Yea, sorry about that, i was at school/lunch and was unable to add fair use rational/source. Have done so now. Cheers! Tiptoety 21:04, 1 November 2007 (UTC)

Admin Nomination

Thought you'd like to know that many people support you, including me! I said this about you. "I am sure Tiptoety will be a great admin. He works hard to make Wikipedia a good place! He has made many vandals turn into better people. Including me. He taught me how to make Wikipedia a better place. I totally support Tiptoety!" Good Luck!Empezardesdecero123 23:49, 1 November 2007 (UTC)

Thank you for your support. Tiptoety 23:50, 1 November 2007 (UTC)
Any day for a friend! Empezardesdecero123 23:53, 1 November 2007 (UTC)
It appears your adminship nomination is derailing. If you'd like to discuss this, please feel free to leave me a message. Jeffpw 14:30, 2 November 2007 (UTC)
I have posted again on the nomination page, reaffirming my support for you as an administrator. Should this not go forward, do keep trying, and I'll have some suggestions for you (including letting me nominate or co-nominate you in the future!) Jeffpw 14:42, 2 November 2007 (UTC)
