Hi. I noticed that you are marking most of your edits as minor. Edits should only be marked as minor if they are truly superficial and could never be the subject of a dispute. For example, fixing typos is a minor edit, while adding content or templates is not. Concretely, these are some edits that were marked as minor and should not be marked as such: [1] [2] [3] [4] [5]. Thanks. Glaucus (talk) 15:15, 9 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

The current wording of the lede has been extensively discussed before, in particular [6]. If you disagree with it, the most effective way of changing is to address the original arguments (on the talk page) and point out, according to wiki guidelines (WP:POV, WP:RS etc), why and how it should be changed. Simply repeating the edits after others have reverted it is not a good way of getting your point across, and is a good way to start an WP:EDITWAR, which no one wants. Cheers. I just tend to try and space out Wiki-links whenever possible rather than putting two in a row, since the identical color tends to decrease the individual impact of each link (and the likelihood that they'll be considered and clicked on separately). I could be wrong in this perception, it's just been a consistent practice of mine when possible. As for changing "filling" to "it is filled with", I have no good reason at all, and would be perfectly happy with either.

I try to walk a fine line between expressiveness ("it is filled with" being closer to that) and conciseness ('filling" being closer to that), but I don't feel strongly about everything, so have at it. Thanks a lot for your message, and happy editing! Court Appointed Shrub (talk) 12:46, 27 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

You're an explosives scientist? How interesting! During my time in the Army, you might say I was on the "applications" end of the field, so I am always excited to meet people from the "design" end. ;-) I currently work in security and risk consulting, so I tend to have to give a lot of advice on the various properties and relative risks of the various explosive compositions. Spent most of 2009 endlessly facepalming as America ran around in circles in terror when they realized there was such a thing as a liquid explosive. Spent an equal amount of time last month trying to patiently explain to people during the Boston marathon bombing that white smoke with white residue and an uncracked sidewalk meant a chlorate-based homebrew, not black powder bought legally from the hardware store. Sigh. Ignorance breeds panic. Court Appointed Shrub (talk) 02:51, 29 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Additionally, isn't it "explosive filler", not "filling"? Whichever, I don't really care. It's minutia to me. Court Appointed Shrub (talk) 02:54, 29 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Here's a tasty cheeseburger.

Thanks for asking instead of just insta-reverting when you had a question about the wording of my edit. Respecting each other's edits makes Wikipedia a pleasant place. Court Appointed Shrub (talk) 13:58, 27 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
