Hi,

It must be demoralising to have your first contribution to Wikipedia deleted! I'm sorry, I didn't realise you were so new at the time. The Wikipedia:External_links#Advertising_and_conflicts_of_interest guidelines suggest that if you feel your own website is relevant, you should mention it on the discussion page of the article in question and have other reviewers decide whether or not to include it. I visited your website and could not find any 'free' advice, perhaps you should make it's availability more clear on your site. Hence I decided to delete it, which in retrospect was harsh considering you are new, and I didn't get in touch with you - I apologise. (I have been a regular visitor for a while, but am pretty new myself to contributing). I have now mentioned your website on the article's discussion page, and hope for input on whether or not the link is suitable.

In my opinion wikipedia, as far as MMC is concerned, is a place to find a NPOV consensus appraisal of the situation, away from the political rhetoric and anger which seems to dominate doctors.net.uk, but able to highlight important facts which are glossed over by communications from the MMC team.

I'm sure most if not all doctors know that commercial services such as yours are available from a number of sources. Junior doctors are now in particular need of sound career guidance, whether for progressing in medicine, or for leaving medicine. However I would question how much more you know about the new MMC system than anyone else, as I get the impression that the MMC team themselves aren't sure how it's going to work out (certainly communication as regards ST opportunities seems to have been poor and late in coming), and are probably working very hard in difficult circumstances to get everything sorted in time.

As a final year medical student I am hopeful that I can progress my chosen specialty (ideally I'd like a career in academic psychiatry/public health, with a good degree of clinical involvement to ensure my work is relevant), and not get forced out of the profession. You never know, I may be a paying client of yours in the future, but for now would certainly appreciate being pointed to whatever free assistance you have which may be relevant to me.

Thanks for this most helpful and constructive reply, which I have only just found. I'm not sure how to reply to you - whether this way or through your talk page. Maybe you can advise. I've also reponded the other way, and will watch to see how this should be done. I will contact you again when I'm clearer how to do it. Regards,

TW (will also sort out adding signature!)

Your talk page, my talk page.... it's not clear is it? Seeing as we're discussing a particular article I think it's best to continue that discussion on that article's talk page (have pasted this post on my page, both your pages, and the MMC talk page).

Ah, now I see the article(s) in your blog pointing it out. Genuinely sorry I didn't look more thoroughly! A link to that blog would be good in the short term, but it wouldn't be so 'in your face' obvious as soon as you post a new article in your blog. If you somehow incorporate an ad for free MMC advice on your front page I could reinsert the link to your front page, and it would also be obvious to those who come across this site by other means.

Let me know which of those options you'd prefer, and I'll put up the relevant link. Alternatively you may have another suggestion, in which case please let me know. Regards, sebzeppelin 00:42, 11 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
