Help me![edit]

Please help me with... Hi, I am looking to move the last sentence of the lead in the current Styrax japonicus page to the cultivar section, since it seems like a detail that doesn't need to be within the general introduction and better suited to be replaced with 'Due to its plentiful flowers, the tree has been widely cultivated in Western gardens.'

Please advise whether this would be a suitable change and if so, how I would be able to move the previous writer's content without just copying and pasting. Thanks Tmerom (talk) 23:12, 3 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I think your idea of moving that sentence makes sense. No particular extra steps are needed; moving material around within an existing page is a very common editing activity and can be accomplished by simple cut-and-paste operations in the editor.
Your new sentence is making a statement that really ought to be based on a source. Perhaps the Matthew Lobdell source would work for that? (And, while you're in there, you could correct the author's name ordering in the cite.)
