Hi. Could I make a request regarding your close? The log entry did indeed say G6, but that was a clerical error on my part. The correct CSD was G5. If you could update your closing statement to reflect that, I'd appreciate it. Thanks. -- RoySmith (talk) 21:25, 6 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

RoySmith: Sure; I'll add a note. I did find G6 a bit curious, but figured it was some SPI curiosity. Tol (talk | contribs) @ 23:07, 6 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
It was more like, "moused over to the wrong menu item by accident and didn't realize it until it was too late" :-( -- RoySmith (talk) 23:09, 6 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@RoySmith: Don't worry; it happens to everyone. I've added a note. Thanks for letting me know! Tol (talk | contribs) @ 23:16, 6 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

The "Processing..." notification appears on all pages and doesn't hide (except for on edit forms). Qwerfjkltalk 13:40, 8 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Qwerfjkl: Well, it's marked as "in progress" (thanks for trying it out, though!). Currently, running that JavaScript will just run the cleanup (it'll try to find the form and clean up the text); I test it by creating a bookmark to javascript:importScript('User:Tol/AutoCleanup.js');, which runs the code. So, on an edit page, you can click the bookmark to run the cleanup. I eventually intend on adding a button to the edit form, which would run the cleanup. (Also, it should only work with the default WikiEditor; I intend to add 2017 wikitext editor and VisualEditor support and some point.) Tol (talk | contribs) @ 14:57, 8 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Question from Singlepringle123456 (03:46, 1 April 2022)[edit]

hello are you a boy or girl email me at (Redacted) --Singlepringle123456 (talk) 03:46, 1 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Singlepringle123456: I'll go ahead and respond here: no, not the place for this. Bsoyka (talk) 05:39, 1 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I've redacted an email address in the above comment (and I concur with Bsoyka). Tol (talk | contribs) @ 23:39, 6 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I can see it in the version history. Cool guy (talkcontribs) • he/they 14:26, 11 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Cranloa12n: I don't think it qualifies for RevDel or oversight (and so many intermediate revisions would need to be deleted that it would have some collateral damage), but removing the email address from the live page (leaving it in the history) still removes it from search engine indexing. Question from Cranloa12n (14:30, 11 April 2022)[edit]

Hello. What does "uw" mean in warning templates? --Cool guy (talkcontribs) • he/they 14:30, 11 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Cranloa12n: It stands for "user warning". Tol (talk | contribs) @ 14:32, 11 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Question from Kurodela (07:18, 12 April 2022)[edit]

Hi! I’m new to Wikipedia and I’m keen to make edits/share knowledge. I specialise in entomology and 20th century diplomatic history as those are my main interests. Do you have any advice of where to start?

Many thanks,

Kurodela

[yes, my username is just a k- added to the Latin name for salamanders for some kick] --Kurodela (talk) 07:18, 12 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hi @Kurodela, and welcome to Wikipedia! The introduction should give you some general information about how to edit. You may also be interested in WikiProject Insects and WikiProject International relations. Tol (talk | contribs) @ 21:46, 12 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Question from Narbine[edit]

You left a message on my page about me using capital B for Black people and I responded with a follow up question but you didn't respond. I still don't understand why some pages have black people and other pages have Black people. I've read the provided links you sent (which were pretty helpful!) and multiple pages but I still don't understand. Narbine (talk) 00:53, 18 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

(Replied at your talk.) Tol (talk | contribs) @ 01:13, 18 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

AutoCleaner[edit]

Hi, just an FYI that I've forked your script at User:Qwerfjkl/scripts/autoCleanup.js (mostly just adding some regexps). Happy editing! Qwerfjkltalk 21:07, 20 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Wow, @Qwerfjkl, you've added quite a few; I hope you don't mind if I copy some of those back into my script! Anyway, it's good to see that people are using and forking my work; that's what it's there for. Tol (talk | contribs) @ 18:53, 21 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

No Sources[edit]

Tol, there are no sources for my changes to the nickname of Mooresville, Indiana. It is a local nickname given to the town in 2019 by the class of 2016 Tolkien DeBoy (talk) 02:11, 22 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Tolkien DeBoy, if there are no sources, it shouldn't be added to Wikipedia. Please see our verifiability policy. Tol (talk | contribs) @ 02:13, 22 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

TolBot 13B[edit]

Hi, no rush, but in case you hadn't seen, WP:Bots/Requests for approval/TolBot 13B was approved so we're set to go whenever you're ready. Thanks for your assistance with this task. Letcord (talk) 08:23, 27 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
