Comment from 71.17.144.182[edit]

I'm confused. I'm using your won reference [1]

Why is this disruptive? 71.17.144.182 (talk) 04:57, 5 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Regarding your edits to William Lloyd Garrison, the disruptiveness stems from the undue emphasis placed on labeling him as an "antisemite" in the lead sentence. There is already a section of the article discussing his antisemitism; it is not prominent enough to be included in the lead (he is not most widely known for his antisemitic views). Tol (talk | contribs) @ 05:01, 5 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Also, as The Herald notes on his talk page, your other edits to this page contain clearly non-neutral, unencyclopedic text. Tol (talk | contribs) @ 05:03, 5 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hey buddy, I have found at least four sources that back up my statement. These will be added in due course. Please do remove it. Thank you. Ash.david (talk) 19:22, 6 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Ash.david, this is not how Wikipedia works. You need to actually cite these sources (and they must be reliable sources). Please revert yourself, and restore the information only when you can actually provide these sources through inline citations (which are required under the verifiability policy, as this material has been challenged). Tol (talk | contribs) @ 19:32, 6 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I do not answer to you, and I am fully aware how wikipedia works. Either contribute positively to the page or leave. It's that simple. Ash.david (talk) 19:39, 6 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
The choice is yours. Ash.david (talk) 19:41, 6 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
By adding unsourced content, you are not contributing positively to the page. I am centralising discussions on the article's talk page and closing this discussion. Tol (talk | contribs) @ 19:42, 6 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Idea for TolBot feature[edit]

I'm not sure how much of an edge case this is, but I've just come across a situation where an editor was awarded the title of {{Administrator without tools}}...and then got a message from TolBot the next day due to them being listed at Wikipedia:Administrators without tools/Endorsers. I just thought I'd let you know in case you think it's worth building in a notification exclusion if the person receiving the title is the one that would be notified :) All the best, ‍—‍a smart kitten[meow] 22:13, 6 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Well, that's a bit of an unforeseen situation. Thanks for letting me know, @A smart kitten; I'll see if I can build in a check for this case. Tol (talk | contribs) @ 03:57, 7 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
