Saab 17 Undos

Care to explain your blanket undos on Saab 17? I made a considerable number of corrections to formatting and grammar whose erasing cannot be readily justified. - NiD.29 (talk) 15:23, 27 December 2020 (UTC)

Why are you making changes in the information box? All of the information is correct and even the format is clean. You deleted the caption without any reason. Feel free to fix grammar and images but don't do changes in the information box. Leave it be.

That still doesn't justify your edit warring and lack of edit summaries.

The caption is unnecessary and doesn't add anything useful (no one cares that it is at a particular airshow on a particuar date, and the inclusion of that is making is VERY UNclean), and that doesn't explain your reversal of all the OTHER changes I made. If they really want that information, it is with the image. The first image has one job - illustrate the aircraft that the page is about.

Empty fields that do not need to be included.

Changes to convert + abbr=on to cvt, and adding cvt calls where previously it was in the old format.

Before you revert changes, perhaps you should actually read all of the changes you are reverting - there is still no justification for you undoing what I did. Your caption isn't even correct, as it is not a Swedish Air Force aircraft, as it isn't on the strength of the Swedish Air Force, but rather a museum. Information that can be added to the other image of the same aircraft further down the page. - NiD.29 (talk) 15:48, 27 December 2020 (UTC)

Some final comments - I wasn't the first person you blindly reverted - pages you edit are not "owned" by you and can be altered by anyone, with the only restrictions being that changes be supported by references, and that the formatting style/date style/language style remain as is, if there isn't a good reason to change it. If you are interested in improving articles, random spaces and weird formatting that bloat the page is not the way to do it (most of the world pays for data, and page size should minimized for the material provided). Your 63 Saab 17 edits made zero difference to the quality of the page but added substantially to wikipedia's archive storage requirements (which costs money). To make a difference, you need sources, and to add material, which you have not done. Translations from other Wikipedia versions

Hi Tomaten05, when you create a new article at en.wiki by translating a sv.wiki article, as you did with Alf Nilsson, you have to add an attribution to the original. The process is described here. Secondly, please don't use any machine translated text in article space; if you do use a machine translation as your starting point, please put it in your user space or Draft: space to begin with, and make sure to revise it thoroughly before moving it to mainspace or submitting it for review. As an aside, it is usually much easier to write the article from scratch instead of translating an existing article, because it's too easy to get stuck in sentence structures and phrases in the original language that make no sense in the target language. "The band is back together" or "The band are back together"

I saw your edit at the Frankie Goes to Hollywood article (https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Frankie_Goes_to_Hollywood&diff=1035792179&oldid=1034368968). Man did I open a can of worms researching who was right on this one. The Soundgarden and R.E.M. pages use the singular "was," while Pink Floyd and The Beatles use the plural "were." Do you know have a MOS somewhere that highlights this? I can't find anything definitive online. I did see an interesting discussion about sports teams, though. Apparently the plural is used when discussing the Lakers (for example) that includes the players, i.e. "The Lakers/Heat/Thunder/Jazz are a basketball team" but you should use the singular when discussing the front office, i.e. "The Lakers organization is doing a good job..." Righeira song articles

I think the articles you have created recently for Righeira songs such as "Italians A Go-Go" and "Tanzen Mit Righeira" are not notable and do not pass WP:NSONG. Most of them use unreliable and user-generated sources such as Discogs, and they simply state facts such as who wrote the song, and which albums it appears on – this does not make a song notable. By the way, your translation of the Rolling Stone article on "Tanzen Mit Righeira" is wrong – it's actually an insult, he is saying that the song is even more dumb than the usual Italo-disco songs. I have been searching a little bit and it seems the track was released as a radio single somewhere late 2008-early 2009. I have found some links where it is stated that it was even one of the most played songs on radio, which means it is a single! I just need to find the release date, but this is what I have found so far:

• ELLE: "Resultatet blev bland annat singlarna 17 år och Stopp..."
• Expressen: "Bland de tio mest spelade svenska låtarna har både Veronica Maggio och Amanda Jenssen två låtar var med, 'Måndagsbarn' och '17 år' samt..."
• Tio-i-topp mest spelade svenska verk i SR med minst en Stimansluten upphovsman (mer än 1 300 spelningar)

"Correct order"

Regarding this edit summary, the template documentation is only an example. It is not something any user is obligated to follow—certainly not something any user should be going out of their way to change, as you've done—and you claim it's "correct", yet you haven't preserved the spaces between the parameters or anything else about it, just the order of parameters. Most websites, at least all the ones in the Hung Medien series, have the artist listed before the song (in both the URL and on the actual chart listings), so the single chart documentation is contrary to that fact. Vocal and instrumental denotations are not part of a song's title per MOS:POPMUSIC: "For titles of works and releases, purely descriptive phrases in parentheses or after dashes, such as "remix", "acoustic version" and "remastered", should not be considered part of song titles and should be placed outside quotation marks."
