Poker articles

[edit]

Thanks for the helpful additions to the poker articles. You might want to consider joining the Wikipedia:WikiProject Poker. So far, most of the people in the project have been more focused on getting articles about poker events and poker players, but a few of us, myself included, have been trying to focus on the core articles concerning probability, play, strategy, etc. There is a lot of room for improvement on these articles, and from what I've seen, you could help. Thanks, —Doug Bell talkcontrib 02:36, 24 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Hans Ulrich Rudel.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Hans Ulrich Rudel.jpg. The image description page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. For assistance on the image use policy, see Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 02:06, 1 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Image included rationale, but the Bot missed it. I prefaced the rationale with the word "Rationale" and moved it above the fairuse tag. Maybe that'll help.--Toms2866 16:56, 1 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Invite

[edit]

I hope you will join up at Wikipedia:WikiProject Gambling... if only because you motivated me to do it after you posted the consistency stuff to the Poker project page. Since there is so much overlap between the poker and gambling articles, and since there are so many more poker ones, it would be nice to just say a similar style should also apply to all the gambling ones, but we really can't say something like that from the Poker project. Anyway, I hope you will add your name there. Thanks. 2005 01:36, 18 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

WikiProject Gambling userbox

[edit]

Hi Toms2866, I created code that can be added to your userpage to create a userbox if you wish, see Wikipedia:WikiProject Gambling/Userbox. I used a subpage instead of creating a template to keep away from the userbox debate. Regards, Accurizer 15:03, 6 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free image File:Hans Ulrich Rudel.jpg

[edit]
⚠

Thanks for uploading File:Hans Ulrich Rudel.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of "file" pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Courcelles 03:50, 16 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
