The article Westfield Ladies FC has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

If the league they're in isn't notable, I doubt the team is. They also don't seem to have played at a high level in the past.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. I dont really understand why the Westfield Ladies page is proposed for deletion. I am the coach of this team and proof of its existance can be found at the league's external web page here http://full-time.thefa.com/ProcessPublicSelect.do?psSelectedSeason=2160027&psSelectedDivision=4855588&psSelectedLeague=388619 Topbanana66 (talk) 16:49, 11 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The article has been nominated for deletion because the nominator does not believe that the subject is notable. Wikipedia does not allow articles on everything/person/organization that exists; thus, proving that it exists is not sufficient for it to have an article. Rather, you need to show that it's notable; usually, that means that the organization needs to have been covered in detail in multiple, independent, reliable sources. If it has, you should add those to the article (if you don't know how to format them, don't worry, someone else can fix that for you). If it hasn't, then the article will probably be deleted. How do i show that an article is notable? Topbanana66 (talk) 17:07, 11 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

You add references that show "significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject." Significant means more than just listing-type mentions; reliable excludes Myspace, Facebook, blogs, places where anyone can post anything; independent excludes the subject's own website, affiliated ones and anything based on press releases. The test is, have people not connected with the subject thought it significant and important enough to write substantial comment about?
