Hello,

Can you please provide a justification for your decision to revert the good faith changes I made to the Irish people article. I can think of no reason why mythology should be presented as historical fact in the opening paragraph of the article. The changes I made reordered the introduction of the article the present fact before legend like any encyclopedia should.

I have no interest in engaging in an edit war, but as you can see other editors have already moved to revert the changes you made. Please use the article's talk page to try to gain a consensus before making further changes to the opening paragraphs.

Thanks — Preceding unsigned comment added by GallaghersGreek (talkcontribs) 04:31, 29 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Im sorry, im busy at the moment so i could not answer your message and im having some difficulties editing as my account has been blocked for some reason,,anyway the reason i reverted your edits is because it is not accurate to start the topic with an account of ethnically recent movements into Ireland,,be it mythology or not,,there must be an attempt to account for the ethnic groups who occupied Ireland before recorded history first.--Totalrecallman (talk) 03:40, 31 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The Prehistoric Ireland article provides an account of the people living in Ireland before the beginning of recorded history. The opening lines of the Irish people article link to this. This article is about the modern ethnic group and nation. It is entirely accurate to include details of other groups that have merged or joined to form the modern Irish nation in the introduction to this article. In my opinion, even any mention of legendary/mythological groups such as the Tuatha Dé Danann or the Milesians should only be included in the introduction at all with a very clear indication that there is no historical evidence whatsoever to suggest that they ever really existed.

I assume you are aware that your account has been blocked for sock puppetry. GallaghersGreek (talk) 05:16, 31 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry again for the late reply

In defining the Irish as a people you must take into account all factors i agree, but it is misleading to portray recent movements into Ireland and proposing that this is what makes up the Irish people as an ethnic group, there are many people now born in Ireland who are born of a second generation mixed Irish/Polish ancestry and they are Irish citizens but they are not entirely Irish either,If you cross reference your opening statement with modern genetics you will see that they do not match up, this is because Irish people have a deep genetic imprint from ethnic groups who were present in Ireland before recent movements onto the island, and this is what comprises them as a people--Totalrecallman (talk) 00:44, 4 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

Im sorry there must be some kind of mistake,I have not made any edits but i have undone what i see as misinformation on the Irish people page and restored preexisting edits, maybe my account is showing different but it must be a mistake, i am quite new and i'm not sure what is happening--Totalrecallman (talk) 00:55, 4 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

There's no misunderstanding. We believe on the basis of technical and other evidence that you are a sock. You haven't made any edits? What are these, then? Daniel Case (talk) 16:46, 4 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

There is no mistake at all. And there is a clear reason. You are blocked. You are not allowed to use other accounts. It's simple: you are not allowed in any way to be an editor on Wikipedia right now.
