User talk pages are subject to the general userpage guidelines on handling inappropriate content (see User pages § Handling inappropriate content).

While the purpose of article talk pages is to discuss the content of articles, the purpose of user talk pages is to draw the attention or discuss the edits of a user. Wikipedia is not a social networking site, and all discussion should ultimately be directed solely toward the improvement of the encyclopedia. User talk pages must serve their primary purpose, which is to make communication and collaboration among editors easier. Editors who refuse to use their talk page for these purposes are violating the spirit of the talk page guidelines, and are not acting collaboratively.

Personal talk page cleanup[edit]

The length of user talk pages, and the need for archiving, is left up to each editor's own discretion.

Although archiving is preferred, users may freely remove comments from their own talk pages. Users may also remove some content in archiving. The removal of a warning is taken as evidence that the warning has been read by the user; this is true whether the removal was manual or automatic, and includes both registered and unregistered users. Some new users believe they can hide critical comments by deleting them. This is not true: Such comments can always be retrieved from the page history.

There are certain types of notices that users may not remove from their own talk pages, such as declined unblock requests and speedy deletion tags (see User pages § Removal of comments, notices, and warnings for full details).

I meant no harm. Genuinely. That man who kept undoing all my talk page edits enraged me. He deleted everything on my OWN talk page numerous times for no reason. I only wanted to do general copyediting. My first article was to be about Zhou Xinyu, and instead of improving the existing draft, I sought to create a better one, which I realise was wrong. I'm not an admin, but let me get this straight. First of all, looking at your contributions, I do not see any positive copyedits you've made. On the draft Draft:Zhou Xinyu, you've either deleted content or blanked it whole, hijacked the draft to an Icelandic singer, or straight up vandalized the draft. You've also moved the draft multiple times without explanation. Second, judging by the state of your talk page, it clearly shows that you are WP:NOTHERE. Moreover, among the words that you've said to NmWTfs85lXusaybq, this and this is a clear violation of WP:NPA and will not be tolerated. Also, you said that your talk page is getting deleted for no reason by NmWTfs85lXusaybq. I'm going to echo the above. Myself and another page mover had to fix your move vandalism, and tried to raise concerns with you on your talk page, after which you continued. It's all WP:GAME to them. They must be an experienced vandal or LTA to learn to move pages to MediaWiki talk namespace so that it's harder for admins to find it. As long as their talk page access gets revoked, they will keep socking and vandalism immediately with another account. Gonna be honest. Literally not even an experienced vandal, this is just a way to kill time. Moving pages is not at all difficult, it just shows your stupidity in finding it hard to find it. I imagine I will at some point create a sock, but for now I shall stick to my diary.

This is because if the edits were made in good faith, they are not vandalism. Assume good faith yourself; instead of calling the person who made the edits a "vandal", discuss your concerns with them.
