Welcome[edit]

Hi and welcome to Wikipedia. I see that you have been making some constructive edits and I believe you will be a fantastic contributor to the project. I also see that you nominated yourself to be an an administrator. You are going to need months of contributions before anyone will consider you to be a legitimate applicant. I recommend you keep editing and contributing, then in about six months you read WP:GRFA and then reconsider nominating yourself. If you have any questions please feel free to drop me a line on my talk page. J04n(talk page) 13:50, 7 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for submitting your RFA. While I applaud enthusiasm, I'm afraid you do not yet possess sufficient knowledge and experience for the community to have confidence in your readiness to become an admin. But that does not mean that we will never have confidence in you.

For the most part, it requires at least 3,000 edits in a variety of areas to learn policy and guidelines well enough to attempt adminship. Nominees need to show the ability to contribute a number of significant edits to build the encyclopedia.
However, if you work on vandalism patrol, most people would like a few thousand more.
The Admin tools allow the user to block and unblock other editors, delete and undelete pages and protect and unprotect pages. Nominees will therefore do well to gain experience and familiarity with such areas as WP:AIV, WP:AFD, WP:CSD, Wikipedia:Protection policy, and WP:BLOCK to learn when to do these things.
As an admin, you will inevitably have to...
  • Explain clearly the reasons for one's decisions.
  • Review one's decisions and change one's mind when it is reasonable to do so.
  • Review one's decisions and stand firm when it is reasonable to do so
  • Negotiate a compromise.
Admins need a familiarity with dispute resolution. The ability to communicate clearly is essential.
Article building is the raison d'être of Wikipedia. I recommend significant participation in WP:GA or WP:FA as the surest way to gain article building experience.
If you are not the type of person who likes to write content, there's plenty of other article work you can do (WikiGnomeing for start).
  • My suggestion would be to place a {{db-g6}} tag at the top of the page and try again in another 3 months and/or 3,000 edits. Many nominees have found it helpful to submit an Editor Review or to receive Admin coaching before submitting their RfA and after passing that benchmark. Hope this helps. Good luck and happy editing. ArcAngel (talk) (review) 18:59, 7 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I am sorry, but I have closed your Request for adminship prematurely. Simply put, you only have 38 edits on Wikipedia; while your edit count isn't the only determining factor, and numerous people have their own personal standards by which they judge RfA candidates, this particular RfA was all but assured of not passing.

I am sorry about this, and I hope you don't take it personally. If you continue to contribute to the project in a positive fashion, I am confident that you would be able to submit a successful RfA in the future. You may wish to consider applying for an evaluation by other Wikipedia editors for feedback on how to obtain the necessary experience. Once you are ready to request adminship again, there is a great admin coaching program available, as well as a guide to requests for adminship.

If you have any other questions about becoming an administrator, please don't hesitate to ask me. Good luck! –Juliancolton | Talk 19:17, 7 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Parrot AR.Drone[edit]

Tell me EXACTLY what is unnotable about the article? has anything of it's sort been made before? If yes, I'll mark it for CSD MYSELF, if NO, then find a PROPER reason and POST it on the talk page please. --Rsrikanth05 (talk) 19:56, 7 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

No references to the application. ToxicWasteGrounds (talk) 19:58, 7 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Well.... I just started on the article..... I'm still in the process of adding content. PLEASE stop taggni, before understanding. And lack of references DOES NOT make it Unnotable.. --Rsrikanth05 (talk) 20:02, 7 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Ok, sorry :( ToxicWasteGrounds (talk) 20:02, 7 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

No problems. Please do read the comments I've left on your RfA page.. --Rsrikanth05 (talk) 20:10, 7 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  • Rsrikanth05: lack of "significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject" does make a subject non-notable. Don't complain that you just started: don't start an article until you have the refs! ToxicWasteGrounds: the phrase I usually use is "no evidence of notability". Now here is a perfect case for actually starting an AfD discussion. Let us see if you can do it properly. Incidentally, I recommend Twinkle for deletion nominations especially AfDs. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 21:50, 7 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Hey hey hey, I'm for that, take it to an AfD, atleast that way others can give their input. BUT NO Prods, and CSDs for article that you have no idea about. The only reason I feel this would be notable enough is that it seems to be the first commercial quadricopter toy on Earth, along with the fact that it can be controlled with [what the rich might call], an everyday item like an iPhone or iPod Touch.. --Rsrikanth05 (talk)

A tag has been placed on RazzarKay requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article, which appears to be about a real person, individual animal(s), an organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable. If this is the first page that you have created, then you should read the guide to writing your first article.

If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the article (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Shirik (Questions or Comments?) 22:00, 7 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute to Wikipedia, at least one of your recent edits, such as the one you made to Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, did not appear to be constructive and has been reverted. Please use the sandbox for any test edits you would like to make, and read the welcome page to learn more about contributing constructively to this encyclopedia. Thank you. Hi ToxicWasteGrounds. I noticed you created an RfA page some time ago. I was wondering as to what the status of that RfA might be. Please let me know if you still intend to run for adminship with that RfA; otherwise, I'll go ahead and delete it for you in about a week or so from today. Regards, FASTILY (TALK) 09:21, 9 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

You may delete it as I have decided to edit more articles and wait for a bit longer. Thanks for the interest. ToxicWasteGrounds (talk) 13:37, 9 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Wolfgang Hegewald requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content. You may wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. iBendiscuss/contribsHow's my driving? 18:57, 9 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The article Head dick has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

WP:NEO

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Hey[edit]

I just stumbled upon your page and you interest me. Can you tell me more about yourself. Thanx :)--WikiGirlia1990 (talk) 14:47, 10 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hey, I'm a 21yr old librarian working at a school in England and the admin work that happens around there like keeping an eye on students and blocking inappropriate webpages got me interested in this whole Wikipedia thing. My sense of humour is...strange but I do enjoy joking about like everyone else. I am quite interested in Playstation games like GTA IV, FIFA 10 and Uncharted 2 as well as many other things like web design, video editing and sound editing. Nice chatting to you! :D ToxicWasteGrounds (talk) 15:06, 10 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

What kind of school? Primary, high school, or college? --WikiGirlia1990 (talk) 15:11, 10 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

A high school ToxicWasteGrounds (talk) 15:16, 10 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Oh, cool. How did you get hired? --WikiGirlia1990 (talk) 15:22, 10 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I was a student at the school and when the previous librarian was retiring I decided to go for an interview for his job. As I knew a lot about English and IT, they gave me the job. It is pretty cool just sitting there on a computer blocking websites, sending notices about overdue books and doing what I want. What job do you do? ToxicWasteGrounds (talk) 15:54, 10 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I still live with my parents; but I'm thinking about going into college. What year did you get the job? What's the school like?--WikiGirlia1990 (talk) 16:25, 10 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I got it late 2009. The school is alright in my opinion. If I was still a student I probably would feel like killing all the teachers but having a job there is a lot better. Good luck in college. :) ToxicWasteGrounds (talk) 16:26, 10 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Good luck at your job too . ~_^. What do you mean by "kill all the teachers" BTW? --WikiGirlia1990 (talk) 17:05, 10 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

When I was a student I just hated it so much that I feel like I could kill all the teachers as it was that boring but at the end of the day you can't help but think that you wouldn't get anywhere without them so you should be thankful. ToxicWasteGrounds (talk) 17:08, 10 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Really? What else was it like for you when you were a student? --WikiGirlia1990 (talk) 17:26, 10 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hard work and a lot of pressure given by the teachers to make me hand in my coursework. ToxicWasteGrounds (talk) 17:35, 10 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Oh... so you had a problem handing your coursework in? --WikiGirlia1990 (talk) 17:46, 10 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I am using a proxy which ANYBODY can access meaning ANYBODY could have done it. Why would I want to vandalise my own userspace? ToxicWasteGrounds (talk) 21:39, 23 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I don't know why anyone would do that, but since all of Ingolme's edits happened between 12:16 and 12:21 UTC, a period during which you did not make any edits, and since you for some reason actually did [1] this to your own userpage, it seems at least plausible. Anyway, since I made the block I won't be the one reviewing this, but I felt it needed to be asked. Beeblebrox (talk) 21:47, 23 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

[2], I do recall this situation however you don't have the full story, I was just testing something on my userpage to see how things on Wikipedia work. I don't make edits all the time so it may have just been co-incidence that this "Ingolme" character appeared. Per Beeblebrox's comment and your acceptance and what appears to be a clean sock record I am unblocking you. As we said please remember that this is basically a 1 strike warning and if you repeat your problems (especially vandalism, attacks or BLP issues) you can be reblocked without warning. As always let me know if you have any questions, asking first better then begging forgiveness is this matter :)

Request handled by: James (T C)

Unblocking administrator: Please check for active autoblocks on this user after accepting the unblock request.

  • It hasn't been all that long, and this user did show a high degree of deliberately refusing to get the point, by continuing to add WP:BLP violations, attack pages, and so forth. If we are going to spool out some rope to this user, it would have to be with the understanding that there will be no more warnings and that a single incident of vandalism, adding blp violations, creating attack pages, or any other kind of bad-faith editing will result in an immediate re-instatement of this block, and it would be extremely unlikely to ever be lifted again after that. If they can agree to that I'm ok with an unblock. Beeblebrox (talk) 21:28, 25 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Your Eschmitt89 (talk · contribs) report on WP:AIV[edit]

At first glance it doesn't seem like vandalism. If the article is a hoax it should be re-tagged as such. Re-creating a non-notable article once is not vandalism, though would be disruptive editing if continues repeatedly. Can you explain? Peter 19:41, 30 April 2010 (UTC)

I had mistaken the user's contributions as vandalism due to the constant recreations. I do admit my mistake as when I first tagged the article, I was unaware that it was constantly recreated. I do apologize for this and I will re-tag (if not deleted) as a hoax. ToxicWasteGrounds 19:45, 30 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, I'll take a closer look once the WP:AIV backlog is cleared. Peter 19:48, 30 April 2010 (UTC)
I've now had another look. What I found was that the article is not a hoax, so that wouldn't have been an appropriate tagging. The 'constant recreations' was one recreation. The 'vandalism' was almost certainly a good faith attempt at editing. Although misguided from a WP:COI point of view, it is not vandalism. It would be disruptive editing if it continued, but please assume good faith and remember not to WP:BITE. Thanks, Peter 20:25, 30 April 2010 (UTC)
I will. Thanks for helping :) Regards, ToxicWasteGrounds 20:29, 30 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Greetings! Just sent the above-referenced article to AfD. Was initially thinking of CSD for it but hesitated. Regardless, noticed when I went to the author's talk page to verify that my notification had landed there properly that you nominated what appears to be the same article, apparently since deleted and recreated, for speedy deletion. Is this the case? If so, on what grounds was it deleted? I ask because if this is a speedy candidate (G3 seems to maybe apply), I'd rather go that route than waste AfD time. The album the article discusses blatantly doesn't exist. ɠǀɳ̩ςεΝɡbomb 07:20, 2 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I nominated it as a hoax (G3) as it was blatantly obvious that it is fake and I really can't see Britney Spears naming an album like that. I'll warn the creator for recreating deleted material. Thanks for the heads up :) Regards, ToxicWasteGrounds 08:42, 2 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
