- Please bear these points in mind while editing Wikipedia
- Respect copyrights – do not copy and paste text or images directly from other websites.
- Maintain a neutral point of view – this is one of Wikipedia's core policies.
- Take particular care while adding biographical material about a living person to any Wikipedia page and follow Wikipedia's Biography of Living Persons policy. Particularly, controversial and negative statements should be referenced with multiple reliable sources.
- No edit warring or sock puppetry.
- If you are testing, please use the Sandbox to do so.
- Do not add troublesome content to any article, such as: copyrighted text, libel, advertising or promotional messages, and text that is not related to an article's subject. Deliberately adding such content or otherwise editing articles maliciously is considered vandalism; doing so will result in your account or IP being blocked from editing.
- Do not use talk pages as discussion or forum pages as Wikipedia is not a forum.
The Wikipedia tutorial is a good place to start learning about Wikipedia. If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the village pump or ask me on my talk page. By the way, you can sign your name on Talk and discussion pages using four tildes, like this: ~~~~ (the software will replace them with your signature and the date). Again, welcome! --Dave ♠♣♥♦™№1185©♪♫® 15:24, 12 April 2012 (UTC)
Lone Star Flight Museum
[edit]Thanks for adding the hurricane damage to Lone Star Flight Museum. I added a newspaper article from 9/28 as a reference, but if you have the actual reference you used on 9/17 please add it also, that way people know exactly where your information came from. davidwr/(talk)/(contribs)/(e-mail) 13:55, 29 September 2008 (UTC)
- Please note that I have deleted this edit which you've added into the article page of BRP Gregorio del Pilar (PF-15), due to the fact that it is unencyclopedic (and per point number 2 of WP:NOT#NEWS, which states that News reports. Wikipedia considers the enduring notability of persons and events. While news coverage can be useful source material for encyclopedic topics, most newsworthy events do not qualify for inclusion. For example, routine news reporting on things like announcements, sports, or celebrities is not a sufficient basis for inclusion in the encyclopedia. While including information on recent developments is sometimes appropriate, breaking news should not be emphasized or otherwise treated differently from other information.). In future, please refrain from adding such unencyclopedic information, thank you for your cooperation. --Dave ♠♣♥♦™№1185©♪♫® 15:21, 12 April 2012 (UTC)
Copyright
[edit]Thanks in advance for any work you might do related to removal of copyrighted material.
Some others have pointed you to some great resources.
I'll also note that I have started a convection of adding a section to the article talk page, with a section heading of "Copyright review", adding to the body the link to the source material. If the material is not online, it would be helpful to identify it sufficiently that someone else could track down the material and find it.
Here's an example:
