A good start

I'm pleased by the way things are shaping up. Hopefully, you're not finding your restricted permissions too irksome. Not sure how much longer I'll be editing tonight (my time), so enjoy your Wikibreak and I'll "see" you back here in a few days.

If there's something that:

  • needs to be done urgently and
  • I'm not around and
  • it's sat waiting for clearance

please do NOT email me, as discussed at the mentoring page.

What I want you to do is to draw another admin's attention to this edit and to your request. I am happy for another admin to vet it. However, the hassle of mentoring is something I've taken on my own shoulders, not those of the admin community in general, so please don't abuse this - it's for something that needs doing urgently. --Dweller (talk) 18:51, 28 November 2007 (UTC)

Noted.--Porcupine (prickle me! · contribs · status) 18:53, 28 November 2007 (UTC)

Further - you may edit the admins' talk page to get this done. --Dweller (talk) 18:56, 28 November 2007 (UTC)

I'm available for talk as well

I've contacted Dweller to say that I'd not have a problem with you editing my talkpage - I leave it as an exercise ;-) to find the thread on my and Dweller's talkpages, as threads got a little crossed tonight (29th Nov, something in the Wiki went all pear-shaped and the database was locked for some minutes). The upshot was that Dweller says he hasn't a problem with that. One thing though - Dweller is in charge, and any questions/requests regarding restrictions or whatever must go to Dweller, not me. I'm not about to get into a "he says this, you say that" argument! This is not necessarily just for urgent things, what Dweller says above still applies. I think it's sensible not to communicate with me by email though, for the reasons D gives. Cheers, and hope you're enjoying your Wikibreak Tonywalton  | Talk 23:14, 29 November 2007 (UTC)

OK, very good of you!--Porcupine (prickle me! · contribs · status) 08:07, 1 December 2007 (UTC)

In Use

Thanks for the InUse template on the Seven Carries article. I try not to edit new articles live, but sometimes I get interrupted in the middle of what seems like a quick create.

Incidentally, I recently uploaded a picture of a house nicknamed The Porcupine, so-called because it had so many good points. Cheers! -- Mwanner | Talk 17:37, 1 December 2007 (UTC)

Cleared

I rarely edit at weekends. Cleared now. --Dweller 11:37, 2 December 2007 (UTC)

Fair enough - sorry to spoil your rest!--Porcupine (prickle me! · contribs · status) 18:31, 2 December 2007 (UTC)
Sorry. You seem to be doing fine so far. You can do vandalism-related talk page warnings freely, but please do take note of the comments at the Mentoring page about template warnings - they make life very easy, quite apart from anything else. --Dweller 13:01, 4 December 2007 (UTC)

Notice on Dwellers talkpage

I have placed a message about you adding me to your watchlist at Dweller's talk page [1] .Garda40 (talk) 21:58, 10 December 2007 (UTC)

"I'm almost certainly not watching these users for any bad reason", as the page noted specifically for this reason. Please assume good faith on my part, and don't guess that I'm only watching you due to a dispute - although that would be a perfectly proper reason to. Please also note that I chose to publicly declare the fact that I'm watching you rather than just watching you privately on my watchlist. I believe that I'm doing everything I can to be open and proper here - you wouldn't know if I'd done it privately, so you couldn't complain: be grateful that you know now :-) Though, as I said, it's almost certainly not for any bad reason!--Porcupine (prickle me! · contribs · status) 08:08, 11 December 2007 (UTC)

These kind of watchlists are a bad idea and have been the subject of tremendously disruptive disputes in the past - one involving a former admin was particularly noxious.

I am happy to give you the benefit of good faith, that it doesn't represent some kind of good/bad list, as indicated by the unexplained symbols. I'll happily assume that you just randomly allocate the symbols or have some other good faith reason for the list etc.

Nonetheless, I would like you to wipe it.

Doing so is a good faith measure on your part and will avoid you becoming the subject of yet another thread at ANI. You're under particular scrutiny, as you know, and you should aspire to the highest possible standards of editing. Please wipe it. --Dweller (talk) 10:44, 11 December 2007 (UTC)

I'll wipe the "other users" section when I get a chance: before 1:30pm my time, today. Up to 2hrs 30 minutes away.--Porcupine (prickle me! · contribs · status) 11:08, 11 December 2007 (UTC)
Good stuff. Always good to demonstrate good faith, not just require it of others. :-) --Dweller (talk) 12:37, 11 December 2007 (UTC)
OK; it's removed.--Porcupine (prickle me! · contribs · status) 16:51, 11 December 2007 (UTC)

CSD I5

Please do not add the speedy template CSD I5 for images that clearly do not meet the criteria. If they were only uploaded 2 days (or less) ago, they can't have not been used for 7 days. Just use the normal "orphaned fair use" template and it will get deleted eventually, if it's still an orphan. Example: Image:Magia.JPG. Thanks MECUtalk 21:21, 12 December 2007 (UTC)

sorry...

but i have now noticed another of your 'france' people, here he seems to have the same editing pattern, and he has also blanked his talk page. i have warned him, but i do'nt think he is in at the moment, keep an eye on him please!--Teenage wikian (talk) 13:58, 18 December 2007 (UTC)
