February 2011

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute to Wikipedia, at least one of your recent edits, such as the one you made to The Beverly Hillbillies, did not appear to be constructive and has been reverted or removed. Please use the sandbox for any test edits you would like to make, and read the welcome page to learn more about contributing constructively to this encyclopedia. Thank you! -- Mìthrandir (talk) 21:51, 3 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I hope I don't get any more of these or you and me are going to fall out. If your dog can't tell the difference between friend and foe, put it on a leash instead of rampaging all over WP with it.TriumFant (talk) 03:14, 4 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, and welcome!

[edit]

I don't know what Mìthrandir is talking about (above). I looked at all your edits to The Beverly Hillbillies and they look perfectly good to me. Unless I'm missing something, Mìthrandir was out of line and should not have tagged you. I'll ask him about it. I assume it was an honest mistake.

In the meantime, we usually try to welcome new contributors rather than tagging them with warnings, especially if they're not justified. (But we are busy, do get a lot of new contributors who make mistakes, and so it happens. Sorry.) Anyway, somewhat belatedly: Welcome! If you have questions feel free to message me, and here's our standard welcome message:

Welcome!

Hello, TriumFant, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your messages on discussion pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place {{help me}} before the question. Again, welcome! UPDATE: I went to discuss this with the user, and according to his talk page he's been in trouble here and has left. So, while I don't want to positively assert this without more checking (which I'll not bother with) he may just be poor editor who was making trouble on purpose. I didn't drop him a note since he's on indefinite absence, but you'd be justified in erasing the February 2011 section above from your talk page if you want to. Looking forward to your future contributions, Herostratus (talk) 13:30, 30 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Apparently Mithandir was rampaging with a bot and tagging people based on false positives - he upset quite a few people. He eventually 'departed' after taking issue with the people who tried to correct him and getting somewhat personal. Thanks for the welcome :)TriumFant (talk) 14:00, 31 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Janet Finch MT Girls' School is correct. I thought I had changed it! Regards Cj1340 (talk) 08:31, 30 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
