Invitation to Local Wikimania Event in San Francisco this Friday

[edit]

Hi!

Wikimania is happening and hopefully you're enjoying the sessions. While it's fairly last minute, you're warmly invited to participate in the local Wikimania-themed meetup in the Wikimedia Foundation office this Friday (tomorrow!). You will have to register in advance, but we would love to see more people from the WikiSalon community participate! For more information and registration, please check out meta:Wikimania 2022/San Francisco Meetup.

The event will involve hacking, teaching, learning, and celebrating and we'll have snacks. We will have the opportunity to watch live sessions at Wikimania together in the afternoon. The rest of the day we'll have opportunity to participate in the hackathon, and we may have some on-demand workshops/learning sessions.

In case we run out of space, it's first-come-first-serve so let us know soon! Hope to see you there.

Nomination of Autism spectrum in animals for deletion

[edit]
A discussion is taking place as to whether the article Autism spectrum in animals is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Autism spectrum in animals until a consensus is reached, and anyone, including you, is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on high-quality evidence and our policies and guidelines.

Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion notice from the top of the article until the discussion has finished.

Very strong keep: The article needs to just have medical research information sources on the page. It addresses the fact there may or may not be known animals who have autism and furthermore the subject is controversial. If we can find strong and hard sources involving animal autism, the Wikipedia page will do much better. Finding the proper sources for articles like these would take time and effort. But please do not delete this Wikipedia page. Angela Kate Maureen Pears 18:45, 20 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Notice

The article Intellectual disability in animals has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

No reliable sources (WP:RS) and research indicates that "intellectual disability in animals" is not a concept that exists in veterinary practice or scientific research (see Talk:Intellectual_disability_in_animals#Does_the_concept_of_"intellectual_disability"_exist_in_animals?).

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Miss America 2025 moved to draftspace

[edit]

Thanks for your contributions to Miss America 2025. Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing at this time because it needs more sources to establish notability and this information may be useful for the general Miss America article but not necessarily its own article. I have converted your article to a draft which you can improve, undisturbed for a while.

Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page. When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page OR move the page back. ... discospinster talk 14:15, 22 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Your submission at Articles for creation: Miss America 2025 (November 23)

[edit]
Your recent article submission has been rejected. If you have further questions, you can ask at the Articles for creation help desk or use Wikipedia's real-time chat help. The reason left by Tagishsimon was: This topic is not sufficiently notable for inclusion in Wikipedia. The comment the reviewer left was: maybe come back nearer the time.
