Welcome![edit]

Hello, TruffautStalker, and welcome to Wikipedia! My name is Shalor and I work with the Wiki Education Foundation; I help support students who are editing as part of a class assignment.

I hope you enjoy editing here. If you haven't already done so, please check out the student training library, which introduces you to editing and Wikipedia's core principles. You may also want to check out the Teahouse, a community of Wikipedia editors dedicated to helping new users. Below are some resources to help you get started editing.

Dinah Shurey[edit]

Minor revisions needed.

  • A well-structured and well-written draft overall!
  • Ensure that your citations are not to proxy links (if “proxy.library.carleton.ca” shows up in the URL, it’s a proxy link!)
  • Ensure that all your factual statements are cited (i.e. that “Her wartime experiences instilled a fascination of melodramatic and militaristic British experiences,” and that “The Last Post is Surrey's most controversial film,” etc.) Typically, one citation per sentence is required.
  • I also recommend that you add to the lead section to make it a full paragraph, as that is a standard feature of Wikipedia articles. Some guidelines here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Manual_of_Style/Lead_section

Notes[edit]

Hi! I reviewed your work and overall this is good - my main note is to make sure that attribution is more clear. I did some tweaking for this, so no worries about going back on it, but I just wanted to note this. I also marked the quotes so they would stand out more. Shalor (Wiki Ed) (talk) 17:03, 23 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hey! Just some small edit suggestions. I removed to dead links in the article. I'm not entirely sure how quotes work in wiki but Second to None isn't italicized in one of the quotes and there needs to be a space between words, "Weeklyas". If you know the plot of Second to None I would add just a little, just to give context to why they have to bring equipment down a manhole. In the last section following "Angered by the publication..." you say 'Shute' and I wasn't sure if I should change it to Shurey or shown or if it was meant to be Shute. If it is Shute maybe clarify where that name is coming from. Last would be to add to the lead paragraph. You can say that she is well known for her film ____. Try and make it 3-4 sentences. Other than that it looks good! You have a good balance of personal facts and information on the films. I like the 'fun facts' on how the films were made and also the controversy behind her directing career. Sunflowerroad (talk) 15:58, 3 November 2019 (UTC)sunflowerroad - November 3, 2019.[reply]
