I took your advice and looked into the GWU page. I further looked at the links from there to other "relevant" pages, and was a little shocked at the POV. I'm unsure how to add the attack tag to your talk page, as I have been urged to do; please be advised that I tagged several articles (CRBU, William H. Doughty, Meadeau View Institute--can't remember, but there might have been one other) that you created and/or customarily edit for review as attack pages.

--Ibinthinkin (talk) 14:51, 2 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

That's why I pointed you to them. I welcome the scrutiny! --TrustTruth (talk) 00:45, 3 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I will note that on Sept 28, 2008, I issued this user a final warning for BLP violations. Though blanked, it's in the history. I consider it still in effect, and will block if there are additional ones. DGG (talk) 16:51, 2 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

If I violated any rule by blanking my talk page I apologize. I definitely don't deny receiving the warning last Fall. --TrustTruth (talk) 00:45, 3 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Seriously?[edit]

Wow, man--

I just read and responded to your allegation that I'm a sock-puppet. I suppose I have that coming after suggesting you and TheRealGW might be closely related. Touche.

After all the dust settles, can we talk about how the article should be written? Or have you moved on?

Whatever.

--Ibinthinkin (talk) 16:05, 3 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

User:TheRealGW is an alternate account of mine I set up in February to edit only the GW-related articles after I felt personally threatened by people posting here and here [1]. I control the TheRealGW account, but have studiously avoided using it in the past couple weeks to make sure it didn't come across as a sock puppet in the discussions across the GWU articles. See Wikipedia:Sock puppetry#Alternative accounts. The whole point of this alternate account was to protect myself personally, since I have friends and family (as previously disclosed) associated with this school (although I personally have no association). But I suppose that is moot now. My suspicion that you are a sockpuppet needed to be addressed officially. If you are, just admit it and let's move on. If you're not, I guess you have nothing to worry about. As far as the article is concerned, this should not stand in the way of making constructive edits. --TrustTruth (talk) 17:34, 3 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not a sock puppet. I have no concerns for the investigation of such. Sorry I escalated this. You think I'm kidding, and I'm not. I really am willing to discuss our differences on email so that anyone sympathizing with my point of view does not find cover in my criticisms. They can fight their own battles, as far as I'm concerned. I just want a good end to all of this. This is not my life. --Ibinthinkin (talk) 18:22, 3 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I mentioned at User talk:Ibinthinkin that I would point you to the latest discussion between me and Ibinthinkin there. It's not my intent to look back and to condemn or punish others for how they have acted in the past. Suffice it to say, I hope you can assume good faith in Ibinthinkin from here on out and try your best to work productively with the user. I've encouraged him to do the same with you. Good Ol’factory (talk) 00:18, 7 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Given Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/4by40/Archive and his continued assertion that he is neither DeMille nor an associate of DeMille, I agree it is time to move on. --TrustTruth (talk) 02:00, 7 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
That's great. Thanks for your willingness to do that; it's probably for the best at this point. Let me know if you run into future difficulties. Good Ol’factory (talk) 03:04, 7 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Merge?[edit]

Hello. I noticed you suggested merging Oliver DeMille into A Thomas Jefferson Education but did not provide a rationale for the merge on Talk:A Thomas Jefferson Education (where the discuss link in the merge template points to). I don't really feel a merge is warranted, but if you still do, you might want to state a rationale in order to get the ball rolling. Best regards —Eustress talk 01:38, 11 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I removed both tags, as they' appeaf irrational to me. TJE is one of the leading methods of homeschoolsing and worth an article, while deMille's career is very much broader than that. If you put back the tags, discuss, DGG (talk) 23:20, 13 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I did discuss it at the OD talk page ([2]). I would appreciate it if you would discuss this next time first before removing. --TrustTruth (talk) 00:19, 14 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

WP:BLP on Talk pages[edit]

Hello TrustTruth. In your most recent comment at Talk:A Thomas Jefferson Education you characterized Oliver DeMille using four words that attribute a character flaw to the subject. I would appreciate it if you would edit your own comment to remove those words, since BLP applies on Talk pages. If those words were quoted from a reliable source, they could probably be included, but I assume they are not. EdJohnston (talk) 19:50, 14 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Added alleged. --TrustTruth (talk) 19:52, 14 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I do not consider that sufficient. Alleged by whom? Again, a RS is needed. DGG (talk) 18:47, 17 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Alleged in the talk page comment I was responding to. Not a big deal, I'll change it. --TrustTruth (talk) 01:17, 18 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion of Comanity[edit]

A tag has been placed on Comanity requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a company or corporation, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for companies and corporations.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Ironholds (talk) 08:50, 24 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

File:Spori Building.jpg is now available on Wikimedia Commons as Commons:File:Spori Building.jpg. This is a repository of free media that can be used on all Wikimedia wikis. AfD nomination of Nauvoo Brass Band[edit]

An editor has nominated one or more articles which you have created or worked on, for deletion. The nominated article is Nauvoo Brass Band. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also Wikipedia:Notability and "What Wikipedia is not").

Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion(s) by adding your comments to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Nauvoo Brass Band. Please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate.

Please note: This is an automatic notification by a bot. I have nothing to do with this article or the deletion nomination, and can't do anything about it. --Erwin85Bot (talk) 01:08, 5 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Unreferenced BLPs[edit]

Hello TrustTruth! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 1 of the articles that you created is tagged as an Unreferenced Biography of a Living Person. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to insure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. if you were to bring this article up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 937 article backlog. Once the article is adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the article:

You are now a Reviewer[edit]

Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged protection, is currently undergoing a two-month trial scheduled to end 15 August 2010.

Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under pending changes. Pending changes is applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial. The list of articles with pending changes awaiting review is located at Special:OldReviewedPages.

When reviewing, edits should be accepted if they are not obvious vandalism or BLP violations, and not clearly problematic in light of the reason given for protection (see Wikipedia:Reviewing process). More detailed documentation and guidelines can be found here.

If you do not want this userright, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. Courcelles (talk) 01:30, 18 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

File source problem with File:Joseph_Morris.jpg[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:Joseph_Morris.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of that website's terms of use of its content. However, if the copyright holder is a party unaffiliated from the website's publisher, that copyright should also be acknowledged.

If you have uploaded other files, consider verifying that you have specified sources for those files as well. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged per Wikipedia's criteria for speedy deletion, F4. If the image is copyrighted and non-free, the image will be deleted 48 hours after 02:16, 2 August 2010 (UTC) per speedy deletion criterion F7. If you have any questions or are in need of assistance please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Rockfang (talk) 02:16, 2 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The article Roger G. Christensen has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

No assertion of notability. Fails [[W{GNG]]. See article creator's comments on talk page.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. File source and copyright licensing problem with File:Robert T Burton.gif[edit]

File Copyright problem
File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:Robert T Burton.gif. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status and its source. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously.

If you did not create this work entirely yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the page from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of the website's terms of use of its content. If the original copyright holder is a party unaffiliated with the website, that author should also be credited. You will also need to state under what licensing terms it was released. Please refer to the image use policy to learn what files you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. The page on copyright tags may help you to find the correct tag to use for your file.

Please add this information by editing the image description page. If the necessary information is not added within the next days, the image will be deleted. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

Please also check any other files you may have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Here is a list of your uploads. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. --ARTEST4ECHO (talk/contribs) 18:18, 27 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on SweetHaven requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person, organization (band, club, company, etc.) or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. --ARTEST4ECHO (talk/contribs) 13:43, 23 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

File:Laveen Village sign.jpg missing description details[edit]

Dear uploader: The media file you uploaded as:

is missing a description and/or other details on its image description page. If possible, please add this information. This will help other editors make better use of the image, and it will be more informative to readers.

If the information is not provided, the image may eventually be proposed for deletion, a situation which is not desirable, and which can easily be avoided.

If you have any questions, please see Help:Image page. Thank you. Theo's Little Bot (error?) 09:05, 14 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

File permission problem with File:CannonFamily.gif[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:CannonFamily.gif. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. --ARTEST4ECHO (talk/contribs) 20:17, 12 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Image copyright problem with File:Laveen Village sign.jpg[edit]

Image Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading File:Laveen Village sign.jpg.

This image is a derivative work, containing an "image within an image". Examples of such images would include a photograph of a sculpture, a scan of a magazine cover, or a screenshot of a computer game or movie. In each of these cases, the rights of the creator of the original image must be considered, as well as those of the creator of the derivative work.

While the image description page states the source and copyright status of the derivative work, it only names the creator of the original work without specifying the status of their copyright over the work.

Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the original image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have uploaded other derivative works, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. Thanks again for your cooperation. Kelly hi! 12:37, 13 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
