File source and copyright licensing problems[edit]

File:Flesh-colored-pantyhose.jpg[edit]

ww2censor (talk) 04:35, 27 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hmmmm. Nice picture! (Nice legs!!)
However, the bottom of the http://www.stylelist.com/ page says: © Copyright 2010 AOL Inc., All Rights Reserved
That means, to use the picture on WP, you need to get written permission from the publisher, and supply a copy of it to the relevant WP people. That's too much like hard work. So, sorry, but you can't use that picture.
However, there may be "free" versions available. (i.e. Versions with copyrights that allow use on WP.)
Have you heard of "Commons"? It a huge receptical of "freely licensed" pictures - You might find one there. (http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Main_Page)
(Or maybe you can talk one of your colleagues with attractive legs into immortalising herself by posing for you?)
Good luck! Pdfpdf (talk) 11:20, 27 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
(P.S. If you want help with loading a picture with "correct" licensing information, I'm happy to do so.)
I had a look on commons with no luck :( Trustt-noo-1 (talk) 10:02, 28 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

File:Black-tights.jpg[edit]

I'll leave this one more-or-less intact.
However, again, note that http://beaut.ie/blog/ says: All content is © Beaut.ie and may not be reproduced without prior permission.

Thanks for uploading File:Black-tights.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear.
(That's polite waffle for saying: You haven't specifically stated what the copyright is, nor who owns it, and on WP we are paranoid about being sued, so we really need you to tell us.)
If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.
(More polite waffle, this time saying: If you have an excuse for stealing this picture, than we need you to tell us what your excuse is. Also, if your excuse is plausible, we really need you to comply with, and tell us about, any hoops they require you & us to jump through.))
As well as adding the source, we also need to know the terms of the license that the copyright holder has published the file under, usually done by adding a licensing tag.
(Same comment)
If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL.
(If you actually created this, rather than stole it, then tell us.)
If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
(If you stole it, but for one of the justifiable reasons for stealing it, tell us which excuse you're using.)
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Unsourced and untagged files may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the file will be deleted 48 hours after 04:36, 27 June 2010 (UTC).
(Note: What we're telling you here doesn't apply to just this file. If you've been naughty and stolen lots of files, it applies to each one of them, too. Please check them, one-by-one, and "fix" them, one-by-one.)
If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. ww2censor (talk) 04:36, 27 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
(Actually, they're pretty good at helping you if you don't know what's going on, so if I can't help you, don't hesitate to ask them. Cheers, Pdfpdf (talk) 11:20, 27 June 2010 (UTC))[reply]

ww2censor (talk) 04:37, 27 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
This one might be different. We should be able to mount a "fair use" case for this one without much effort. However, I do need to know where you got it from. Pdfpdf (talk) 11:20, 27 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I got it from the UAHS website Trustt-noo-1 (talk) 10:02, 28 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I could only find this one: http://www.urrbraehs.sa.edu.au/images/uahs_logo.jpg, which is only 112x115px, whereas this one: File:UAHSLOGO.jpg, is 200x210px. Pdfpdf (talk) 15:05, 28 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Problem(s) solved. http://www.urrbraehs.sa.edu.au/images/uahs_logo.jpg is just fine. Pdfpdf (talk) 16:41, 28 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

By-the-way: http://www.urrbraehs.sa.edu.au/ says its copyright is http://www.sacentral.sa.gov.au/copyright.html which says:

Subject to any specific licence terms that may apply or any restrictions placed on this material by a third party owner, copyright material on this website may be reproduced, or made available online or electronically. File copyright problem with File:UAHSLOGO.jpg[edit]

{Spam deleted. Pdfpdf (talk) 15:21, 2 July 2010 (UTC)}[reply]

Hi, Trustt-noo-1, your uploaded file is clearly in violation of the requirements.
I disagree, but ... Pdfpdf (talk) 15:21, 2 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
However, school logos are extremely easy to provide WP:FUR and copyright details for. You should preferably have all this information available before you upload your files, as most other editors won't do it for you.
Yes, you are quite correct Pdfpdf (talk) 15:21, 2 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
In the next hour or so I will have done it for you, but to avoid conflicts with other authors, please do it yourself in future. --Kudpung (talk) 09:34, 1 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks, Pdfpdf (talk) 15:21, 2 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Other spam deleted. Dear editors, there is NO point in spamming new editors, they have NO idea what you are complaining about. Pdfpdf (talk) 15:21, 2 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

All the notes and stuff are gone[edit]

OK, I'm confused. (Regarding these edits: 1, 2) If it's not too much effort, can you tell me what you're referring to? Cheers, Pdfpdf (talk) 15:34, 2 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Somebody who edited it removed the notes at the bottom of the page, the notes about uniform stuff(Hats and Stockings etc.) and the logo was changed to a file that doesnt exist. Trustt-noo-1 (talk) 21:36, 2 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Spam[edit]

It appears that a lot of good advice has also got removed from your talk page too ;) Some of those messages may have been official requests and were probably not spam at all. One such request was to remember to complete edit summaries. It's not easy understanding the literally hundreds of of rules and guidelines around here - heck, I've been here for four years and still get lost sometimes - but some of the rules need to be followed right from the beginning in order to avoid other people making what may appear to be unfriendly comments. I always go out of my way to help newcomers, whatever anyone else may have been telling you, so don't don't get discouraged, and don't don't hesitate to yell for advice if you need it :) --Kudpung (talk) 22:58, 2 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Im already lost, stuff has been deleted from my talk and, well, yeah, im new and I dont know any rules apart from the basics :) Thanks, Trustt-noo-1 (talk) 02:45, 3 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

EDITING[edit]

Hi, I thought you might just like to know hat the 'in use' or 'under construction' tags are intended to be used when an article is going to be heavily edited for a couple of hours. Please do not use it unless it is absolutely neccesary, then remember to delete it afterwards. Thanks.--Kudpung (talk) 00:44, 7 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Ah, ok, sorry. Regards, Trustt-noo-1 (talk) 07:39, 7 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Meetup 12 June 2011[edit]

Hi! I just wanted to let you know that Liam Wyatt is in town, so we were thinking of doing a quick meetup at Brunelli's cafe in Rundle Street (at the Rundle Mall end, near the car park) at 6pm on Sunday, with a possibility of drinks afterwards. So if you're interested we hope to see you there. :) - Bilby (talk) 03:27, 10 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
