Discretionary sanctions alert - gender and sexuality

[edit]

This is a standard message to notify contributors about an administrative ruling in effect. It does not imply that there are any issues with your contributions to date.

You have shown interest in gender-related disputes or controversies or in people associated with them. Due to past disruption in this topic area, a more stringent set of rules called discretionary sanctions is in effect. Any administrator may impose sanctions on editors who do not strictly follow Wikipedia's policies, or the page-specific restrictions, when making edits related to the topic.

For additional information, please see the guidance on discretionary sanctions and the Arbitration Committee's decision here. If you have any questions, or any doubts regarding what edits are appropriate, you are welcome to discuss them with me or any other editor.

Just letting you know about the stricter rules for gender and sexuality related topics on Wikipedia. Don't worry, it's just a standard notice that has to be given and you've not done anything wrong. Sideswipe9th (talk) 16:21, 15 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Discretionary sanctions alert - biography of living persons

[edit]

This is a standard message to notify contributors about an administrative ruling in effect. It does not imply that there are any issues with your contributions to date.

You have shown interest in articles about living or recently deceased people, and edits relating to the subject (living or recently deceased) of such biographical articles.

Per the previous notification on gender and sexuality, I'm just letting you know about the extra rules that apply to BLP topics. Sideswipe9th (talk) 17:16, 6 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Please refrain from referring to other editors as "perpetrators" and accusing them (without evidence) of holding biases that should disqualify them from editing on certain topics. As you know, the page in question falls within the discretionary sanctions for gender and sexuality, so editors may be held to a somewhat higher standard of conduct than elsewhere in the project. Civility is key. Newimpartial (talk) 19:50, 27 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

May 2023

[edit]

Warning icon Please stop. If you continue to blank out or remove portions of page content, templates, or other materials from Wikipedia without adequate explanation, as you did at For Women Scotland, you may be blocked from editing. DanielRigal (talk) 18:50, 16 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Stop icon You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you vandalize Wikipedia, as you did at For Women Scotland. Stop trying to remove valid content. This is indefensible. DanielRigal (talk) 18:52, 16 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Stop icon
You have been blocked indefinitely from editing for edit warring.
During a dispute, you should first try to discuss controversial changes and seek consensus. If that proves unsuccessful, you are encouraged to seek dispute resolution, and in some cases it may be appropriate to request page protection.
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please read the guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text at the bottom of your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  ~ ToBeFree (talk) 18:58, 16 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

^ This block may be freely removed, without even asking me, by any administrator who is convinced that there will be no further edit warring, and ideally not violations of the topic ban described below. It is of an indefinite duration to ensure that Truthseeker422 has to explicitly agree to this and demonstrate their understanding before regaining the ability to edit. ~ ToBeFree (talk) 19:15, 16 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Oh, one thing. Logged-out editing in the way you have done is prohibited; please ensure to always log in when editing, and clarify your understanding of the sockpuppetry policy in any unblock request as well. ~ ToBeFree (talk) 19:28, 16 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Another concerning thing to me is that this all kicked off almost immediately after this user was renamed. It seems very likely that they already had bad intentions when they requested the rename. That shows a deliberate plan to cause trouble which is far worse than getting into an edit war as a knee jerk reaction. DanielRigal (talk) 19:36, 16 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Notice that you are now subject to an arbitration enforcement sanction

[edit]

The following sanction now applies to you:

You are topic banned from all edits about, and all pages related to, any gender-related dispute or controversy and associated people.

You have been sanctioned for operating an account that appears to be dedicated to transphobic contributions, and resorting to edit warring and incivility on your mission.

This sanction is imposed in my capacity as an uninvolved administrator under the authority of the Arbitration Committee's decision at Wikipedia:Arbitration/Requests/Case/Gender and sexuality#Final decision and, if applicable, the contentious topics procedure. This sanction has been recorded in the log of sanctions. If the sanction includes a ban, please read the banning policy to ensure you understand what this means. If you do not comply with this sanction, you may be blocked for an extended period, by way of enforcement of this sanction—and you may also be made subject to further sanctions.

You may appeal this sanction using the process described here. I recommend that you use the arbitration enforcement appeals template if you wish to submit an appeal to the arbitration enforcement noticeboard. You may also appeal directly to me (on my talk page), before or instead of appealing to the noticeboard. Even if you appeal this sanction, you remain bound by it until you are notified by an uninvolved administrator that the appeal has been successful. You are also free to contact me on my talk page if anything of the above is unclear to you. ~ ToBeFree (talk) 19:13, 16 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
