October 2008[edit]

If you have a close connection to some of the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest. In keeping with Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy, edits where there is a conflict of interest, or where such a conflict might reasonably be inferred from the tone of the edit and the proximity of the editor to the subject, are strongly discouraged. If you have a conflict of interest, you should avoid or exercise great caution when:

  1. editing or creating articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with;
  2. participating in deletion discussions about articles related to your organization or its competitors;
  3. linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam); and,
  4. avoid breaching relevant policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, verifiability of information, and autobiographies.

For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have conflict of interest, please see our frequently asked questions for businesses. For more details about what, exactly, constitutes a conflict of interest, please see our conflict of interest guidelines. Thank you. This account has only edited one article: Geoff Simpson, who is a Washington State Representative from the 47th district.

Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but your recent edit removed content from Geoff Simpson. When removing text, please specify a reason in the edit summary and discuss edits that are likely to be controversial on the article's talk page. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the text has been restored, as you can see from the page history. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia, and if you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Thank you.Your edit summary of "deleted extraneous information posted by political adversaries" implied bad faith editing. I am replacing the material from the Seattle Times article. diff--HoboJones (talk) 23:02, 23 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

This is your only warning.
The next time you violate Wikipedia's biographies of living persons policy by inserting unsourced defamatory content into an article or any other Wikipedia page, as you did to Geoff Simpson, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia.

Added: "In his re-election effort, he has been endorsed by all the major law enforcement organization because his opponent - Mark Hargrove - is supported by sexual predators." You have been reported to WP:AIV for your repeated vandalism. diff/--HoboJones (talk) 20:35, 27 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Congratulations![edit]

Because of the edits you made today, you've won yourself a permanent vacation from Wikipedia! Isn't that exciting? Contributing to articles can be very stressful and time-consuming, and it's just too much for some people to handle. So I've set you free! Take a nap in a hammock, walk on the beach, fly a kite, or build a tree house. If hang gliding or racing motorcycles is more your speed, you can do that, too! You can do whatever you like, as long as you're not editing Wikipedia. Hooray for you!
