Peer Review[edit]

You can nominate the article for peer review here are steps, it is a simple task, I will also have a good look over it too and if I can give any suggestions to improve I will. Happy editing. BigDunc (talk) 15:38, 2 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

  • Thanks. That was very cool to add the big reference/link block at the bottom. I have invited a few associates who knew Elias Porter personally to get Wiki accounts and add things I may have missed. I will make sure I have added all the reference material I have and may give it a couple weeks for others to add their knowledge before I request peer review. That will also give me enough time to act on suggestions from you and other experienced Wikipedia people. Regards. Tscud (talk) 16:54, 2 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I would re-write the education and career highlights sections to remove the bullet points. BigDunc (talk) 16:58, 2 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  • Good advice. It reads a lot better now. I also substantiated a few other statements with additional references.Tscud (talk) 20:54, 2 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah I seen good work here is a link to Wikiproject Psychology you could ask for advice there too from people who know a lot more about Psychology, but keep up the good work and if you have any questions drop by my page. BigDunc (talk) 21:04, 2 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the advice. I think I have now listed it for peer review in the Psychology Project. If you have time, would you mind seeing if I have done it right? I'd also appreciate an actual peer-review of the article. Tscud (talk) 18:27, 5 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
    • You are very welcome for my comments on the peer review. I notice you plan to ask for those who knew Porter to get accounts and add material on him (above). While that is fine, this is just a friendly reminder that the material added must be verifiable from reliable sources. For example, someone could add that Poter loved Scooby Doo or Rainbow Brite (to pick two silly examples) and say "I was his student and know this", but unless these could be reliably sourced, they really shouldn't be in Wikipedia (how do we know the user in question was a student of his, and isn't just a vandal adding silly things to articles?) I also notice that the photo of him now says it has been released by the publisher - this is great, but there is a system to do this assuming they would email the Wikimedia Foundation offices with this release - see Wikipedia:OTRS.
